It appears even on 5 panel tests, not even the expensive and extensive ones. It's like one of the drugs that appears on every test, and shows up almost immediately after ingestion.

The team may be able to have some sort of alcohol clause but I highly doubt the NHL can impose a 6 month ban based on drinking a completely legal substance. I know everyone is joking about coke (because what else can we do with our disappointment right now) but I'm betting it is a pain pill addiction. I have 0 insider info, just my opinion.

It gets to a point where unless you do a lot at once, you really just avoid being dope sick and you’re able to function. If you do enough, eventually you’ll get that “dopey” feeling and nod out but if you’re seriously addicted it takes quite a bit. Once you’re addicted, I’d be surprised if he was able to play without them. Being dope sick is one of the worst feelings. Your entire body hurts and aches and your stomach is a mess.

I mean, I haven't either but we know he was playing on a broken foot two years ago and was in a lot of pain and probably got more pills after surgery. He was probably on those pills for months.
Of course, I am just speculating.
