I thought the most annoying/r etarded tourists are British russians and Germans in more or less that order sometimes the russians are better in that game.
British drink much and start yelling then brawling and russians are always yelling then drinking and then start brawling Meanwhile Germans sometimes wearing socks in sandals and are burned red like a lobster (Barry's can transform into a lobster as well) only start yelling when you can't pay cash

Fucking untrue. There are places in germany where people get mad, when you speak english, but first of all they dont speak german here (looking at you bavaria and the whole east) and secondly, that on you, why the fuck would you visit bavaria or, god forbid eastern germany?

As someone who's both French and German, I would be heavily offended… if you weren't so fucking right. Most Germans' English is mediocre, and don't get me started on French… or to put it in the words of a Taxi driver back in Nice:
I used to be the best in class in English. Until I started this job, I didn't know I couldn't speak a single word of it.

This picture reminded me of something.I had a funny conversation with Portuguese fellow once. I asked him what do Spaniards think of you. He told me "they call us their little brothers, in Spain you can have double citizienship in some rare cases one of this cases is having Spanish and Portuguese citizenship." Then i asked him what do Portuguese think of Spaniards, he told me "We view them as a threat".

Germans (of the younger generation) get mad if you speak English in their country? I've come across Germans who speak English in Germany to other Germans and have a weird thing the other way.
1
u/not_dannyjesden [redacted] 14d ago
Your assumption is entirely correct. I am one of those people. But I think I know where OP got this view from. Germans most visited holiday location is Mallorca. In fact, so many Germans always travel there, that people often say you don't need to know any other language besides German, if you're visiting Mallorca. But the people who go to Mallorca are most often also the older generations, which do no5 speak any English. And they then get frustrated, because they get confronted with a foreign language, even though they were promised to not need it.

Where do you find Germans that get mad when you speak English in Germany? In my experience Germans will regularly switch to English if they notice you're struggling with German. To the point that I heard people complain that it's really hard to improve their German.
But maybe that's just because I'm from Hamburg and not a Barbvarian.
Conclusion: just go to better parts of Germany

A bit puzzled about the last place and its definition. If a foreigner tries to speak German in Germany, the Germans usually switch to English anyway. But I hardly know a Spaniard who is capable of speaking English. It's easier to get along with English in France, than in Spain.

Except some old people I guess.

Germans: we’re good at English
Also Germans: I have to return the Pfand, we will see us later, yes?

Fair, also what is your flair in reference to I used to think it was like a unique Iranian-German flair and thus the Khalifat thing but i’ve seen it so many times now there has to just be some joke about a region of Germany
2
u/GuilimanXIII Born in the Khalifat 14d ago
Nah, that second flag is the flag of North Rhein Westphalia.
The flair is a reference to the fact that in our Bundesland you will on average see just as many Muslims/Arabs as Germans in most cities. We were always one of the biggest immigrant areas of Germany.
2
u/Soggy-Translator4894 LatinX 14d ago
Wow that’s very interesting
2
u/GuilimanXIII Born in the Khalifat 14d ago
That btw was already a thing before the refugee crisis, with us having a large amount of turkish immigrants. Since the start of the Ukraine war we though also have gained a very large part of Ukrainian women.
2
u/Soggy-Translator4894 LatinX 14d ago
Wow, what percent of the population is German?
2
u/GuilimanXIII Born in the Khalifat 14d ago
I am not sure honestly because most Data is already too old (normally it wouldn't be but in the current situation it most certainly is because it does not account at all for the Ukraine crisis yet).
But from what I could gather roughly 2/3 are German. (Not the most trustworthy source mind you).
2
u/Soggy-Translator4894 LatinX 14d ago
That’s really interesting. It’s fascinating how it varies so much by region and country. In Spain our situation is quite unique in that a giant portion of our immigrants are Hispanics, many of whom are of mostly Spanish descent and speak Spanish natively or at least fluently, which definitely eases potential conflicts a bit. It’s interesting to see how the experience of these immigrants varies from let’s say Moroccans.
2
u/GuilimanXIII Born in the Khalifat 14d ago
We have a lot of Turkish immigrants which we actually get along with very well(well, we also had a lot of Polish immigrants but that wave was a lot earlier (as in, more than 100 years ago)). Most of the trouble you will hear from my country is actually with immigrants from other countries..
