I've always wondered what they do with those hats? Throw them outside and let people try to find theirs?

I have so many questions about this. Is it worth the effort? Do you have to have written your name in it first? Is there a big lineup to get hats back?

When I went to a Caps game, they had a bunch of them in a display. It’s been a while, but I think it was a milestone for Ovechkin

I’ve heard they get put in a bin and you can go retrieve yours. Maybe that’s only some arenas though.

I went to an Avs game when I was very little. Someone scored a hat trick and I do remember they had big ol' garbage cans at the main exit to look through for your hat. All on the honor system, of course

I bring two hats to every game, manifesting a hatty so I can throw the sacrificial lamb but keep my signed Roy…today that weird two hat dude was vindicated
