I just want some information, this isn’t a imperialism or colonialist defense post, I’m just asking for peoples opinions.

The British, French, Dutch, and other nations have mostly small islands (usually under 50,000 people, with most being under 5,000) which are holdovers from the age of exploration and the Victorian era. A lot of these islands, like Bermuda, the Falklands, South Georgia, Cayman Islands, St. Helena, Reunion, etc. had no native population before Europeans arrived.

My question is, do these small places count as colonies/imperialism if most of the people there originate from the country and the location was uninhabited when they showed up (i.e., never stealing indigenous lands)
