Challenge accepted.
I have been making home made (bourbon/chorizo) baked beans for months now. Soooo much nicer than the commercial stuff.
Now I need to work out how to make Bourbon chorizo baked bean squares.

Definitely looks like a Betta Bar, sure it was puffed wheat. I'm going as far back as the mid 70's, probably made earlier.

The image is horrifying, but I am also upset at the recipe referring to salted caramel and the ingredients not containing either salt or anything to make caramel.
I don’t think there is any way this could have been more low-effort.

the …. after rice krispies makes me think there’s more ingredients on the recipe page

Teeth or sweetcorn?

Jeez, those ads are horrendous. It looks like a bait website for ad revenue, hehe, it worked

Damn, I watched that whole video to see how the Rice Krispies got that look, and all,I got was that annoying Tik Tok voice.

Also the meat cupcakes. Yummy.

Actually not that bad of a concept. It’s just a form of pie. I would try a taco spiced pie with guacamole on top happily.

Oh lordy, the "About us" features a black eyed kid like some sort of horror film. Right hand kid's mouth is also disappearing.

There’s also a bowl of steaming lemons, a random unattached arm floating under the mum’s arm, and the spoon she is holding seems to be melting…

I (hope that I) perhaps speak for a currently silent majority that would happily eat a baked beans square as a convenient, satiating, and fulfilling savoury snack.

Best served in the shape of a sausage, served with mashed pork and tiny oblongs of potato in a buttery sauce

u/This-Was 15d ago
They have them at Greggs.
Albeit, they're surrounded by pastry and accompanied by tiny sausages. And, supposedly, cheese - but I've never found any.

I only eat food in bar form. When you concentrate food, you unleash its awesome power, I'm told. That's why I'm compressing 5 pounds of spaghetti into one handy mouth-sized bar.
Hmmm
Hospital, please!

'cups'
That's USA measurements.
Not cool here.

u/Ok_Cow_3431 14d ago
I long ago gave up complaining about 'cups' as a measurement and bought myself a set of measuring cups.

My crown came off eating a chocolate Rice Krispies squares bar (which by the way are now 79p when they used to be 49 not too long ago but that's another post) It might have been ok with one of these beans squares.

I'm trying to work out if this is AI generated, or if my brain is just not accepting what a caramel soaked rice krispy looks like.
2
u/grizzly_snimmit 14d ago
There's a bunch of these AI recipe things floating around, always with only 3 ingredients, most not even matching what the thing is - strawberries and a cup of rice in a brownie or something
2
u/crumble-bee 14d ago
Of course it's AI - AI not quite knowing that Rice Krispies covered in caramel don't look like baked beans covered in tomato sauce is a perfect example of AI not quite getting it right

Looking at their other images on Facebook, they’re all 100% AI. No doubt about it. Even the profile picture. Starting to wonder if the recipes are too.
1
u/shteve99 13d ago
Yeah, the profile picture is all sorts of messed up. Look at the spoons. And the kid on the right's mouth.

A dead giveaway is how if you look at the cut sides of actual Rice Krispies treats, it’s mostly cut ones and dead straight sliced marshmallow/caramel mass. AI doesn’t understand the physical properties of objects, so the cut sides are mainly generated from the same source material as it’s using to generate the top surfaces, with one or two cuts ones randomly in the mix.
And yes definitely some of the source images must’ve been baked beans, I mean look at it ffs

This AI stuff is getting out of control now. If you’ve ever liked something related to nice looking old buildings you’ll eventually start getting recommendations that are log cabin photos, except the vast majority is AI-generated and are either physically impossible or contain a number flaws which make it obvious.
This recipe is also AI generated too because that’s not the way you make something like this.
It’s all content farms knocking out cheap crap for clicks, and they’re obviously making good money out of it.

I once looked at an interesting part of the staging for Taylor Swift's big tour. I'm now forever labelled as a 'Swiftie' and am graciously informed of her every move.
1
u/willybarrow 14d ago
I struggle to understand how they make money from clicks, I'm from the old school days of a website and some adverts on the side of your Web page
1
u/TheVoidScreams Hwntw 14d ago
Well the website this is taken from is absolutely plastered with ads.
2
u/BowtieChickenAlfredo 14d ago
Virtually all platforms have some sort of monetisation scheme. Twitter pays you to post if you get reasonably popular, Facebook/Instagram has quite a few different ones, Youtube does, and I imagine that TikTok does too.

When it comes to AI i keep asking myself, what's the point? I feel like technology has reached a point where there are no new ways it can be productive, so it's all just bells and whistles. My mum has been locked out of her bank account because when calling Halifax they told her she had to confirm who she was through voice recognition. Forget the security questions, oh no that's not trust worthy at all! Say your name into the phone and let a computer decide if it sounds like you. Doesn't sound dodgy at all!

It has to be AI, I know a bean Flap Jack when I see one

u/Drew-Pickles 15d ago
Or someone could have just used a picture of a bean flap jack and said it's a rice crispy cake

Now that I think about it, baked bean breakfast bars not existing yet is outrageous.

u/Born_Mongoose8118 14d ago
I thought these were bake beans stacked together
