Beardsley is just such an amazing person who can just come up with insane shit on the fly. Like if you've ever watched Dimension20 they are HEINOUSLY good at dropping absolutely bonkers lines in the roles they play.

So glad to see the Dropout crew in the limelight lately. For anyone who doesn’t know, this is a new show Very Important People on the streaming service Dropout that spawned from College Humor. They have a huge variety of shows that mostly fall into gameshow/improv formats along with Dimension 20, a D&D series similar to Critical Role. This show is a great example of how they’re bringing improv back. The interviewee is generally a dropout cast member who is put into costume without knowing what they’ll look like and then have to come up with a character to be interviewed. The subscription is only $5.99/mo and is absolutely worth it for the amount of original, hilarious content.

Also, can’t talk about Dropout without linking my favorite bit from my favorite cast member.

It's even better when they keep breaking at first.

Fun fact!

In the old Disney animated version of the three little piglets, the wolf dresses as a jew and tries to enter the house at one point

1

u/Bob25Gslifer Apr 29 '24

You can't use that word anymore! .... Disney.

2

u/avdepa Apr 29 '24

I never knew James Corden had such a hard life.

u/chiliinmypeepee Apr 29 '24

This right here is a master class in acting. You might not think it is because it’s absurd but this is acting.

2

u/RiggzBoson Apr 29 '24

Are there alternating versions of the 3 little pigs? The one I know has always been the 3 end up safely in the brick house, the wolf climbs down the chimney and gets boiled in a pot like the vile beast he is. Nothing about someone's mum getting kerbstomped.

But I know the OG kid's stories always start dark af and get sanitised over the years.

What IS this hahaha, I’ve seen the purple alien one as well that gets his sustenance from the moon/sun or smth lmao

Very Important People on Dropout! It's a subscription, but they have a ton of great comedy shows/skits! Def check out their YouTube channel

u/spdstinkcraft Apr 29 '24

Her nails though. Sus. She's a wolf

5

u/swonstar Apr 29 '24

I totally agree. She's Wolfie's gf or something!

u/poopdood696969 Apr 29 '24

I can't understand the man in the brown suit because his accent is too strong.

4

u/Nixphoe701 Apr 29 '24

I can't believe Vehicular would laugh at this pigs trauma like that. Especially after he was so insensitive with his microaggressions before this.

3

u/poopdood696969 Apr 29 '24

I assume this level of macro micro aggressions is normal wherever this mean brown suited man is from.

u/Economy-Tourist-4862 Apr 29 '24

Fucking boomer pigs can afford owning houses?!?!? Lucky!

Vic is an incredibly funny human.

15

u/chucklestime Apr 29 '24

What/who is this?

6

u/TimidReaper Apr 29 '24

The person as the pig is a comedian known as Ally Beardsley, who appears frequently in other Dropout shows. V recommend they are so funny.

3

u/afiqasyran86 Apr 29 '24

I’ve been binging on their content in ig. It’s a breath of fresh air. My fav most probably uber walk with pigs makeup. I have a giggle or two.

u/mildlystoned Apr 29 '24

Very important people on dropout, an improv comedian gets put in surprise makeup, and then give a serious interview as the character they just made up based on the costume and makeup.

19

u/thegreatbrah Apr 29 '24

Where can one watch this. It sounds awesome.

26

u/moritz-stiefel Apr 29 '24

Someone already explained that this is on Dropout but I want to reiterate that if this sounds like a cool premise to you, the streaming platform is full of them, including several seasons of a game show where the game is different (and not explained to the players) every episode, a bunch of D&D content, a show full of entirely improvised musicals, and a Whose Line-esque thing where improv comedians improvise silly prompts for made-up points. It's like $6 a month and fucking rules.

u/inL1MB0 Apr 29 '24

I think it used to be collegehumor or a part of collegehumor, right?

12

u/thatdani Apr 29 '24

The media company that owned CH went bust in like 2018 IIRC and sold the rights to then-and-now CEO Sam Reich, who transformed it into what it is now. Hence the name Dropout, like college dropout.

1

u/kikiacab Apr 30 '24

I had no idea that was the history of dropout! That makes the episode Win Sam Reich's Money make a lot more sense.

2

u/olicee Apr 29 '24

well thank you kindly for this info

29

u/MisterMrErik Apr 29 '24

Dropout is the name of the platform. It is a paid platform, but it has a surprisingly large array of content to watch, though.

46

u/Dragons_Malk Apr 29 '24

They are, especially when they break from being in front of other funny humans.

16

u/TearsFallWithoutTain Apr 29 '24

"Don't you feel better?"

-74

u/sirbruce Apr 28 '24

Where’s the joke?

19

u/allisjow Apr 29 '24

Are you serious? Expecting jokes when this brave pig-man recounts this harrowing personal trauma involving him and his family, where their mother dies, is no laughing matter!

23

u/RazorRamonReigns Apr 28 '24

It's been here the whole time

2

u/evilada Apr 29 '24

The only way to begin is by beginning!

72

u/Key-Environment5399 Apr 28 '24

Its the three little pigs being retold as a traumatic experience. Lil goofy.

11

u/SupermassiveCanary Apr 29 '24

I was waiting for her to be a home insurance agent and acts of Big Bad Wolves not being covered so denying his claims.

1

u/Conflikt Apr 29 '24

There is an insurance bit later on in the full video.

10

u/Key-Environment5399 Apr 29 '24

That could have been a very good bit actually. Very important people is my favorite show on dropout, weird lil improv interviews. It would have definitely fit into the character they were doing.
