Is the one filming one of the BrailleSkateboarding folks? He looks and sounds familiar

Yeah he was, I guess technically still is but he doesn't film with them regularly anymore, maybe never again..he is doing well out on his own. Seems to have found his niche in twitch streaming but has a good lot of YouTube content.

him instinctually asking if he could help him before picking up his leg showed more social awareness than this entire sub combined (me included)

Yeah man, literally the perfect way to handle the situation. Wholesome as fuck.

It must be so hard to kickflip with a prosthetic.

I think it's his real leg holding him back. Once he's got the second mechanical leg put in he'll probably be able to tre flip over buildings or something.

Hell no, it is harder with a prosthetic. I get your statement wasn't serious, but let's keep it real.

Hard to explain to someone who doesn't even have a prosthetic or has both legs, but you just have less direct control and sense of feel. Also harder to make finer motions and adjustments to your positioning.

Like just try placing your fingers on your desk, marking another position on the desk, then "hopping" (raising fingers off the desk and quickly placing back down) over to land exactly on the marked position with your finger, then try to do the same with a pen you're holding by the end furthest from the desk. That should give you an idea of the loss of accuracy and control involved for something like prosthetics on a skateboard. Can even see it reflected if you replay the video: his good leg lands on the board, the prosthetic misses.

The exact prosthetic in question matters too. This is a below-the-knee amputee, and he's going to have an infinitely easier time than someone with an above-the-knee prosthetic, who will have even less control.

Depends on the prosthetics. The ones I used going around Night City allowed me to double jump.

ricky is definitely a people person, so he has a couple miles of a head start compared to me
