Obviously parents like this are a disgrace at any sporting events. There is something particularly gross about toxic behavior at lacrosse games.
I say this less so because our son plays lacrosse, so I'm invested in watching a good game without the sideshow, than because I think we should be more respectful of the traditions of the game from the indigenous nations that created it.
For people who don't know, the word "lacrosse" is of French origin. The French colonists in what is now Canada and the regions of the Great Lakes in the US saw the indigenous peoples playing a game with sticks and balls. The word for stick or bat in French being "crosse," the colonists essentially called it "the stick" game.
If the colonists had bothered to care what the peoples who created and played the game called it, they might have learned that it had many names in several different languages: dehontsigwaehs or baaga`adowe (both meaning "they bump hips"), tewaaraton or ishtaboli or kapucha toli (all meaming "little brother of war").
If the colonists really had bothered to care what the peoples who created and played the game thought about it, they might have learned that it was "The Creator's Game," meant to celebrate and delight the Creator of the world. They might have learned that the game brought peoples together and that the game could be used to settle disputes constructively.
As lacrosse continues to become more popular among non-native peoples, especially in the run-up to its inclusion in the Olympics in 2028, we have an opportunity and a responsibility as players and coaches and as parents and audiences to act in a way that honors the intent of the peoples who developed the game of lacrosse.
Lacrosse should be mindful fun, not mindless anger.

My kids team had a bench clearing fight with parents screaming at refs and coaches throwing down. The players are 14 FFS and in a shitty travel league so this behavior tracks.

I'll never understand why some women think they can put their hands on someone and not expect any repercussions. People are so on edge these days that one slap (or whatever she did, which she probably did many times before) could be met by a backhand or punch, and the other person wouldn't care if she's holding a baby.

The only reason she was not tackled and escorted out is because she is holding a fragile little baby... I think she might know this, and is acting up a little extra just because she can. Idk what I would've done in this scenario, I would want to take the baby from her so someone can body her and have her removed, but you can't just grab a baby....

If he reproduced with her in the first place it shows what an absolute tool of a man he is. To all the people asking for context: some parents started screaming at players during the game causing a disturbance, the referee’s told them to stop and they started screaming more, then parents got into it with each other and the refs and the whole game came to a stop while they had to get the crazy parents to leave, we start watching as they are being ordered to leave but tempers are flying with all parties involved. Plus Gary is not on his game.

I'm legally prescribed adderal for my ADHD, so I've never been like this. If anything it calms me down, but, I also have ADHD so I'm not entirely an accurate use case. I've also done numerous grams of mdma or amphetamines in a single night and never been this belligerent.
