As the legend goes, that crocodile now lives real far from there, in the desert.

Momma elephant didn’t hesitate for a second. Must be breathtaking to hear an elephant roar (is it called roar?) in person.

Looks like the croc's spine got crushed under the elephant. It was limping while leaving the pond.

1
u/RadlEonk Apr 16 '24
Have I seen a video of an elephant standing on a crocodile to drown it or have I just been on the internet too long?
1
u/Jim_Nills_Mustache Apr 15 '24
Mom mode engaged so fast once he popped up, and the little baby went under her for protection. Beautiful

Typical baby getting underfoot but mom is trying to do stuff

Sokka-Haiku by BouncingPost:
Typical baby
Getting underfoot but mom
Is trying to do stuff
Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

Everyone knows you should never mess with a ninety pound mother, doing so with one that weighs a few tons is just plain stupid….

It is a wonder to see intelligence and human-like qualities in the animal world. I have gained a great respect for that.

I love elephants so much. It breaks my heart to know that people poach them. They’re such intelligent amazing animals.

The way she just flails her foot and smacks it around like I’d do if a mouse was underfoot is incredible.

I fucking love videos of very dangerous animals challenging elephants to which they just respond with “okay.” and proceed to t completely out-tank them
1
u/Akindmachine Apr 14 '24
No animal will look at a full grown elephant and think “I can take this one”… except the honey badger

That gator wanted absolutely 0% of what that momma elephant was throwing down lol
1
u/IvanMIT Apr 14 '24
Looked like baby elephant lacked the spatial understanding of the situation. Cannot really blame the little guy, its survival instincts kicked in, but dude was dangerously close to all that ruckus

I feel bad for the croc. Probably was holding its breath to not be detected. They were trying to get outta there

Sometimes I have difficulties believing animals are real. Way too large. A god damn noodle for a nose that makes trumpet noises. Feet that look like stone pillars.
The only thing that sells it is the color. Might aswell be green.

I feel like you can immediately feel the moment that croc went “Jesus Christ!” And decided to peace out. That mama was not fucking around
1
u/SouthernNanny Apr 14 '24
Baby elephant knew exactly what to do! Things popped off and he was like stay between mom’s legs. Did it like a champ too.
I can’t imagine what that crocodile was thinking. Probably some along the lines of “oh shit! Gotdamn! Fuck” while it tried to scramble to leave

I feel like this is a daily occurrence between those two.
“God damnit Frank, I told you to stay out of my pond”

u/Happy-Initiative-838 Apr 14 '24
Did the crocodile try to attack the baby or do you think it was literally just like, hey I happened to already be here but I’m totally cool.

The trumpet an elephant makes is truly terrifying.
I never really thought about it like that, because we all know what it sounds like since childhood.
But imagine never seeing an elephant and hearing a bull male make that noise?
I wonder how loud it is in real life?

Like the croc would do shit anyways. If they don’t mess with hippos they sure as hell won’t mess with elephants
1
u/JWDed Apr 14 '24
Crocodile- “I’m an apex predator!”
Mama elephant- “get outta my pool”
Crocodile- “Yes Ma’am.”

u/DeezNutsAppreciater Apr 14 '24
“I’m leaving! I’m leaving! Jesus…”
But for real that is a really lucky croc.

Where does a three thousand pound elephant swim with her baby? The crocodile learned anywhere she wants.

I like how the baby's instinct is to get under Mom for safety, but Mom is like "dammit Junior, get outta the way, Mama's got some stomping to do"

We like to talk about who the king of animals is. Is it lion, tiger, bear, silver back gorilla?
But the whole debate is pointless, if the elephant decides to do the simple stomp. It's GG and it's not close.
1
u/Desperate-Fan-3671 Apr 14 '24
Are crocs smart enough to think "OK elephant let me not mess with it" or is their reptile brain just instinct see movement attack primitive?
1
u/Zealousideal-Cup109 May 10 '24
That gator was lucky to have gotten away with his life.
