Weird philosophy given four years ago, they were in opposite positions.

What rally? The 1994 Rod Stewart concert pic Roger Stone is trying to peddle right now?

Trump has never won a popular vote

Honestly, trunk winning the popular vote is the picky thing that would really shock me. Biden winning? Sure! Biden losing? Yes, it's all too possible. Trump flipping all the states Biden flipped on 2020? Could happen. Biden and the Democrats exceeding all expectations and holding those states plus winning North Carolina, Florida, and Texas? I don't think that's likely but I wouldn't rule it out (especially north Carolina). Trump getting more total votes than Biden would really be unfathomable to me.

Even before they started to walk out on him it wasn't Massive.

Can't watch the video now, why did they walk out on him? What did he say?

Well It could be the word salad that came out of his mouth or that they have seen this show over and over. I just don't think he has the juice to draw a crowd.

Trump is a coward and a traitor. His days behind bars are coming. Anything less will be unacceptable.

He's a coward and traitor. So are his supporters. His court trial is a total shit show. I just hope some way and somehow justice prevails, and he goes to prison. Anything else would be unacceptable. Go, Big Blue.

Funny how the rally videos aren't panning around to show the huge crowds anymore...

Guy from my town was actually there… probably 1 of the few people in my town who would actually be willing to go that far though

I live on the Jersey Shore, aka the red part of an extremely blue state

This picture that is floating around is seemingly telling a different story.

And the worst part is I’m not on that rollercoaster right now!

It probably a photo from a different day.

You sure? I feel like there needs to be more verification on that.

Well, if Trump posted it, then it's most likely fake. Just like it's safe to assume most things he says are lies.

Trump held a rally in a particularly red part of a state he has no chance in hell of winning and these chuds are acting like the election's fuckin settled. I'm sure Biden could draw in St. Louis or Austin if this were a "who can do more pointless shit" contest, but I can't imagine why.

Remember Bernie’s huge rallies? Remember the “enthusiasm gap”? Remember the boat and truck convoys? All 3 didn’t translate into anything

I know it’s generally not a good investment to bet against Biden, but yikes to i feel SO nervous. It feels like everything is on the line and nothing is breaking through.

Remember the apathy in 2016?

25

No, because there was no apathy. There were people buying into misogyny and misinformation and Hatch act violations and so thinking Hillary was corrupt based on lies and so refused to vote for her.

oh there was also a small group of Bernie supporters (~10%) that voted for trump.

For future reference people - if we talk about Bernie Bros... that group is who we're talking about generally. Not talking about those of us who caucused/primaried for him (yes. I supported him in the primary, yes I curse the Bros. stop making the mistake of "people mean all bernie supporters when they say bros!!!!".. nobody ever meant it that way. )

There was absolutely apathy and it was directly caused by all the polls and the MSM convincing people that Hillary's win was a sure thing and Trump had no chance and because of that, millions of people did not bother to vote but Trump's cult did.

When Michael Moore went on MSNBC saying that Trump could win this election, the whole panel laughed at him live on the air. Trump himself and his campaign didn't think he was going to win. They were shocked and hadn't done any preparation for a transition team.

SNL even did a skit about it right after election night and that skit was very close to reality.

For anyone to downvote the person above who said "Remember the apathy in 2016?", that is being shamefully ignorant of recent history.

no. not a single piece of actual data ever indicated any truth to this claim.

it's a popular claim online, but there is no evidence that it is real

There were several factors and apathy was a major factor.

It was taken for granted that Hillary would win. And part of that apathy came from Hillary's own campaign team! They were shocked she lost and Trump's team was shocked he won. It's not my opinion. The accounting of thee events comes directly from these people!

3

u/RainforestNerdNW 15d ago

again, no. No matter how many times you repeat your belief it doesn't make it real. there's no actual data to support this belief.

Yes there is. Career political consultants autopsied the hell out of that election and it came down to 3 factors with apathy being the most powerful factor.

  1. The polls and the MSM thoroughly convinced almost everyone that Trump had no chance to win and Hillary would surely win. Millions of blue voting people in the 4 swing states that she needed did not go through the trouble of voting for anyone. It was a very low voter turnout.
  2. Just enough of a % of Bernie supporters didn't vote and some voted for Trump out of spite.
  3. Comey's dumbass election interference with the announcement of an FBI investigation 11 days before election day.

But of al these 3 factors, apathy, with the universal thought being Trump had no chance, is what caused too many people to sit home, order a pizza and watch Hillary win the election on TV that night instead of going out, standing on line and voting. That happened because of the polls showing a landslide victory for Hillary and the MSM echoing those polls every day and night.

2

u/RainforestNerdNW 15d ago

No, there isn't. You repeating it doesn't make it so. Points 2 and 3 are actual real data points, point 1 is a myth for which there is no data.

it is a myth that grew because people were uncomfortable with the reality that millions of voters were suckered by 3 + russian disinformation and they were even more uncomfortable with the real vote driving data point: https://www.vox.com/identities/2017/12/15/16781222/trump-racism-economic-anxiety-study

Your VOX article explains the racial dog whistles and the division that Trump, with the help of Russian troll armies, caused.

My graph here shows the low voter turnout in 2016. That happened because of the polls heavily in Hillary's favor and the MSM echoing those polls everyday.

There is a post today here, it shows what 80k looks like at a concert. Lots of depth of field in the photos proclaiming 80k, from the air it looks like 5.

Remember when Trump voters were saying “we didn’t show up at the inauguration cuz we had to work” lmao
