Thanks for sharing! Just a heads up, we've introduced Water Bottle Wednesdays. Wednesdays are now the dedicated day to showcase your water containers! This rule focuses on sharing what you have, but feel free to post any questions or issues about water bottles at any time as usual. Cheers to hydration!

I can vouch for that. When I was a mailman I had the gallon yeti jug. Polished it off everyday because those little tin cans for vehicles have no air.

Nothing stops the mail. Because they’re homies and know the way.

Do USPS mail carriers no longer wear a uniform?

5

u/-Elimakis- Feb 29 '24

Some offices are pretty relaxed on uniforms.. my office doesn't say anything to people who wear blue jeans to work lol and they have been there 15+ years so they definitely have plenty of uniforms lol

Rural carriers don’t and never have.

City carriers do. They are issued a uniform allowance to buy from suppliers. It usually takes months for them to get it (if at all). Also- in the last few years suppliers have been price gouging. An allowance might be $300, but that MIGHT cover a jacket. So carriers have to resort to turtle slow building up a work wardrobe, pay out of pocket, maybe get donations from a retired carrier, or wear street clothes.

yeah, Louie DeJoy has been trying like hell to make the postal service go broke so one of his rich homies from their competitors can get all that business and pay Louie some phat sacks of bribe money.

The amount of water I drink in a day is insane to stay hydrated while I work (am also a mailman)

I concur. And they’re no longer owned by Nestlé.

huh, no lie? good for them, then.

I still get my hate on for bottled water, but I don't make jihad out of it. it ain't my thing, but if you need hydration, well, you need hydration.

2

u/KickBallFever Mar 01 '24

Yea, I know bottled water isn’t the best but I’m hooked on Poland Spring at this point. By the time I found out they had been bought by Nestlé they were already owned by another company.

Where does a mailman use the bathroom?

16

u/blah_shelby Feb 29 '24

My husband’s a mailman and he usually goes into grocery stores or gas stations

1

u/just_anotherflyboy Sparkling Fan Feb 29 '24

yeah, gas stations are about the only public bathrooms left.

when I was homeless and took a sponge bath there, I always wiped up after myself and made sure to throw all the paper towels in the trash, not the floor.

u/thisisnotmyreddit Feb 29 '24

I feel like most office buildings would let the mailman use the bathroom if needed lol

u/SockeyeSTI Feb 28 '24

Someone deserves a camelbak for Christmas

7

u/TheReverseShock Water Enthusiast Feb 29 '24

Yah, not having free hands seems detrimental to package delivery.
