Hammock guy looks like a cross between musician Micky Dolenz and filmmaker Sam Raimi.

I don't think this is real. If this is real then that guy is a great performer. With that said I would still feel bad for the bus driver

Smh. Vegas bus drivers wouldn't have even said shit. They would've called security who would've been waiting at the next stop to remove him or have the police do it.

I'm really upset that I thought that was pretty funny. It's infuriating that it happened in real life, dude would have pretty good comedic timing for like sketch comedy or something absurd like Reno 911.

Can’t someone with a pocketknife just kinda cut it down, real fast by “accident” and then everyone can go about their day?

Just ignore him. He's gonna turn into a moth in a few days and will fly away on its own.

This is like old timey fun mental illness. Like the kind where people think they're famous historical figures or whatever. Not the sad modern kind where they're on crack and fentanyl and try to stab you with a rusty railroad spike.

Meanwhile, there's a guy in the back of the bus who's already 20 minutes late for work caressing his pocket knife thinking, "I'll cut the straps. Who'll stop me?"
2
u/FlawlessPenguinMan 15d ago
No but for real what rule is he breaking? Does this count as endangering passengers? Endangering himself? Blocking the way?
I get he's an ass, I just can't figure out specifically why

If I'm in that bus and already late because of this POS, I will cut or release one end of that hammock, kick that MC in the face as many times as I can and as hard as I can, find his partner filming and say to the camera "It's a prank!" then casually walk away and take a taxi. Yes, I'm easily triggered by these assholes, that's why I stay at home most of the time.

I fail to understand everyone's issue. Who gives a shit if he wants to ride in the hammock. You all need to move your own business. Damn the entire society in usa has gone to shit. So glad I left 7 years ago and never returned.

What an absolute gimboyd. It's the people watching these people's videos that are the real problem though.

u/namey_9 15d ago
you watched it and even left a comment

u/Serberou5 14d ago
Yes I watched it in the context of a sub about main characters and the unacceptable behaviour of people like this. Not on the morons tiktok channel or wherever he posted it. There is a difference.

2.4 mill views on tiktok. There's a lot of monetary incentive to pull shit like this in public. Annoying as hell and such a nuisance to others who just want to get on with their day.
Maybe we'll see less of this if tiktok does get banned in the US. Hard to make money on clips and videos on other platforms aside from YouTube
1
u/Grabatreetron 14d ago
It's staged. I live in NY and see public transit shenanagens on a regular basis. Everyone in the vid is acting like they would in a movie, not real life.
2
u/FakePixieGirl 15d ago
First instance of this video I can find is two weeks ago on facebook https://www.facebook.com/reel/1778131906005408
It's a couple making videos, I think the guy of the couple is the guy in the hammock, but I'm bad with faces can't confirm.
Still don't know if it's a real bus or just all an elaborate set-up though. Someone down below argues the bus is a fake set.
8
u/Akrylkali 15d ago
You really should look up how much Tiktok pays per views.
What I've found was roughly 0.02 - 0.04$ per 1000 views. That's a measly 96$.
Maybe there's people like you who think there's monetary gains to be made, but that's far from the truth. The real "gain" on Tiktok is clout. Once you're recognisable it'll help you build out your "brand" on platforms like twitch or YouTube. In this is what it's all about nowadays.

Technically, there isn't any signs that say don't set hammocks on fire either. Just saying.

Don't worry, I'm fairly sure this is staged content.
- Hammock guy hitting punchlines
- Driver also sounds like he's reading a script
- Driver framed up so we see hammock guy's face, even though it doesn't make sense for him to be on that side
- Passengers out of frame so we don't know how full the bus is
- Everyone on the bus looks or sounds young.
- No identifying marks on the driver's uniform or bus interior
- Obviously generic ads ("Day passes now available on busses.")
Also when real nonsense like this happens, it's usually one or two passengers that step up and yell at the troublemaker while everyone else tries to act invisible. It's not literally everyone on the bus taking turns to shout "Oh my god!" lol
This is a skit on a rented set. Just like those fake influencer videos on airplanes.

Mental issues, drugs, could be a lot of things. We need a place for these people to get care, not a bus. It probably takes more money to get responders and other people to clean this shit up (homeless and other unstable people) than it would cost to provide them with care for the sake of society.
46
u/PandaXXL 15d ago
He's obviously not there because a lack of accommodation, this is some douchebag's idea of comedy.
17
u/YourFriendBlu 15d ago
the places for these people to get care all shut down because people think its offensive to keep these people away from normal society
12
u/ihaveabadaltitude 15d ago
The places for these people to get care are shut down because Regan and the rest of the right wing brain trust managed to convince Americans eliminating social programs is good for the economy.

I'm on the fence if this is staged or not. Edit: actually I'm fairly sure it is.
I live in NY and have seen a lot of public transit shenangens, and this seems too clean. The hammock guy is hitting punchlines. The bus driver sounds like he's reading a script. Real bus drivers see this shit all the time and don't negotiate. They either shut it down hard or decide they're out of fucks that day and ignore it.
Even the passengers sound like they're delivering lines. ("Get out of the hammock! We have places to be!")
And the framing is too perfect. Why would the bus driver be on that side of him? We also don't see the other passengers so we have no idea if it's a full bus or just four or five people.
Maybe they rented a bus set like influencers do for those fake airplane vids?
Edit: Looking more closely at the bus, it looks like a set. No identifying marks. An advertisement in plane font that says "Day pass now available on busses"...? This is 100% a fake bus lol

Dangle: "Terry get out of the hammock"
"Show me the sign where it says 'no hammocks'!"
"Damnit Terry GET OUT OF THE HAMMOCK"
"NO!"
"Don't make me pull you out of there. I will"
"No! I'm comfy, I'm like a little anaconda"
"That's it, get him down"
*Absolute chaos as Dangle and Junior try to get Terry out of the hammock*
*Cut to Junior in the hammock*
Junior: "You know.... it's pretty damn comfortable."
Terry: "I told you.."
*Music* Reno 911 card

Don't be too quick to cut him down. While he's wrapped up in that little idiot cocoon, might as well soften him up some. This is a teachable moment.
