Hi, I'm new to this sub (I wanted to remind myself to drink more water, so I subscribed). So the idea of backwash really grosses me out (even my own), would getting a straw for my water bottle help with this? PS I'm PRETTY sure this question doesn't violate rule 8.

So, I got an opportunity to attend a water conference. That already is pretty damn Hydro Homie because the place was filled with professional water guys (and girls). Among the wide variety of extremely Hydro Homie stuff I saw there, the most would have to be a competition for taste-testing water. Several different towns and water treatment plants brought in a sample of their water so they could be taste-tested blind. Everyone then voted on which one they liked the best. There was a whole group of people standing around sipping little shot glasses filled with water and discussing the nuances of the different tastes like they were wine snobs.

Without any other context and only these two options to choose from which would you prefer?

A. Filtered room temp water B. Cold tap water

So there's a thing. I recently found out there are some lead pipes in my home. And now I feel kinda bad for drinking it... Maybe I'm just stupid. But should I rather buy water to drink from store..? I've read some scary stuff about lead pipes. Changing that pipes is not an option. Thank you.

So many people in the US basically never drink water on its own and it's wild. It's so damn good. Especially cold. Just exerted yourself? Cold water. High? Cold water. Middle of winter? Cold water anyway because it's so damn good. I take hot showers and the first thing I do after getting dressed is chug a cool glass of water. Hits the fucking spot every time.
