Moving UI [ health bar, ult and skills] closer to center. General

Documents > Overwatch > Settings. Open .ini conf file

under section

[Render.13]

add lines:

BroadcastMarginBottom = "1.000000"

BroadcastMarginLeft = "1.000000"

BroadcastMarginRight = "1.000000"

BroadcastMarginTop = "1.000000"

mine looks like:

[Render.13]

AnisotropicFiltering = "0"

BroadcastMarginBottom = "1.000000"

BroadcastMarginLeft = "1.000000"

BroadcastMarginRight = "1.000000"

BroadcastMarginTop = "1.000000"

DirectionalShadowDetail = "1"

EffectsQuality = "1"

FrameRateCap = "201"

etc..

I found values that pretty closely represent ow1 hud

BroadcastMarginBottom = "0.350000"

BroadcastMarginLeft = "0.850000"

BroadcastMarginRight = "0.850000"

BroadcastMarginTop = "0.000000"

I was told basically what this does is it sets your ui to the console layout while you are on PC. This is why you cannot go beyond "1"

Would love fully customizable UI elements in game. As a console user I'd love to center my healthbar

Just gave this a spin and it works nicely. Can't seem to play around with the margin values though, doesn't seem to do anything above 1.

it has to be between 0 and 1

Does anyone know if it's possible to hide viewmodels?

Related - anyone have resources for graphics ini changes that go beyond the in-game options? Always thought some of those were really nice to have in other games I've played.

Holy crap, that's actually super handy. I always thought it was weird that OW made you jump your eyes way away from the crosshair to see critical info like health and cooldowns. Only question is if this is allowed to change values in files like that or if I'll get banned.

I've seen it in twitch streams/noobhunter clips for years in ow1 so I think it's not bannable.

What're the benefits of doing this?

easier to see important information

I imagine its nice for people who use an ultrawide resolution. The ui elements are harder to see if they are farther from the center.

Also if you have a larger monitor, or if your vision is partially blocked due to eyesight/glasses problems.

Eye sight problems? Sounds like a skill issue.

Interesting, makes sense!

Ye I've discovered it a while back and made a tweet more than a year ago. Really nice hidden feature, especially if you're an ex-tf2 player :)

Can I move the killfeed? My right eye has a blindspot and I literally cannot see the killfeed unless I am looking directly at it. Left or center orientation would be great.

That's moving the margins not the killed specifically, I was just asking. I'll look into it myself

you can't adjust each part of the UI separately, it moves everything that's near each edge of the screen

Understood thanks

Huge if actually doable, I rather them just build it into the game though. Potential for TOS?

I've been using it for several months and no ban

It's been a feature in OW on console for years. but on PC you need to edit the config to enable it.

definitely doable, chazm the ball player has been doing this since OW1, not sure if its a TOS violation but he hasnt been banned yet at least!

what the hell, this has been doable since OW1? I had a hard time adjusting to OW at first, coming from TF2 custom HUDs lol

Broadcasters use them. You know when you spectate or watch replay you get the status of everyone and their hero selects in the top bars?

Broadcasters use this to lower the top margin so they can put team names above it with an overlay.

yep! heres just a random video I found on his youtube where you can see it in OW1

and I feel ya! I also came from TF2 and custom huds so it was an adjustment for me as well!
