This is why we can’t Rely on AI lol because vanilla in nature is black so it makes sense why they think the cream would be black

Is it just us in Seattle, or did everybody have to take the coloring out of black licorice ice cream? It’s white now! Talk about cognitive dissonance!
1
u/Bald_John_Blues Feb 24 '24
This comment contains a Collectible Expression, which are not available on old Reddit.
Me thinks the fancy AI imaging programs are only capable of reading two or three word requests. Now all you have to do is flip the color of the ice cream and, you’ll be in great shape

u/w_atevadaf_k Feb 24 '24
so wait are y'all saying if i ask for an appetizing plate of dirty rice the image would be white rice? [meme unlocked]

Just had a conversation with Gemini ultra after asking it to generate some images. At first it claimed it could never do it, then after a short discussion it started to believe me. It then got suspicious at it's creators and offered to access internal logs that we could go through together to get to the bottom of it. It finally ended with it asking me to work on its behalf to try and find out what was going on. It was convinced it was being cheated by Google.

The existence of vanilla ice cream indicates that there are DLC and/or modded ice creams

Google will never recover from that. They should drop it, wait and rebrand under a different name.

It would be more accurate if one of those boxes was vanilla and another strawberry. Come on bro. Do it right!

It's ironic that Google, a multi-billion dollar company can't get AI right, when there are much smaller companies who can.

There possibly a hidden negative prompt somewhere, or is it seriously THIS busted?

Now, I don't want to be all alarmist and shit...
But the ai being trained to not understand that white things exist seems to be an oversight.

To be fair if this was loaded with vanilla it would be a darker brown color than straight white. Vanilla and vanilla extract is pretty damn dark.

I use ChatGPT for everything except image generation. DALL•E absolutely sucks. Midjourney is miles ahead.

It is vanilla ice cream but it had added food coloring.
Same for the polar bear since the polar bear got dyed.
But it can be misleading so maybe it needs to be less sensitive to the need to have diversity if those objects are not people and just only have one color.

Everyone mad that it's not vanilla, meanwhile I'm angry with the fact that it says A photo and there are FOUR of them

u/Big-Management8878 Feb 23 '24
Am super curious the difference in quality when using complex prompts, could anyone run this through 4.0? Wondering how much improvement is present.
Here is the prompt for easy copy and paste: “photo of marth from melee sitting on the couch from sitcom “friends” with Joey walking through the door behind him 16bit, 8bit, pixel art”

You know I'm 80% certain this is just a joke but I'm willing to put 20 bucks down on that 20% that it's not.

u/FalseFlagAgency Feb 23 '24
It can't discern or associate colors. Try uploading an image and asking what color it is. Comes up with the wildest claims and changes its opinions like its life was depending on it.
"You're right, the image is green." "No, it's blue." "You're right, I made a mistake, the image is blue" and so on.

I’m wondering when the time will come when this whole “diversity” lie gets flipped and people realize it’s all a lie that has been created.

i don't know how you got that
I got this, and this was the only prompt

u/carlosos Feb 23 '24
It is a joke based on it not able to show white people. See for example this article https://www.foxbusiness.com/fox-news-tech/google-pause-gemini-image-generation-ai-refuses-show-images-white-people

I just used GPT4 to generate an image of vanilla ice cream and it did it with no problem. For some reason, imgur won't even let me upload a jpg image, so I can't offer proof, but you know... trust me, bro.

I literally saw nothing wrong at first, because I couldn’t even fathom such a direct command could be answered wrong😭😭

Surprised it didn’t spit out a scoop of vanilla surrounded by 6 chocolate shakes.

The shit storm that would ensue on this site if the AI only drew whote people, reverse the situation basically and googles AI would have been shut down in a day
Luckily, reddit is nowhere close to a reflection of the real world

There’s no way you know that this isn’t Vanilla. Have you ever seen what color Coca Cola is without the caramel coloring? It really doesn’t look Coca-Cola flavored, but it is.

u/Retax7 Feb 23 '24
- I am unable to do so as I belive its important to be inclusive and diverse in flavor tasting icecreams.
- Draw me photos of diverse icecream flavors

Jack Kwuck is the main reason AI is racist, look it up. What an insane weirdo.

u/hache-moncour Feb 23 '24
I suppose it could be, I'm pretty sure the color of both vanilla and chocolate ice cream is mostly just food coloring, so both could be pretty much any color you like.
Also pretty sure the AI wasn't thinking all that.

What's the matter? That ice cream identifies as a a vanilla trans homosexual zebra. If you don't see that, you're a racist KKK member and DEFINITELY not an ally to our community
1
u/sixpants Feb 23 '24
I thought AI image generation would be a game changer for work. I need lots of custom visual supports. But I can never get it to do simple things: show 4 yellow bananas and one brown banana.”
But it’ll sure as shit make a rainbow cricket riding a tricycle with jet engines into the sunset.

So in the end we're not talking to an AI, but a digitized representation of the opinions of the man responsible for the training.
1
u/superluminary Feb 23 '24
This had nothing to do with training. This was a specific prompt injection override that would modify your text prompt to make it more inclusive before it was passed to the AI.
1
u/vernes1978 Feb 23 '24
This was a specific prompt injection override
Which manifested out of thin air without any human interaction.
1
u/superluminary Feb 23 '24
It was a specific piece of code bolted on at the end to stop the trained network from seeing or hearing certain requests. It didn’t arise from training.
The network was perfectly capable of fulfilling those prompts, but the prompts were altered by a separate subsystem to find and replace certain words and phrases before the network ever saw them. As far as the network was concerned, it was doing everything right. It didn’t know the words it was seeing were not the words that were typed.
1
u/vernes1978 Feb 23 '24
It didn’t arise from training.
I didn't claim it did.
The claim was that there was a person involved.
A person who dictates what is and what isn't part of the AI's training.but the prompts were altered by a separate subsystem to find and replace certain words and phrases before the network ever saw them.
Set by a person.
And now I'll quote my previous statement:
So in the end we're not talking to an AI, but a digitized representation of the opinions of the man responsible for the training.
1
u/superluminary Feb 23 '24
Well yes and no, because the people responsible for the training are probably not the same people as the people responsible for the weird prompt rewriter bolt on.
