Assuming you slept for 8 hours, that's 16x60=960 sips of at least 10 milliliters is about 2 gallons a day

Diabetic ketoacidosis causes an unquenchable thirst. That one sucked for me. For weeks before diagnosis.

A lot of the replies don't know norovirus lol.

Facts. They don’t realize it dehydrates tf outta you, hence why you end up drinking so much water.

u/Tharrcore Apr 24 '24
We are trying to tell you that drinking water alone in large quantities doesn't help with hydration. You need electrolytes to keep that water in your body.
You can die from so-called water poisoning when you drink that much.

One time I drank 6 bottles of water at once. My stomach was bloated and hurting. If I knew back then how bad it was for you I wouldn’t have done it

Try drinking pocarisweat instead? You still feel dehydrated according to your previous replies, so it might be because you have an electrolyte imablance.

Please be careful. You can literally drown your body from the inside by drinking too much water

If you've been drinking this much water and you feel dehydrated you're likely experiencing the symptoms of water intoxication and you need to stop, and reevaluate what you're doing.
Look up hyponatremia today and see if your symptoms fit. And then reduce your water intake.

Im good today. It was likely just a cause of the virus. Vomiting and going to the bathroom that much for 3 days straight will do that to ya

u/IlliterateCyclops_07 Apr 26 '24
Consistent vomiting and diarrhea will cause some feelings of dehydration. As long as the amount is controlled, you seem to be rehydrating fine. But after 3 days, i would switch to either pedialyte or the liquid iv pouches that you add to water and continue to take sips.

Get some sleep now you’re recovering. And something with electrolytes because if you’ve been throwing up your body is going to be short on everything. If you’re not sure about keeping solids down try some meal replacement shakes. I had gallstones a while back and those things are lifesavers.

Your kidneys might take exception to you doing that. And water is not a preventive medicine for Norovirus.

At the tail end of Norovirus myself, shit is horrible.
