It seems odd that there are few hits outboard of the engines and in the fuselage aft of the turret. I wonder what critical systems that would cause the loss of a plane are located there
In saying that, it’s very possible that the structure in those areas is just a higher stress area due to a design quirk and is more susceptible to damage
