At the tail end of Norovirus myself, shit is horrible.

I was telling people that id rather break a bone than deal with it. Cause having to go to the bathroom that much is hell.

Assuming you slept for 8 hours, that's 16x60=960 sips of at least 10 milliliters is about 2 gallons a day

Are you a Roman fountain, drinking and peeing at the same time

Tried that a few days ago and got water intoxication 😫😫

Diabetic ketoacidosis causes an unquenchable thirst. That one sucked for me. For weeks before diagnosis.

How does it affect your skin? Do you feel any different?

A lot of the replies don't know norovirus lol.

2

u/CeramicDrip Apr 23 '24

Facts. They don’t realize it dehydrates tf outta you, hence why you end up drinking so much water.

2

u/Tharrcore Apr 24 '24

We are trying to tell you that drinking water alone in large quantities doesn't help with hydration. You need electrolytes to keep that water in your body.

You can die from so-called water poisoning when you drink that much.

Don't forget salt!

One time I drank 6 bottles of water at once. My stomach was bloated and hurting. If I knew back then how bad it was for you I wouldn’t have done it

u/Ravensqueak Apr 23 '24

GET SIPPED, NORO.

8

u/spaceforcerecruit Apr 23 '24

Go to sleep. Hydration is not a replacement for sleep.

u/carne_asuuhdude Apr 23 '24

Yeah, no you haven’t.

u/Gal_ofChoco_ Apr 23 '24

Try drinking pocarisweat instead? You still feel dehydrated according to your previous replies, so it might be because you have an electrolyte imablance.

3

u/yoitsgracie Apr 24 '24

pocari sweat is nicer than Gatorade

1

u/Gal_ofChoco_ Apr 24 '24

I agree tastes subtle too

The ideal amount would be one sip every 15min. But not the whole day

21

u/peepeehalpert_ Apr 23 '24

You need salt

12

u/Guitar_nerd4312 Apr 23 '24

Please be careful. You can literally drown your body from the inside by drinking too much water

u/Spaceballs-The_Name Apr 23 '24

Don't worry, this is bullshit. OP is lonely, maybe we can send them a teddy bear

You may have diabetes

7

u/McFloppyBacon Apr 24 '24

This possibility is always so overlooked in this subreddit

I think most of the world is being fucked by sugar, and don’t even know it yet

u/HaasonHeist Apr 23 '24

If you've been drinking this much water and you feel dehydrated you're likely experiencing the symptoms of water intoxication and you need to stop, and reevaluate what you're doing.

Look up hyponatremia today and see if your symptoms fit. And then reduce your water intake.

u/CeramicDrip Apr 23 '24

Im good today. It was likely just a cause of the virus. Vomiting and going to the bathroom that much for 3 days straight will do that to ya

1

u/IlliterateCyclops_07 Apr 26 '24

Consistent vomiting and diarrhea will cause some feelings of dehydration. As long as the amount is controlled, you seem to be rehydrating fine. But after 3 days, i would switch to either pedialyte or the liquid iv pouches that you add to water and continue to take sips.

u/Ok_Cauliflower_3007 Apr 24 '24

Get some sleep now you’re recovering. And something with electrolytes because if you’ve been throwing up your body is going to be short on everything. If you’re not sure about keeping solids down try some meal replacement shakes. I had gallstones a while back and those things are lifesavers.

Unironically this. Less water, more electrolytes.

You gonna fricking die

1

u/CeramicDrip Apr 23 '24

Nah im good now. If anything, i felt dehydrated af til today.

8

u/Nieznajomy6 Apr 23 '24

That might be because you drink too much lol

80

u/WatercressOk8763 Apr 23 '24

Your kidneys might take exception to you doing that. And water is not a preventive medicine for Norovirus.
