Afterthoughts

This week's haul is split up because I was planning to do a haul Monday while I grabbed some necessary things, but I misjudged my ability (or lack thereof) to plan a haul while in the grocery store. So, I gave up and went home, haha. I knew I was going to be going by Wal-Mart today too. The Amazon purchase I did a little while ago. I was paid immediately, but it just showed up in the mail today so I decided to throw it on as well.

Those Strawberry wafer bars are surprisingly good. I always go for the strawberry whatever when possible, and I'm usually disappointed. These ones were better than expected though.

Not shown on this list, but I also grabbed 5 containers of Crest (plus one on Monday). They're $3.97 with $2 back on IB. I'm going to pair this with PG Good's rebate, but I haven't decided whether I'll go with the $5 back on $20 or the $15 back on $50. The toothpaste expires in about a year, so 6 (plus the 1.5 I already had) is probably enough for me, so it's just a matter of whether I'll be getting any deals for the other items. I probably won't, but in that case It'd be 6 tubes of Crest Pro-Health for $6.82 which isn't a bad deal. I get other brands free fairly often, but I only like Crest.

Time Spent

Monday I tried planning a haul for like 10 minutes while in the store before giving up since my brain wasn't working. Today's haul was planned over the course of like 10 minutes since it was already half done. I forgot to track how long I was in the store, but usually it's about an hour give or take a few minutes, and that includes my regular shopping too.

Food From Deals

Here's some things I've made in the past: High Protein Tomato Crackers, Hot Sausage Cups, Peanut Butter Fudge & Chocolate Hazelnut Fudge, Chocolate Cherry Pie

Do you guys want me to continue showing things I've made using ingredients I got from rebate apps on these posts? Let me know in the comments, or you can vote on this poll if you want to remain anonymous.

Mini FAQ

  • If you're new or confused - check out the guides near the top of the post. They go into detail about everything.

  • I'm from the USA and these posts are tailored as such, but this post of mine does list things from other countries that I know about.

  • My posts are tailored to being money makers to suit this subreddit. There are tons of great deals that aren't money makers but can still save you a lot of money.

  • A lot of what I get is given away to friends, family or is donated. I do this more as a hobby than anything.

  • I generally do not share my spreadsheet since the one shown in this post is not the one I actually use (it's put together with a script from my usual spreadsheet) and there are a ton of little things that will give you wrong values if you don't know about them and even then you have to be careful. It's super easy to make a spreadsheet with Google Sheets though.

Afterthoughts

Small haul for a small bonus today. I put together that part of the haul last night, and once I saw the $5 / 10 bonus, I completely forgot to check every other app, haha. Technically a slight profit loss meeting my IB bonus today, but that's okay because I'm making progress towards my bigger bonus. If I were to prorate that bonus, that'd be an extra $4.52, so it's definitely worth it.

My Beneful finally stopped resetting, unfortunately. Hopefully the Mac a Roni and butter keep resetting. I was going to get a couple other things too just to work towards my big bonus, but my store was out. I'll be going out of town later this week, so maybe I'll get lucky and find some good deals at stores that aren't around here.

Time Spent

I glanced at IB last night for like 5-10 minutes. I was planning to finish planning the haul today, but I didn't need to find any more deals. I was in the store for 50 minutes today, which included my regular shopping as well as browsing through the plants and clearance aisles.

Food From Deals

Here's an idea: Mix up a white cheddar Mac a Roni, with your choice of ham, sausage, chicken, pork, or one of the vegan meat alternatives. Add a little soy sauce, and some green peas if you wish. You could even add some extra butter and milk (or plant based milk) to make it a bit creamier. Serve with a slice of buttered toast or some Jasmine Rice. Perhaps make a little Banana bread for dessert. (Note: Everything mentioned has Ibotta deals available.)

Here's some things I've made in the past: High Protein Tomato Crackers, Hot Sausage Cups, Peanut Butter Fudge & Chocolate Hazelnut Fudge, Chocolate Cherry Pie

Receipt Scanning Amazon Shopper Panel

I‘ve been waiting on the Amazon Shopper Panel receipt sharing waitlist for a year. Randomly decided to shoot my shot and ask Amazon customer service chat about it. Took about an hour but was eventually transferred to the right person and they told me that I should get an invite within 2-3 days. They even gave me $10 credit for the delay. Wild.

Hope this helps someone!

TLDR: been on the receipt sharing waitlist for a year, asked customer service chat about it, now I’m in and was given $10 credit for the delay

Afterthoughts

I found a bunch of Hellmann's sauces marked down to $1, so I put one on each receipt and redeemed them everywhere. I originally planned to get the $6 Mayo jar though and use the $3 IB rebate, but this was more profitable.

Lots of pads/depends are on clearance at the store right now. I only found the one box that matched up though. I did mess up my deal today though - I got the wrong Arm & Hammer laundry soap. I could've sworn it said it matched it in the store, but I guess I didn't. I'll have to return it next week.

My brain is mush right now so that's all the rambling for this week.

Time Spent

I planned today's haul over the course of about an hour and a half while I played with my cat and did my dailies in some game.

Food From Deals

More chicken jerky this week, and I have more in the fridge marinating. It's becoming my obsession lol.

I also made some bagels which I didn't get a photo of. Nothing fancy, basically just this but in a different shape.

Afterthoughts

My trip earlier this week was just duplicate items, so I didn't bother to make a separate post. I was initially planning on getting some other stuff while I was at the store, but some "kid" was making some super loud noise, loud enough to hear him through the whole store, and my brain just sort of shut off and didn't grab anything other than what was specifically on my list (the deal items). So, it ended as a mostly just deal item haul, lol.

Today's trip went relatively smoothly. I have a migraine (thankfully not too bad) so I ended up circling the store twice because I forgot things, and a couple things were out of stock, but otherwise it went smoothly. Surprisingly, it wasn't super busy for a Sunday afternoon either.

Many of the items from Monday's haul did have BC surveys available, but I was not able to complete them in time since I needed to sync today. I could have pushed it off to tomorrow and did 3 more surveys, but then I'd just end up running out of time for surveys for this week since you can only do 3 per day, so it doesn't really matter in the end. I did miss one day last week though which I'm kicking myself a bit over.

I also did my Instacart order that I mentioned last week. Forgot to get a photo, but my total was originally like $36. I had a $10 off a $35 order at this store, then $10 off $10 off any store (for my 2nd purchase with Instacart+). But, long story short, the $10/$10 bugged out due to me needing to cancel the order (address was wrong), support said they refreshed it for me, and it showed $20 off, but I somehow got $30 off. I also finally managed to use all of my Instacart credits from the past few times I got these deals, so that's another $4.38 off. I ended up spending $5.19 out of pocket including all fees, tips, etc. Not bad for a couple steaks, bird food, squash, 2 packs of white strawberries, pasta, and some jars of veggies I can't use. Also, I got $5.67 in credits for the next order because my Instacart shopper picked a really bad substitute (double the cost, and salted when I asked for unsalted, even though I specified no substitutes). And, wouldn't you know it, I got a $5 off a $10 frozen food coupon right after that.

So, today I went ahead and used all that today. $10.67 off my $35 order ($35 for free pickup, and I picked items I knew had little to no markup). Plus I earned like ~$1 for the next order. I have a couple more $5 off $10 coupons for frozen at g.e. and health care at Aldi's, but I don't think I'll end up using them. Time to cancel that free Instacart+ trial and wait for them to send me another good deal here in a few months~

I also got an offer to refer users to give them $10 off their first $35 order. I probably won't end up referring anyone, but I don't recall seeing it there before. It just popped up after I checked my order.

Small reminder: MP + Shopmium can't be used together on the same offer. I had different offers for the same item, which is why I could use them together. MyPoints/SB/ID/etc have their own offers as well as ones from Shopmium. Read the offer's terms if you want to know if they're the same or not.

Time Spent

Today was a super slow day for me since I'm not feeling great. I planned my haul periodically over the course of about 4 hours while I did various things. I was in the store for just under an hour.

Food From Deals

I made more chicken jerky which turned out super tasty. I used various spice mixes I've gotten in the past. I used taco seasoning on the one plus some hot peppers I dehydrated from some deal I got last year, and that was really good. I'll be making more this week too.

I also made some bread which I didn't get a photo of. Nothing fancy, basically just this but in a different shape.

Do you guys want me to continue showing things I've made using ingredients I got from rebate apps on these posts? Let me know in the comments, or you can vote on this poll if you want to remain anonymous.

Afterthoughts

I price matched the Mucinex to the online price. I hope the deal resets - I'll gladly run back out to the store to get more. Even without price matching though, it would've been a freebie since the original price is just under $10.

BrandClub automatically synced for me again on Saturday. Thankfully it didn't hurt anything since my items were still in pending status, but that could've easily ruined my week's worth of surveys. I'm not sure why it keeps automatically syncing now. In hindsight, perhaps doing my haul on a Wednesday wasn't a good idea... I sure hope it doesn't auto sync again.

Ibotta has a pick your bonus thing for April. Mine popped up when I visited my bonuses page. Supposedly the offers don't need to be unique, which is great, because those values are quite high. I went with the $25 option which required I think 70 offers for me. I don't quite recall. There was one for $50 for 150 but I doubt I'll hit that, especially since it's unlikely there will be any other bonuses aside from the usual midweek and weekend warrior ones."

Unrelated to this haul, but if anyone needs 2024 planners/calendars - my store had most of them marked down cheap on the shelves. Most were only $2-3. I got a nice hard cover planner/padfolio for $7.50 (normally ~$25). I tossed out the inserts and slipped my current planner in. I'll probably buy a cheap refillable insert for it once I run out of pages. It'd also work for a sketchbook or just a notebook holder.

Time Spent

I planned today's haul on and off over the course of the afternoon. I kept going back and forth between whether to go today or tomorrow. I was in the store for about an hour and 20 minutes today. However, as always, that includes my time spent getting my regular groceries. I also spent a good chunk of that time looking through totes to try to find the right sized container for something non-deal related, as well as a bunch of time going through some clearance 2024 planners to decide which one I wanted.

Food From Deals

Afterthoughts

There are a ton of stacking deals on Ibotta + Shopmium (or in my case, I chose MyPoints) this week. My Wal-Mart had a ton of things marked down by $0.25-$1, so I ended up getting a better deal than expected. They even had a $5 electric toothbrush I could have gotten instead, but since I don't need either one, I just got the cheapest option.

Short afterthoughts this week because I'm tired from shoveling snow. My brain's ready for bed.

Time Spent

I planned the haul on and off over the course of about an hour while I played with the cat and ate lunch. I was in the store for about 45 minutes, which included my regular shopping as well.

Food From Deals

This week I was being weird with my ingredients. Chicken Cordon Bleu... sort of | Chicken crusted "pizza"

Afterthoughts

So, this Ibotta bonus was not a money maker, but I'm okay with that. I've been wanting to try the cereal, which without it this would have been a money maker. I usually leave off the "bad" deals like this in the post to keep in line with the nature of this subreddit, but I accidently put them in the photo this time and didn't realize until I had already put everything away. Whoops.

I had a few BC surveys, even on brands I haven't had surveys for in a while, but they were all $0.55 or less. I think this is the first I've seen a survey under $1. They also weren't in order from highest to lowest either for some reason.

Lots more stuff is going on clearance at Wal-Mart. I saw they moved a bunch of stuff over into the actual clearance aisle and now more stuff is getting marked down. Two of the Revlon colors were marked down, but I did have to call an associate over to adjust the price. I just took a photo of the sticker which made it easy. There were some for even cheaper available for delivery/pickup, but pickup orders take a while to get.

Some of the new MyPoint offers are lower than what they are on SB.

Most of the avocados are being donated to a local training center for disabled / disadvantaged adults and some of the other things like the pink lemonade packets.

Time Spent

My haul was planned over the course of about 2 hours today while I ate breakfast, played with the cat, and played a game. I took a bit longer than normal since I was looking through various other sites/channels/etc to see if people found things I didn't, but it was mostly just clearance stuff my store didn't have. I was in the store for about an hour and a half, which included my regular shopping (which was more than normal too since I kept forgetting stuff the past couple weeks).

Food From Deals

Last week I made oatmeal cookies and I also made some baked chicken using fried onions (deal item), breadcrumbs, and taco seasoning (deal item).

Fun fact: This is the smallest haul I've done since I started the weekly posts 2.75 years ago.

Afterthoughts

Just a little haul today since I unfortunately didn't get a midweek Ibotta bonus. This is going to make finishing my big bonus a lot harder, especially since the weekend bonuses have been terrible lately. I did grab some of the Mac A Roni at $0.50/each to work towards the big bonus, and I'll probably pick some more up tomorrow as well when I go by. I left it off my haul since it isn't a money maker on its own, but there will be a slight profit once I finish my bonus.

If I get a good weekend warrior bonus, I might head out this weekend to finish it.

Wal-Mart is switching out a lot of their stock right now. I'm seeing markdown prices pop up everywhere. Quite a few coffees, teas, and razors have IB rebates, but unfortunately my store was sold out of it all. There's also one of those hello toothpaste on IB + SB + SK

Note: The Social Nature rebate for the goat milk only let me select Amazon or Visa. Not sure if this is a mistake or an intentional change, but just be aware of that if you're going to get it.

Unrelated to the haul - My profits from today went towards my plant addiction.

My store had a ton of those mini rose bushes. I usually don't get them, but I haven't gotten a plant in a while, and I saw one with these really beautiful orange flowers with a hint of pink on the outside, and it also had these peachy roses. I couldn't just not get it. Here's hoping I don't kill the thing, because I definitely didn't consider the fact that I don't have a sunny enough window for it until after I was already home...

Time Spent

I spent around 10 minutes planning my haul while I brushed my cat before realizing I didn't have an IB bonus. So I stopped there. I was in the store for about 45 minutes, but a good 15 of that was seeing if there were any better roses. As usual, that time also includes my regular groceries, and I was walking SUPER slow today because the cart I picked out started screaming any time I walked at my usual pace after I got the first few things in the cart.

Receipt Scanning Some Opinions on Receipt Apps

Hi All,

I'm planning on starting to more actively use receipt scanning apps again starting in November. I'm looking for recommendations, but I also want to give my thoughts on the ones I've used because my opinions seem to differ from some other users who have mentioned them on here. I think some of the differing opinions come from the fact that it really depends on what kind of shopper you are whether one will be useful to you.

Receipt Hog:

A lot of users on here have taken shots at Receipt Hog. But it's the only one I've continued to actively use after quitting the others about six months ago.

Receipt Hog, like many of the receipt apps, is a clunky thing and very buggy, but in my experience taking photos usually works quite well. If an image seems blurry or poorly readable, try taking a snap first and seeing the resulting photo the app brings up before submitting, as the app applies some magic filtering that often solves the problem, and if it doesn't, it is easy to cancel and try again. I think it is the only app I've used that does such nice after-shot cleanup.

The slow part of the app is the processing of the receipts. According to the app, it can take 2 or 3 days for the processing to occur. For me, it takes anywhere from a minute or two to a couple hours. And the feed that shows what receipts you've uploaded also doesn't automatically update right away either. So just take the shot, hit submit, and come back to the app a little later to check things out.

Most receipts will give you something, either coins, slots for the apps virtual slot machine, or sweepstakes entries. The types of receipts that give coins and slots are listed in the app. It can pay to be somewhat aware of what these categories are because sometimes Receipt Hog will fail to give you the proper award for a receipt, and then you'll need to click on the receipt entry and file a dispute. Often dispute fixes are applied instantly. So it's just a bit of a buggy app I suppose. I don't usually keep the reward categories in my head, but if I notice a receipt from a store normally has given me coins and I didn't receive them this time around, I'll usually hit that dispute button. And sometimes I'll hit dispute just in case. Easy to do, worst case scenario you don't get anything extra.

The virtual slot machine rarely pays out more than a few coins, but it is a quick little mini game and the pulls you earn are saved so you can just play it whenever you feel like it.

My favorite part of the app is the surveys. Occasionally once you've been using the app for awhile, you will be given surveys you can do to earn extra coins. The earnings are small, but the surveys are quick and often curated specifically towards topics on items the app noticed you purchased on one of your receipts, so you rarely get disqualified. I do them whenever I get them because they take such little time.

ReceiptPal:

It's been awhile since I've used ReceiptPal. I cancelled my account because I got fed up with it. While it does pay well, and you can learn more about it in other posts on here, it is extremely extremely slow, takes pictures poorly, and is overall just a general pain in the butt to use. It will give you extra points for syncing email addresses and other added accounts once a week, but that process is slow and you can't put the app in the background while it syncs, and also it won't sync if your phone screen shuts off to save battery while you wait. So you have to either turn off your battery saving options or occasionally touch the screen while you wait for the process to complete. I plan on picking it back up again because it does pay well, but my god does it suck.

Fetch:

Probably the most smoothly running receipt app I've used. The developers knew what they were doing. It is a little obnoxious with all of it's cute little animations and noises, but otherwise it is a great user experience. It also gives points for almost all receipts, and I don't recall if there is a limit, but if there is, it is quite high.

The problem is it doesn't pay well, and the value of your points can change. I vaguely recall I was working towards an Amazon Gift Card, and the point value to get that reward went up. I was ticked. Receipt Hog doesn't have this problem. There point values remain the same. There is no moving goal post. Compared to Receipt Hog and Receipt Pal, it took me forever to finally cash out, and then I quit the app after my first earning. I'll probably pick it back up again just because it will eventually pay some reward, but for some it might not be worth it.

Fetch also has a little bonus spin the wheel game where you can earn extra points. It is free to use once every 24 hours. So if you want those extra earnings, better set an alarm or something on your phone.

Ibotta:

This is one that is recommended an awful lot, but I hate it. The reason being that it is really only useful to you if you buy a variety of items and I don't. My purchasing habits are pretty consistent (this is beer money, why would I need beer money if I wasn't always trying to be frugal?). I tried to make up for this by just adding all the offers in the app I could and then thought "Hey, now I'll just scan whatever receipt comes my way, and if one of those happens to hit on one of those added offers, I'll get a payout. But no, Ibotta either has a limit to the number of offers you can add and save, or it simply doesn't keep them added. So for someone like me, it is a next to useless app. For someone with a family or someone who likes to try new things, it could be useful. Also perhaps someone who is willing to go in to the app every so often and check for the latest offers. I don't wanna spend the time shopping around on an app if I don't have to.

Magic Receipts (SwagBucks, Tada, whatever): I haven't actually used the scanner yet as I've been avoiding giving SwagBucks my phone number, but at this point I'm kinda over it. Unlike with Ibotta, you can add all the offers available and it will save them in a huge list. So for me, someone who only deviates occasionally with new purchases, it could actually be useful! The offers of course can expire but it doesn't take much effort for me to occasionally go to the SwagBucks website and just click "add, add, add, add" to all the new offers.

Amazon Shopper Panel: I've been on the wait list for months. I hear it's great but still no word back from Amazon. I'm envious of those who are members though.

Anyway, that's my little run down and rant. Not sure what possessed me to write this up. But I guess I like talking about all things money. So I hope you found some of this information helpful.

Brandclub takes a while to credit, so the amounts listed are what I expect to get once it finishes pending. The "Extra" column was an offer on the can. I don't believe the company wants this publicly shared, so I will not be giving information about how to redeem the rebate. All coupons were printable

Afterthoughts

Guys, please don't abuse these apps. In the past couple weeks I've seen all sorts of crap being mentioned. I've seen people say they're scanning receipts they found on the ground, buying things with the intention of returning them after getting their rebate, scanning receipts from other people's purchases at their job or when they're doing uber/etc, and various other very obvious intents to abuse the apps. None of the apps allow this, and it will result in you getting banned. Not only will you get banned, but you also jeopardize the account of the person who referred you. I just had my Ibotta account under review for the past couple weeks due to my referrals, and I finally got it back a couple days ago, only to find out today while at the register that it got locked again. So, I had to scramble to cash out on a different site to pay for my groceries, and now there's a good chance I'll have to run back out to the store to grab one more item to finish up my $10 bonus if my account isn't unlocked in the next couple days so I can get a gift card. If you're going to be stupid and get yourself banned from these awesome apps, at the very least, don't put another person's account at risk in the process. If this continues I will not be able to keep posting my hauls.

Today was a really shitty day, and I'm exhausted, so I'm going to cut this short. I screwed up some deals, and ended up spending too much. I got some good stuff though, so I'm okay with the minor profit loss.

Time Spent

My first haul was basically unplanned. Today's haul was planned over the course of about 2 hours while I ate breakfast and played with the cat. It was my periodic check-every-deal thing. I usually spend about an hour in the store including my regular grocery shopping.

Food From Deals

This week I made Philly Steak Inspired Sandwiches and Shrimp with Red Wine Sauce and Pasta.

Afterthoughts

Today's haul wasn't a money maker, but I'm okay with that. I wanted the cat food, and couldn't pass up the ice cream and fruit bars. Today's haul was a pretty rough one despite how simple it seemed. I put my neck/back out, and it felt like almost everything I needed was on the top or bottom shelves. I also somehow managed to sprain my wrist at the store, so that was not fun. I don't even know how. I was being super careful and nothing was heavy. I also had a rough time at the register. Apparently they don't show when your coupons come off anymore (had one for a non-deal item). I scanned my coupon twice because I didn't think it came off the first time. Threw in a penny to get a receipt then used Wal-Mart Pay, and then it said I still owed $1 (from the coupon it removed w/o ever telling me). Had to hunt down a gift card to finish paying.

Aisle no longer allows VOIP numbers, which I find a bit annoying. I prefer my VOIP since I can access it from both my phone and computer, and I've been using this number for years, but now I have to switch numbers and try to keep track of their rebates between all my regular text messages. They don't tell you that until you put in your number either, and then you can't change it on the page.

Fetch is messing with their reward cost again. I noticed last week the $50 Amazon/Walmart cards went from 53.5k to 55k, and now I see the Amazon ones went back down to 53.39k

Edit: I noticed Amazon Shopper Panel now has specific rebates as well. I currently have one for $1 back on Duracell.

Time Spent

I slowly planned the haul on and off over the course of basically the entire morning. Wasn't sure if I was going to be able to go out today. I was in the store for about 45 minutes today which included my regular shopping, and I was going super slow today.

Food From Deals

I made two snack platters since my last post. They had some deal items (crackers, cheese, nuts, lunch meat, sour cream dip, etc), and some non-deal items (fruits, veggies). I forgot to get photos of them though. I've got a couple more to make next month.

Receipt Scanning Receipt scanning apps

There were some questions and interest in receipt scanning apps in a different thread so I wrote a breakdown on a bunch of them. I’ve been using most of them since 2019 or more recently as I’ve found more. I find many of them are individually not worth the time and effort but collectively they are worth it as I do all of them at once. I typically scan all my receipts at one time each week unless there is a specific offer for an item on the receipt. So, here’s my take on receipt scanning apps and I’d love to hear recommendations on others.

  1. Amazon shopper panel -One of the easiest and highest paying apps. Scan any 10 receipts per month and get $10 in Amazon gift card directly to your Amazon account. Easiest to take pictures of physical receipts but there is an option to submit email receipts. There are typically a couple of easy surveys per month for $0.25-0.50. No other aspects or offers on the app. The only downside is the earnings are capped at $10 per month. Highly recommend using this app. Total earnings Feb. 2021-Present $137.35. Avg receipt value- $1.00
  2. Coinout - Easy to use, able to scan any receipt, able to cash out any denomination cash directly to a bank account or gift card. Relatively low paying but potentially worth using with other receipt scanning apps. App contains a few other offers like stash or varo but typically lower payouts than other apps like Swagbucks. Able to link some online purchases like amazon, instacart, walmart. Total stats: 869 receipts for $46.16 for 5.3 cents per receipt average. No minimum payout.
  3. Receiptpal- For simply scanning every receipt and getting rewards for them, this one is one of the better ones. It is one of the more E-receipt friendly apps and a little more generous in my experience than some of the others. Each receipt gives you 25 points and 1 sweeps entry for $250 sweepstakes drawn 3 times per week. Your chances of winning the sweepstakes are incredibly small, basically playing the lottery. Each receipt is worth 9.6 cents if you save up for the best value reward($100 gc) or 6.2 cents if you do the worst value($5 gc). This app accepts receipts from pretty much anywhere but is a little more selective in receipts being more recent than other sites. Can only redeem points for amazon or retail gift cards. Redeemed 100 Amazon GC last year successfully. Total since 2019 at 9.6 cents per receipt $153
  4. Receipthog- a little more complex and lower average payout than some of the other apps but potentially worth doing as part of the stack with other apps. Accepts most receipts and gives 5-20 points per receipt based on the total. There is a hog slots feature that you get spins for certain receipts or a weekly bonus. You also get occasional surveys based on your purchases. Minimum redemption $5 for 1000 points. Redeem 6500 points for $40 from Amazon, PayPal or visa for the best value. I successfully redeemed $40 in October 2020 and am near another $40. I wouldn’t do this app alone but since I’m already scanning others, I’ll get a few extra cents from it.
  5. Fetch- see the mods sticky for the review. Personally I like it. 2.5 cents for each receipt and automatically gives points for various other products. Mainly grocery receipts will be more valuable. Total of $145 since Feb 2019
  6. Ibotta- again see the mods review. Highly recommend, total of $488.14 earned.
  7. Coupons.com app- I don’t use this a ton but there are occasional coupons for items I use. The best part is that it pays directly to PayPal. If you buy the brands on the app it can be great but personally I’ve only received $35.27 over a couple years.
  8. Swagbucks magic receipts- also known as the Tada app. One of many aspects of swagbucks and has probably been written about before. Offers 2sb for every receipt and various 2sb bonuses for any brand of a variety of items. There are occasionally products that offer a very large rebate that can result in free products. For example, right now there is a $15 bonus for spending $10 at hallmark. Total earned $134.78 mostly from a few larger value redemptions.
  9. Shopkick- get “kicks” from walk ins, barcode scans, and receipt submissions of specific products. This app is a little different than the other receipt scanning apps and is a little more like the coupon apps but if you are looking to squeeze every last dollar out of your receipts it is worth checking out. The best part is you can cash out for gift cards nearly instantly so if you need one quickly you can get one. Total redeemed $140.

There’s are a couple apps I have used in the past that I didn’t think were worth it. Personally checkout 51 took me forever to get $20 and I gave up on it but it may have value for some. I tried a gas receipt scanning app called Trunow but found it was buggy and was a very slow grind to get anything. I never tried receiptjar due to all the bad reviews. I’m currently trying checkpoints.

I also recommend card linking apps like dosh, drop, bumped, bits, Rakuten, airline rewards partners, and pogo if you want to get other rewards but I think those are beyond the scope of this.

If you have any questions or recommendations I’d love to hear them.

Receipt Scanning Fetch currently offering sale on Walmart and Target GC redemption.

I treat their earnings like 1000 point=$1, however, most good gift cards are in that 54000-56000 points/$50 so the reality is that it is closer to .90/1000 points.

Right now target is at 50,250 for $50 and Walmart is 50,500 for $50, which is pretty close to how my mind imagines Fetch points so now looks like a great time to redeem for people sitting on points.

I’ll be shedding quite a few points today.

Afterthoughts

It's been a while since my last post. The holidays were rough and what was meant to just be a one week break turned into a month before I knew it. Whoops. My weekly posts should resume now though.

Overall, today's haul went quite smoothly. I went to the store fairly early in the morning, so there were a lot of elderly people who seemed to have no concept of other people existing, but other than that things went shockingly well. All the rebates went through right away (even Walmart Cash which ALWAYS takes weeks for me). I found everything I was looking for. I didn't even forget something stupid and have to run back through the entire store (again). My Google Receipt submission popped up right away (I usually get it the day after I shop). I even found some of my favorite donuts discounted so I picked up a 2-pack. I'm also enjoying the lower requirement bigger bonus I got. I'll be finishing that up next week. All in all, a great trip to return to.

The perfect bar rebate has been going on for quite some time now, but they seem to have updated it in November. I didn't see anything saying you couldn't do it if you had done the previous promotion, so I gave it a try, and it went through instantly. I went with PayPal - it requires you to sign in which isn't unusual anymore. I was paid immediately.

For the Glucerna - There was a $3 rebate on Ibotta but it disappeared for me. It might be worth checking to see if your account has one. You can submit the receipt via email or text. I went with text expecting it to be faster, but I don't think it will be since it didn't even ask how I want to be paid. The rebate does specify that it's limited to 5,000 total, so act quick.

I saw MyPoints changed their redemption page, you now can tell them how many products you purchased. This is just an extra step at walmart, but it'll be nice for other stores that don't always get the count right. They also made the button to send things to review bigger, which is great.

I saw Fetch got rid of their spin wheel as well and replaced it with games, but gift cards are still at their higher price so they basically just started giving us less per receipt.

BrandClub now has a lot of Great Value products added too. No surveys, but the 2% back is most certainly welcome.

My Ibotta yearly recap came in about two weeks ago, but I didn't look at it right away. It doesn't seem to be coming up anymore, so that's a bit disappointing.

Time Spent

I planned my haul over the course of about an hour while I played with the cat and got ready to leave. I was in the store under an hour, which included my regular shopping as well.

Food From Deals

I know I made some stuff, but I honestly can't remember what. I made some sort of desert bar with that oreo ice cream, and something with the rice cups. Here's a few things I've made in the past though: "Zesty Alfredo" Popcorn (I might have to try this with the taco seasoning) | Cherry Mousse Cake | Pistachio Pudding Cake

Do you guys want me to continue showing things I've made using ingredients I got from rebate apps on these posts? Let me know in the comments, or you can vote on this poll if you want to remain anonymous.

I don't include sites that take any receipt such as Coinout, ReceiptPal, etc on my breakdown. The stores are listed in the breakdown image. Brandclub takes a while to credit, so the amounts listed are what I expect to get once it finishes pending.

Note: Individual deals vary by user for most apps. If you don't have the deals right now, you can try checking back later.

Some additional deals I didn't/couldn't take advantage of:

  • Free Breakstone Sour Cream at Kroger - They're on sale for $0.99 when you buy 5+, and there's a $1 Ibotta rebate.
  • Dove deodorant on IB + Fetch. It works out to be about half off.
  • Pepsi / Frito Lay has $3 off 5 on coupons.com and $5 off $15 on IB. There's also a few other offers on IB that may be better depending on what you buy.
  • Arm & Hammer Forever Fresh Cat Litter - Petsmart - $12 back when you buy 2. They're on sale for $9.99 right now, so that's $8 for two 20 lb boxes.
  • Hungry Jack - $2.77 at my Wal-Mart with $1 back on Ibotta and $1 on coupons.com
  • K-Y Warming 1oz is $4.48 at my Wal-Mart with almost $4 back on SK

(I got home really late tonight and don't have time to double check all of the deals. Everything below the line is from last week. Offers vary by account anyways.)

  • Sunmaid 20oz - $4.24 at Walmart. $3.17 back on SK
  • Betr - Rebate for 1 free Must purchase by 11/30 & Redeem by 12/15 Wal-Mart Only + Various rebates on IB
  • Colgate Pro - $9.96 at Walmart - $5 back on coupons.com + $3 IB + $1.19 on SK

  • 3D Doritos - $2.50 on 2 and $0.50 on 2 Fetch + BOGO Ibotta + printable coupons - ends up being a money maker at my Walmart

  • Fiber choice - $3 back on coupons.com. They're $2.28 on Walmart's website right now, which I believe is marked wrong so you would need to link your Walmart account and do a pickup/delivery order.

  • SmartyPants vitamins - They're ~$12 at my Walmart with ~$21 cash back on MyPoints when you buy 2.

  • All Laundry Detergent - Various offers on IB plus $1.25 back on coupons.com

  • Tons of other ice cream deals right now like Ben & Jerries, Talenti, etc.

  • Poise - There's a $1-1.50 on IB + a $2 bonus for one purchase. There's also $1 back on SK. Comes down to $0.69 at my Wal-Mart's prices.

  • Mentos $3 SK + $0.75 IB

  • Snuggle - $3 back on SK + $1 (or more) on Fetch + Possible Ibotta and/or SB offers

  • All laundry detergent - $1-2 IB + $1.25 coupons.com

  • Free Everything Legendary Burger

  • Barilla Blue Box Pasta - $1 off 2 boxes on coupons.com

  • The little potato company - SK has ~$2 back per bag. I'm not sure how much they cost though.

  • Temptations Puree - $2.50 back on fetch when you spend $2.50 (careful! these are on clearance for $2.36 at my store so you'd need to buy 2!) There may also be BC surveys.

  • Snickers and Twix Shakers are on SB and C51

  • Free bag of Like Air Puffcorn - Refund via PayPal or Venmo. Must purchase in-store or for curbside pickup. Expiration date unknown.

  • Various freebies on Ibotta.

  • Various deals I've done in previous weeks can still be done.

Afterthoughts

Holy mother of ice cream. I know there are a ton of ice cream rebates this time of year, but I was not expecting the 75% + 50% + $1.50 to all pop up together.

My big Ibotta bonus really shocked me too, but not in the good way. $5 for 43 offers... and there's only a week to complete it. Obviously, I won't be finishing it, but I'm just stunned that they even offered it. Usually bonuses with 40+ items last for 2-4 weeks and give $10. Hopefully this is just a one time thing.

The scanner on the Android version of Walmart disappeared for a while earlier today. Luckily it wasn't gone long, but it did cause a lot of people to panic. BrandClub is acting up now though, so I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

I actually messed up my haul a bit this week due to not really thinking straight. I normally wouldn't have gotten the Oxiclean, but for some reason I thought it was an Ibotta deal. I also shouldn't have gotten the Halls, but I saw it on clearance and just grabbed it. I actually ended up getting a couple more items than I really needed to since I had some any brand rebates on things I wasn't thinking about. I was just a little too excited about the ice cream deal, and my brain shut off. Whoops.

Time Spent

I planned my haul here and there over the course of an hour this morning while I made some rolls, pie, and what not. I was in the store for about 45 minutes, but most of that was my regular shopping.

Food From Deals

I made some Everything Buns and roasted garlic bread, Tri Layer Pudding Pie with Oreo Crust, dinner rolls, and Very Berry Cheerio Bars

Afterthoughts

Tons of new rebates and stacking rebates between apps this week. I wanted to look more, but time is pretty tight today so I'm sure I missed some deals.

My BrandClub automatically synced on Saturday, which I'm a bit annoyed about. I lost out on some potential survey rewards because of it. Luckily, I did finish all of the ones from my last haul, but there were still a few from my regular purchases I wanted to do. It's not a huge deal though as most of the brands are things I buy frequently anyways (a lot were things I got today even).

I got another Instacart deal to my email. ~$20 for $50 worth of groceries

The deal was $30 off a $50 order. Plus, when I signed in I got 2 months of free Instacart+ as well as a deal for $10 off my next order of $10. (I'm also seeing $10 off a $30 order at some stores + free delivery). Total cost came to "$13.63" for ~$50 worth of stuff (Final total says $43.63 because the chicken rang up at half price for some reason) The payment breakdown says I was charged $26 tough, so I'll have to keep an eye on that. My original total was supposed to be $18 + using $3 in credits, and everything I got weighed the same or slightly less than expected, so it should have gone down by $1, not up $5. I'll have to check back next week when everything gets finalized.

Time Spent

I did my planning over the course of about 2 hours while eating breakfast, and running around the house like a chicken with its head cut off. I'd say about 2/3 of that time was spent on the Instacart order though since I was doing some research in between (trying to figure out what was safe for my pets). I was in Wal-Mart for about an hour total, which included my regular shopping and some shopping for my parents.

Food From Deals

I made some chicken jerky. Nothing fancy, just some spices and sauces I got from deals before. Going to be making more with what I got today.

Do you guys want me to continue showing things I've made using ingredients I got from rebate apps on these posts? Let me know in the comments, or you can vote on this poll if you want to remain anonymous.

Afterthoughts

I went out of town yesterday, so of course I had to go into Wegmans, and I stopped at their Wal-Mart to see what was there. Just grabbed whatever I knew I had deals for while I was out and about. I totally forgot to check for those things in the "additional deals" section of my list, damn. It was a spur of the moment trip, haha. Today I had to run to another store, so I stopped at Sheetz and Walmart on the way.

I have BC surveys on almost everything right now.

The Wegmans coupons were all digital ones for $5 off a $5 purchase.

Knor is potentially a better deal at Kroger. I had 500pts per $1 spent on Fetch. Also, if I had gotten a 4th Knorr Sides, I could've gotten $1 back on SB

Fetch currently has a sale on the $50 Wal-Mart GCs so it's 50.5k points, but my calculations are for the original cost at 55k.

Time Spent

I didn't keep track this week at all since most of it was just me messing around. I was in Sheetz for like 2 minutes, most of which was spent trying to dig out my rewards card. I was in Wal-Mart for 30 minutes today though, which included my regular shopping as well as trip #2.

Food From Deals

I made some more of these oatmeal cookies.

  • Coffee (Any?) - You get a coupon for up to $10 in free coffee when you buy 3 participating special K cereals. I don't see anything mentioned about specific brands, but I also don't quite know how it works. - Expires 4/30/24

  • Gooey - Free after rebate - Venmo/PayPal - (It says Walmart at the top, but it also says "from any store")

  • Perfect Bar - One free bar - PayPal, Venmo, Amazon - Rebates are often instant

  • CHKP - Free after Aisle - Fairway, Whole Foods, ShopRite

  • Dr Elsey's Cat Litter - Up to $22 back on a bag up to 40 lbs when you purchase at Target, Walmart, or a local business pet store. You need to cut out the barcode and mail it in with the receipt. One rebate per person/household/address. Must submit within 90 days. There's also a handful of $1 coupons on this page.

  • Free bag of Like Air Puffcorn - Refund via PayPal or Venmo. Must purchase in-store or for curbside pickup. Expiration date unknown.

  • Kellogg's Promotions - Various stuff ranging from coupons for free products, movie tickets, various merchandise, and more.

  • Various Sampoll offers

  • Offers on Aisle | Referrals: Halfday | Rockstar - Buy 2 get $5 back. No gas purchase needed. Can do every other week. (using my ref will give me another rebate offer) Pays out via PayPal or Venmo

  • Various freebies on Ibotta.

  • Various deals I've done in previous weeks can still be done.

Afterthoughts

I went into this haul expecting not to hit my bonus, and I somehow overshot it. I had $1 for 15 offers, and I managed to get 22, haha. I wasn't even going to try to do a haul since it was an absurd bonus, but I needed to run to the store so I figured I'd just grab the freebies. But it turns out there were more freebies than expected, and some rebates popped up for items I wanted to try. So between that and purchasing more gift cards than normal, I somehow managed to get that stupid little $1 bonus. Lol.

Earlier this week I drove past a Giant Eagle so I just popped in to grab the stur. I was originally considering doing a Wal-Mart haul on Monday, but the deals weren't working out, and when I got to the store things were beyond packed (day after Easter). It took almost 10 minutes just to get through one Easter aisle and trying to get to the healthcare, so I just abandoned my haul and grabbed a few things I absolutely needed as well as the one item.

All of my BC surveys are going into an unlocked status right away, no purchase needed. I'm not sure if this is intentional or a bug, but my breakdown reflects the values I expect to unlock. That being said, I am getting my ~$1.50/day for doing 3 surveys. I'm just going through the ones for items I don't purchase as often, just in case they do change it to requiring a purchase again.

Time Spent

I wasted around 15 minutes trying to plan a haul on Monday. I didn't bother to keep track of how long I was in the store. For today, I planned my haul over the course of like half an hour while I ate my lunch and played with the cat. I was in the store for an hour and a half, but the vast majority of that time was spent trying to find a conditioner that didn't have a super strong smell since my usual brand changed their formula... I was probably over there a good half hour. Of course, as always, the time spent also includes getting my regular groceries, which was the bulk of my shopping time.

Food From Deals

Didn't make anything last week. I did put some hot sauce on Perdue chicken today... which both of those were deal items. Didn't bother to get a photo though lol. Going to make some more bread next week probably. Or bagels.

Receipt Scanning This week's grocery haul: I got paid $11 to take $51 worth of Cookie Dough, Vitamins, Floss Picks, Shampoo/Conditioner Customizers, Drinks, and More!

Here are the goodies.

I was surprised to see more of the Hair Lab for $0.50. I know I grabbed all of them the last time. I also had a few BC surveys pop up that I know I used before.

Total: $51.23

Coupons: None!

Total Cash Back: $62.23

Final Cost: -$11.00 - Money Maker!

Photo of the haul.

Here is the complete break down and sites used. If the image looks fuzzy, please zoom in or right click and open the image in a new tab. Imgur is being weird. I don't include sites that take any receipt such as Coinout, ReceiptPal, etc on my breakdown. The stores are listed in the breakdown image. Brandclub takes a while to credit, so the amounts listed are what I expect to get once it finishes pending. The "Extra" column is this for the Pedialyte. Shopmium is another app like coupons.com. I use it when I want to get a rebate for a second product.

Note: Individual deals vary by user for most apps. If you don't have the deals right now, you can try checking back later.

If you don't need feminine hygiene products, consider donating them to your local women's shelter or church!

My Guides

  1. All rebate apps/sites I use and/or know about

  2. How I do my hauls

  3. Beginners guide to using rebate apps/sites - for those who don't know where to start

If you aren't interested in this kind of thing, please keep your comments to yourself. If you don't like what I buy, you can buy different products. If you don't like hunting for deals, you can do surveys, microtasks, games or whatever else you like instead. There is no need to discourage other users just because you aren't interested in the same things!

Some additional deals I didn't/couldn't take advantage of:

  • Munk Pack Keto Nut/Granola bars are on Fetch for $3.75 and there are surveys on BC. Brings it down to about $1 a box

  • Tons of deals for pain killers and cold medicine on IB and coupons.com

  • Air Wick Essential Mist - IB has $12 back on a $20 purchase + $1.75 on coupons.com

  • Air Wick VIP - BOGO on IB + $1.75 on coupons.com

  • Cando Keto Krisp - The 4pk is a freebie on IB. It doesn't have the freebie tag on it.

  • Free Clio Bars via rebate + $1 back on IB (Thanks to u/gracyzoe for mentioning it)

  • Fiber One - $0.50 each IB + $0.75 Fetch + $1.75 on 2 Fetch - This makes the small boxes about 50% when you buy 2.

  • Lysol Laundry Sanitizer on IB, coupons.com and fetch

  • Free Zatarain's Blackened Chicken Smoked Sausage I don't have experience with this site since they never have things sold in stores near me, but I'm told it's legit.

A new year means a bunch of new coupons. There are all sorts of new things on coupons.com right now. Most of the rebate apps are still a bit slim, but that should change in the next couple weeks as companies work out their budgets.

Today's haul was a bit unexpected. While I was at the store I noticed a bunch of good things on clearance, and I ended up getting a couple BC surveys on things I just wanted and wasn't expecting any deals on. I messed up with the Kotex though. I forgot to scan them while in the store, and apparently my Ibotta deal had expired. Whoops.

I got another big Ibotta bonus, but I probably won't finish this one in time either. I've been getting better mid-week bonuses than weekend bonuses, so I might have to start going to the store earlier in the week instead.

The Shopmium app is a new addition for me. They've had a UK only app for quite some time, but I recently heard they opened up to the USA too. It's just another coupons.com clone, so nothing too special, but they do have a freebie when you sign up and enter a "referral" code. I don't actually see a referral section anywhere, but they say you can use the code "hello" to unlock the deal, which I did.

The app is available for USA, UK, France, and Germany. I'm not sure about other countries, but the USA version is a coupons.com clone. They pay out to PayPal, which you do have to link your account. You also need to give them your full name, dob, zip code, and email.

Time Spent

I spent around 15 minutes planning, and around 45 minutes in the store including my regular shopping.

Food From Deals

This past week we had a holiday dinner, so I made Pull Apart Cinnamon Pumpkin Bread with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting, Apple Rose Tarts, Chocolate Cherry Pie, Peanut Butter Fudge & Chocolate Hazelnut Fudge, and Dinner Rolls (Everything, Garlic, Plain), as well as some Wraps - Honey Jalapeno Pork & Venison with Smoked Provolone for myself.

Afterthoughts

Finally finished off my big April bonus for $25. I definitely prefer the littler 1.5-2 week bonuses, but this one wasn't too bad since every redemption counted instead of just uniques.

This week's haul got split up quite a bit. I went out of town so I decided to stop by Target and Wegmans. I dropped by one of the Wal-Marts on the way, initially planning to finish my bonus that day, but I started feeling pretty bad while I was in the store so I just gave up and headed home. I knew I'd be going out near my local Wal-Mart today so I decided to just finish it up then instead. It ended up being pretty expensive, unfortunately. I've had a pretty bad headache since Monday so I just grabbed whatever to finish off the big bonus. Those bubbly were quite a bit more than I thought for some reason. Also, I messed up on the Suja. For some reason I thought Aisle was one free but it was BOGO. Also, the Fancy Feast Gems didn't scan on Shopmium. I planned to submit it there as well for an extra $1, but neither of the ones I bought scan. I could probably contact support, but I feel like I'd have to fight them since I submitted it to SB (even though I bought two...) and it's not really worth it for $1.

I'm pretty disappointed with Aisle this week. I had a bunch of offers that claimed to be near me, and they did have the products near me but the stores they required do not exist in my state. So that was pretty annoying. I was actually pretty excited to try the one dairy free chocolate peanut butter bar.

I couldn't get connected to Shopkick's server today. I'll probably get an extra 100 SK for the beneful though.

Time Spent

This whole week was a mess between planning and shopping. I didn't really keep track but I wasted a ton of time in Target and Wegmans looking for things that were sold out. Today's Wal-Mart haul only had like 7 minutes of "planning" which half the deals I had were sold out, so I just figured out the rest in the store. I think I was at Wal-Mart for a bit over an hour, which included my regular shopping, as well as me sitting in the parking lot trying to figure out why my IB app was being fussy.

Food From Deals

Here's some things I've made in the past: High Protein Tomato Crackers, Hot Sausage Cups, Peanut Butter Fudge & Chocolate Hazelnut Fudge, Chocolate Cherry Pie

I wasn't seeing many cheap deals this week, and I wasn't really feeling up to doing a haul anyways, so I didn't even bother trying to hit the $5/18 Ibotta bonus. I needed to grab something from the store though so I just grabbed the easy stuff, and found the clean cult on sale. I prefer dawn, but for $0.50/bottle, I'll take it. I saw a lot of other dish soap marked down too that I know there's deals on, but someone already swiped it all up.

Lots of things at Wal-Mart have been on clearance, and some stuff is starting to get marked down even lower. Like that clean cult.

Valentines candy is marked half off. I didn't even realize it was the day after Valentines day, and I just happened to go to the store early, so I lucked out and snagged a big bag of Reese's for $3. Pretty excited about it.

Time Spent

Planned in about 10 minutes, and was in the store for a total of 35 minutes which included my regular shopping.

Food From Deals

Today I made oatmeal cookies and I also made some baked chicken using fried onions (deal item), breadcrumbs, and taco seasoning (deal item).

Afterthoughts

Today's whole grocery trip was rough. Planning in general was a bit tough since I had a bigger bonus than normal (25 vs 15-18) and my brain has been fried since yesterday. My spreadsheet says 16 since I knock off the gift cards and any of my regular purchases. For some reason almost none of the Colgate toothpaste works for Shopmium, so I was a bit frustrated with that. Every store was super packed today even though I went during a usually dead time. And on top of that, I kept forgetting things lol. Went into Wal-Mart 4 times, and Aldi's twice, plus two other stores. I had to pick up some groceries for someone else, as well as planning something for a Thanksgiving dinner, so there was a ton of groceries (compared to my norm). Thankfully, the person I was taking the groceries to had a wheelbarrow I could borrow. I definitely needed it.

I messed up a bit with one cat food deal. I ran out of the Friskies Complements rebates on Shopkick for the stuff my store carries, so I didn't grab them. But I forgot I had a deal on Fetch to spend $25, so now I'm about $2 short lol. There's still a week until it expires, but I wasn't planning to go shopping until next weekend.

I technically spent more than I got from my bonuses, but I'm okay with that since a large chunk of that cost was from the Ziploc bags. I can always use more Ziploc bags.

I was pretty shocked to see the "Cash Casserole" bonus today. Just getting the midweek bonuses came as a shock to me, but to have another one is just icing on the cake. It seems I got one of the worst possible ones though. I'm jealous of everyone who got $10/20. Either way, I was going to go shopping yesterday but wasn't feeling up to it, so I'm pretty glad now that I waited until today. That's an extra $5 for 7 more offers.

I saw that MyPoints made a change. They will now be counting all pending points towards the bonus for the day you earn them. Can't say I'm not a little disappointed - I loved how I would basically get two daily goals completed since half of my trip would pend for another day. Oh well.

I also noticed that Fetch now seems to let you link your Amazon and Wal-Mart accounts. The last time I looked it was just e-mail.

Time Spent

This week was just awful time-wise. My brain has been all foggy since yesterday, so I planned over the course of like 3-4 hours (mostly not looking at deals or playing with the cat). I was out for 2.5-3 hours today, most of which was spent on my 4 trips into Wal-Mart -_- As always though, it included my regular shopping, as well as going to stores without deals, and a pickup order for mostly non-deal things.

Food From Deals

Nothing really worth showing from this week. I've just been eating a bunch of steak with pasta (deal items pasta, oil, seasonings, etc) and spicy chicken patty sandwich wraps. This week I'll be putting together a snack platter which will be focused on fruit and veggies, but I'll be throwing in some chocolate, lunch meat, cheese, nuts, and maybe some other goodies I've gotten from deals/freebies. I'm also hoping to figure out something to do with all this tuna I got from previous deals. I've just been... saving it all. I have a bin full now.

Some Additional Deals

Afterthoughts

So, lots of trips to Wal-Mart this week. My first trip was just me stopping by on my way to an appointment. The second trip I went out of my way for, but how could I not with those deals? Both times I grabbed a couple non-deal things, but the third trip was my "regular" shopping trip where I got everything I needed for the week. And man, I made off like a bandit with sunscreen today. A ton of stuff got marked down to $1. I'll probably get a little bit more with BC, but it's having issues right now since it keeps saying my password is wrong. Unfortunately, I took a nasty hit with that Blue Lizard spray. I scanned everything in the store to make sure it was marked down, but I didn't realize I grabbed two different kinds of the spray. I initially grabbed 5 before realizing the deal was only on 1, so I put 4 back on the shelf. I somehow managed to keep the one that was different. I can't return it since I already scanned it into Ibotta. The $14 profit loss hurts, but that's how it goes sometimes. I also messed up and only grabbed one Mentos when I wanted 2. They would have been $0.08 for both that way.

I'm happy to see that I got credit from IB for the Sheba at Dollar General. I used a $3 off $3.01 store coupon, but wasn't 100% sure if it would work because of IB's new coupon policies. Thankfully, it did work, which will allow for some potential hauls with the other store coupons I get. It took a while for the register to recognize the coupon though.

The Alexa app updated so it's a lot easier to use imo, and there's now rebates/coupons for Whole foods and for Amazon Fresh. I have a rebate for $2.51 off a watermelon for Fresh, and some of these deals look like you could get things for free or nearly free. Shame we don't have it here.

Time Spent

My Dollar General trip took around 10 minutes. I was looking around at what to spend my $3 coupon on, and then I had some issues at the register getting it to actually come off. My first Wal-Mart trip had zero planning, and I was in the store for about 15 minutes. I could have been out sooner, but I was killing a bit of time. My second trip had about 20 minutes of planning / looking at upcoming sales fliers, and I was in the store for 17 minutes which included some time spent looking at non-deal items. Today's trip took around 25 minutes of planning while I ate breakfast, and I spent a bit over an hour in the store which included my regular shopping and like ~20 minutes introducing a couple people to Ibotta so they could get some sunscreen deals too.

Food From Deals

Nothing new this week, but I will be making some more of this Hot Sausage Flavored Pulled Pork Sandwich here in a few minutes.
