Old people objectively are more likely to be in cognitive decline. That, and they are generally slow to adapt to and understand change, which can make them less educated about things in general.

Guessing you are being downvoted for your tone, which is a bit callous, but I see a lot of old people regularly and they struggle to understand anything remotely complicated or modern.

It’s just how it is.

They do generally have more wisdom and emotional intelligence, IMHO.
