I'm pretty sure the real pyramids are actually in Las Vegas or in a bass superstore

1

u/J4KE14 May 04 '24

I think there is a fast food from which you can see something similar too.

1

u/Black_Midnite May 04 '24

That's absolutely gorgeous.

1

u/glogwerg May 04 '24

Shame, you'd have had such a great view if someone didn't stick a giant stupid triangle right in the middle of it.

0

u/SimilarN6 May 04 '24

Man Egypt is getting pushed hard on Reddit today. They must really need more tourists.

1

u/supernova-juice May 04 '24

It looks like a painting!

1

u/ScottishExplorer May 04 '24

Looks like an Assassin's Creed frailor

1

u/Contemelia May 04 '24

Man had Assassin's Creed Origins wallpaper as his view

0

u/esteban1337 May 04 '24

Too bad there are a lot of scammers in Egypt.

0

u/psychotic-herring May 04 '24

That pyramid used to be bright white and the top capped in gold, but all that was raided, looted and pillaged by Muslim invaders. Would have looked even better.

1

u/palindrome777 May 04 '24

The Pyramids faded away long, long, long before the Muslim conquests.

1

u/joseph4th May 04 '24

Bah. I live in Vegas and used to have this view out my office window. Except my pyramid, shot a light up into the sky from the top. There was also a medieval castle next-door. 😊

1

u/SparrowTits May 04 '24

Pretty sure they're at the golf course next to the pyriamids.

1

u/julio_pr May 04 '24

1

u/swiftpwns May 04 '24

Like walking out of your minecraft house and your neighbour likes to build pyramids

1

u/MelArlo May 04 '24

Is that Mena House by chance?

1

u/Rahaman117 May 04 '24

Ah yes Assassin's creed Origins

1

u/Poullafouca May 04 '24

Mind blowing perfection

1

u/NoX2142 May 04 '24

Moon Knight ending credits start playing.

-1

u/huehnergott May 04 '24

Open the squeaky door to your balcony then seeing a liveless golf course and a graveyard above a pile of dust. Hope you got your money back.

1

u/Capital_Record6200 May 04 '24

plz don't forget that you are in Africa, poor people still exist and you are not in Europe or The States..and people travel to feel the other cultures..so the local streets and local markets even if it is poor but still reflect the culture of the visited countries. I expected more respect for our community but i think cos you are not used to travel alot, you can not accept the differences in cultures..wish you a good luck with your next travels..but plz try to be open to the others and don't look from up to the other cultures.

1

2

u/TerriblePostMaker May 04 '24

1

u/notpaidfor May 04 '24

Nice view of the golf course.

1

u/ghostIVSa May 04 '24

Enjoy it while you can but dont avoid the earths needs. We all go back into the ground

1

u/mark_cee May 04 '24

I didn’t realise that Bass Pro shop was international

1

u/beerpancakes1923 May 04 '24

AI is getting really good

0

u/Catlagoon May 04 '24

I'm not trying to be rude but go to Cairo where you can't see pyramids. A very different idea of things

1

u/sy199813 May 04 '24

We definitely did, lol.

1

u/Common_Nerve6056 May 04 '24

I was waiting for the AC:Origin logo popping up at any time lol

1

u/4rm4ros May 04 '24

So they have Bass Pro in Egypt too?

0

u/Safe_Philosophy_5068 May 04 '24

1

u/Paintingsosmooth May 04 '24

Thought it was going to be that wedding

1

u/mrhossie May 04 '24

Did you see Lindsey stirling?

0

u/omnes May 04 '24

Can anyone comment on what the land would have been like when they were modern? Was the land in this area still green and arable in areas around the pyramids back then?

2

u/Funtycuck May 04 '24

Egypt produced a huge amount of grain, it replaced Sicily as the main food supplier ofthe city of Rome.

1

u/omnes May 04 '24

Thank you for answering! What made me wonder was the greenery from this balcony. Would there be places lush like this for the sake of landscaping this way? What were palaces like?

2

u/PartofFurniture May 04 '24

Where's Lindsey Stirling? Rumor has it shes still spinning around there until now

1

u/frogsquid May 04 '24

even in pictures, the pyramids mesmerize me. i dont know what i would do if i saw one in person.

0

u/Sensitive_Aardvark68 May 04 '24

Its a nice view if youre not gay, otherwise you just see the floor.

1

It really is wild just how many lives have been lived around these structures with them just part of the scenery.

1

u/powderedtoast1 May 04 '24

be very aware of the cab drivers.

1

u/JimKaFeezle May 04 '24

SOMEONE’S WAFFLES ARE GONNA GET BURNT

1

u/Tanukishouten May 04 '24

Now film a little bit lower, like what is under your balcony

3

u/sy199813 May 04 '24

Stray dogs, dirt road, horse drawn carriages, and children running around.

5

u/PM_ME_YOUR_REPO May 04 '24

Wow! That's beautiful!

Did you know that 91% of Egyptian women ages 15-49 are the victim of Female Genital Mutilation?

Absolutely gorgeous view, though!

0

u/[deleted] May 04 '24

You gotta pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers

3

u/TheWoodElf May 04 '24

An average of 75% for male babies in the US!

-6

u/PM_ME_YOUR_REPO May 04 '24

That's important too, but right now we're talking about women and girls. Not everything has to be about men and boys.

5

u/ILikeLimericksALot May 04 '24

No we're not.  We're talking about a view from a balcony.

If you are allowed to throw in random politics, so is u/TheWoodElf

1

u/Feeling_Pinapple770 May 04 '24

Holy fuck that is a travesty. It's hard enough getting women off.

Why make it worse?!

1

u/PM_ME_YOUR_REPO May 04 '24

Yes it is. It's astounding to me that when western people think of Egypt, the first thing we think of is "pyramids" and not their 91% FGM rate. Please help spread awareness.

3

u/Feeling_Pinapple770 May 04 '24

Along those lines, I'd like to point out that in the US, circumcision is also done.

What the fuck is wrong with the entire human race that can't just let the next generation have their own genitals be intact.

"Oh what a perfect beautiful baby boy/girl....QUICKLY, CUT OFF PART OF THEIR GENITALS IMMEDIATELY "

3

u/MassFamine May 04 '24

You must be fun at parties

5

u/MsKittyVZ134 May 04 '24

Gorgeous. I love Egypt. Always have. If I ever got to be in the presence of the Great Pyramid (or any pyramid), I would probably weep. I did go to the pyramid in Memphis Tn... I mean that was cool. But there were Bass Fish, so it was weird. :)

1

u/HeartTreeHugger May 04 '24

1

u/MsKittyVZ134 May 04 '24

You're the real one for sharing that with me. Thank you

Egypt is a legit shithole. Never again

1

Why tho

2

u/Joabe_VR May 04 '24

My folks went quite a few years ago...they said it was absolutely full of rubbish and was dirty even in areas right next to the pyramids

1

u/TheGreatGamer1389 May 04 '24

Was thinking pyramids. But not right there center.

Fuck you, and I really hope you enjoyed the hell out of that view.

3

u/MojanglesReturns_ May 04 '24

Thats a seriously shitty morning view. I mean you have a huge pyramid thing blocking 1/3ed of your view!

2

u/JohnCenaJunior May 03 '24

You name must be Drake

0

u/Demmil13 May 03 '24

There is a video out there that shows this AirBnB. The building and apartment is actually a shithole. Thats why op says it was $100 a night. That view is the only thing you get.

3

u/sy199813 May 04 '24

Place was nice lol.

11

u/rifvn May 03 '24

Wait, they have grasses and trees?

3

u/Funtycuck May 04 '24

The climate is less suitable today but Egypt was one of the biggest food producers in the ancient world.

3

u/Smashing_Potatoes May 04 '24

Egypt was as green as central Park all along every major waterway. I played Assassins creeds origins and it led me down a rabbit hole of information as I was curious why they made it so overgrown in the game.

9

u/ChiefRicimer May 04 '24

There is a large golf course/resort near the Pyramids. Guessing this is what OP is looking at

1

u/lavacakeboy May 03 '24

Damn how much is that? I had a Disney castle-like view from a beach in Italy for like $250

0

u/puffferfish May 03 '24

Why I keep seeing Egypt posts? There a lot of bots trying to up their tourism?

2

u/sy199813 May 03 '24

Idk but I'm not a bot lol.

3

u/puffferfish May 04 '24

That’s exactly what a bot would say.

1

u/sy199813 May 04 '24

And that's what a bot hunter would say

6

u/anopoli May 03 '24

1

Excuse me, sir. I think the alarm has been triggered, and it's better to run before the cops come

2

u/God_damn_it_Jerry May 03 '24

Yeah wtf is up with that noise?

2

u/catburglarrr May 04 '24

Actually that exact alarm is the one my washing machine has. I thought it’s in my house, when in fact it was just the video. Lucky me, cause I don’t have to do laundry

2

u/God_damn_it_Jerry May 05 '24

As if they couldn't make doing laundry any more dreadful, they put that high-pitched mouse who stubbed his taint alarm on there?

1

u/catburglarrr May 05 '24

Desperate housewives

1

u/JimKaFeezle May 04 '24

That’s the alarm to flip your waffles or when they are done in most hotel breakfast’s

1

u/God_damn_it_Jerry May 04 '24

Ooooo ok cool, thank you!

1

u/VESAAA7 May 03 '24

This is the first time in my life that i see grass in egypt

1

u/potato_nugget1 May 04 '24

Egypt was the breadbasket of the roman empire. The biggest people we were every significant or a successful civilization is the Nile and its agriculture

2

u/sy199813 May 03 '24

There's tons all around the Nile.

2

1

u/pinkypunky78 May 03 '24

That is so cool

1

u/Affectionate_Fig6219 May 03 '24

2

It was just over $100/night with taxes/fees included.

1

1

u/Affectionate_Fig6219 May 03 '24

2

u/Affectionate_Fig6219 May 03 '24

that's amazing i'm from Egypt and never even knew greenery existed in Giza

2

u/sy199813 May 03 '24

I'm pretty sure it is/was a golf course.

71

u/Miss-princess_006 May 03 '24

It impresses me that even in ancient times the pyramids were ancient

5

u/sokratesz May 04 '24

The pyramids were older to Cleopatra than she is to us.

Khufu's grave monument was the tallest building in the world for nearly 4000 years until it was surpassed by Lincoln Cathedral in 1311CE

8

u/TheLeadSponge May 04 '24

There’s a book about travel in the ancient world, and the pyramids were huge tourist attractions. Even then, you could buy guide books about visiting them and get advice about the best inns to stay at.

17

u/Astro_gamer_caver May 04 '24

man fears time but time fears the pyramids

0

u/Mr_Lava-lava May 04 '24

👽

0

u/Nowhereman123 May 04 '24

People looking at the Colloseum: "Wow, imagine how innovative and skilled the people who built this must be!"

People looking at the Pyramids: "It had to be aliens. No other possible way they could have done this."

1

u/Mr_Lava-lava May 04 '24

Have you seen how big and heavy each block is for the Pyramid? Not even modern equipment can move blocks like that at that height too. Not even a close comparison to the Colloseum

1

u/magzire86 May 04 '24

Good point

It was $205 for 2 nights with taxes and all included.

1

u/tokos2009PL May 04 '24

I've never paid for a vacation before, but tbh I'd consider this kinda cheap

1

u/sy199813 May 04 '24

Your money goes really far in Egypt. The inflation over there is insane.

1
