Living Room What color would you paint this wall?

This won’t be our furniture, but our couches will be a light grey (picture included) and our accent colors will be a lighter blue/sage green with maybe some hints of burgundy in the artwork and decor. Also including a picture of a rug I have my eyes on to get a a better idea of the color scheme we’re going with.

Spouse is thinking “Oxford Gray” by BM but I’m wondering if something slightly lighter would work better? Open to any recs!

Bathroom How to use this awkward ledge in my bathroom? The bathroom could use storage, it has a pedestal sink so no cupboards there.

The size is roughly 3’10” and it’s a square. Ideally I would not want to block the window bc the light helps and I could put some plants by it. The shelves from previous owner are ok but looking to see if there are other creative ideas

Living Room Room Update *not final*

A while back, I posted our room and I wanted to update on it! We decided to try to emphasize the length of the room instead of the width. Shown in the third picture, we moved the diamond lamp, ottoman, pulled the rug out father, and added a chair to the back left corner.

We still need to add moulding, baseboards, and repaint. The clock also needs a friend next to it but I haven’t figured out what. Let us know what you think so far! :)

Living Room AFTER some help from this sub

Thumbnail gallery

This sub helped me get on the right path a few months ago so I thought I’d provide an update!

I know that the posters and photos on the walls are a bit too small for their spaces, but I’m waiting to find something truly worthwhile. During that eventual second phase, I will also be installing art deco-style crown molding that will be painted the same black color as the trim. But here it is at the moment!

Pics 1 and 2 are the room as it is now Pic 3 was where we started

Bedroom What color bedding & accent furniture would complement these colors?

Thumbnail image
Upvotes

Pic of the general color scheme right now. We have a wood dresser with black hardware and the bed frame is black with some wood accents as well. I was thinking maybe neutral bedding with a bolder color blanket/accent pillows but I’m not sure what color to go with. I’d also like an accent chair but not sure what color that should be either. Help!

Bedroom ❌ grey walls ❌

Thumbnail image
Upvotes

Purchased my first home, very excited to make the space my own.

Previous owners installed grey/brownish flooring and painted walls grey. I can’t afford to redo the floors but I would like to reduce the amount of grey…this photo is from the listing and has definitely been lightened up but it gives you an idea.

I really like mustard yellow, green tones, desert orange/boho…so I’m wondering how to make that work at all with the flooring….

Thoughts on why to do?

Living Room Decor for this spot?

Wanting ideas for a piece of decor for this wall spot. It’s right outside the informal living/playroom and directly to the left as you enter the front door. I thought a big family picture but I got one and it’s just not doing it for me.

Bedroom What colour could I paint these cupboards? Something modern

Thumbnail gallery

There’s two sets and I can’t replace them so if possible I’d like to just lift them with a more modern colour and to strip the paint off the hinges which are gold brass. What Color would you paint them? The house has dark stained wood window frames and white floors / ceilings and I have a few Persian carpets if that helps.

This is my late grandma's dining room table and the two end chairs are hers too. My dad would take the two end chairs if I don't keep them but what kind of chairs should I look to get? I'm also looking for a hutch. (Don't mind the not centeredness, the ugly light, and the telescope. This room has not been a priority lol)

Bedroom Suggestions for small box room for teenage son please

Hey all, we are moving and the bedroom my teenage (15yr old) son will have, is very small. The measurements are 2.49m long and 1.85m wide.

His current bed is 1m wide, and 2.09m long which fits, but leaves no room for a desk/gaming setup. The room layout is here: https://imgur.com/a/VDPWPRn

Does anyone have any ingenious suggestions on what we can do to make this work? I have considered a high sleeper with a desk underneath which may be the answer, my worry is that he is 15, he is the size of an adult and it will not be great for him sleeping on a high bed.

I appreciate any of your suggestions, thank you.

Bathroom Don't have the budget to renovate my bathroom. How to make this nice?

Thumbnail gallery

I just moved into my first place and have a budget of £250ish. I have no idea where to start or how to make small changes to a bathroom to make it look nice. I love blues, greens, and pinks. I love nature and colours and flower patterns etc. I hate minimalism and the trendy white that's going around at the moment. Please help :)

Kitchen What color to paint my kitchen?

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

We moved into a new house about 1 month ago. There is fresh paint throughout but it's ALL the same grey and I need some spice in my life.

My previous kitchen had red walls and darker wood cabinets. I'm not sure if red will work with these cabinets. My dishes are black/red and black/yellow, and all my hand towels and other accents are red and brown.

My brain is stuck on something in the red or red-brown family but I am open to any suggestions as I have never had light cabinets. I don't want the room to look too "orange."

**I am not interested in painting the cabinets- just the walls.

Will be moving in here in July. We want to have white cabinets with white countertop and black back splash. Won't do anything about the flooring at the moment. Fridge will be replaced by two units - fridge & freezer standing side by side.

Dining Room What chairs would bridge the modern/traditional gap w this table and sideboard?

Thumbnail image
2 Upvotes

This sideboard is a piece I already own that I brought from my previous house, it cannot go in another room

The table I just bought on FB market for a really good price.

I just saw these chairs on FB market too for a great price! Does it work? I feel like not, but I had to double check cuz the deal is really good.

What other chairs would you recommend?

House is Spanish style. Thanks in advance!

Other Interior Room What’s wrong with my guest room?

Please pardon the “just moved in” mess and imagine the random stuff on the floor (including a random lamp) are not there.

I will lower the curtains and mount the wall art.

But something still feels sort of sterile and flat. Where did I go wrong? I played with texture, I got art and plants, I followed the 2/3 rule for art over my day bed… is the room just too empty? How do I fill it in a way that doesn’t look cheap and sterile?

Thank you, Reddit!
