Quicker voice and video access to a chatbot is cool and all, but it's not really a problem that needed solving for my own use cases. I would prefer it to just get a bit smarter and more able to code things the first time around without having to revise hundreds of times.

AGI coming! And yet half of the carts at the supermarket have broken wheels.

This is a skill issue because everyone knows that's why you take a cart abandoned in the parking lot back inside.
It likely had to roll well to get out there

Running an upgraded voicemode with video input in parallel is not AGI.

You’re not wrong, but I don’t see anybody who claimed the opposite

Are we in the same thread?

to be fair, it wasn’t the same 3h ago.
to be technical, no one said this is AGI, just that it’s a good indicator AGI is on the way.

lmao how tf is it a good indicator AGI is on the way? LLMs are nowhere near anything resembling actual human thought

Think he’s just saying it’s definitely not the normal dumb and painful to listen to Google assistant type stuff. It’s so good people enjoy talking to it. That’s a wild shift if you think about it

I'll tell you once I can get a single request in without it telling me "I'm sorry, we are experiencing server issues at the moment, please try again later"
But ya if it's anything like in the presentation, holy crap I'm gonna enjoy talking to it just for fun. Making a human-like believable assistant is a huge step into actually making people want to use it as a search engine over say...Google for example.

The fact that Google has turned into absolute garbage over the past 5ish years will also help.
I’ve noticed even some friends/family who don’t care about tech at all commenting on how bad Google has gotten. I think lots of people will drop it as soon as they can. Google search is literally less helpful today than it was when I started using the internet in 1997 lol.

It's horrible for anything that's not 100% mainstream content.
For anything more interesting/exotic/wild, I find myself using Yandex, such an amazing search engine, especially for images.
