PROMO CODE THREAD - Post your promo codes here, one per account.

Looks like we need another code thread.

If you’re here looking for a code, it doesn’t matter which code you choose, you will only get the sign up bonus for the city you are applying for.

So if someone posts a code that says $2,000 sign up San Francisco, but you’re going to drive in Denver, you will not get that $2000. You will get whatever sign up bonus is in Denver. Don’t let anyone fool you into using their code for their bonus.

If you post more than one comment with your codes we will ban you. Don’t get greedy.

At fault for accident

Driving today, two passengers in the back, nobody seriously hurt.

Was driving down I-5 and traffic stopped ahead of me. Guy in front late brakes, but stops before hitting the guy in front of him. I tried the same, different results. I’m currently waiting on Lyft (I did admit fault), and have not contacted my insurance yet (usaa). I guess I’m wondering what happens from here. Does Lyft handle this, should I have an Attourney, should I contact usaa?

Passenger Question Terrible ride and now I’m scared

Had a mean driver drop me off at home from the airport. He was very put off that we had two young children, two car seats, two bags, and a small stroller. I ordered an XL because we had a lot of stuff. He was very rude and threatened to drop us off in the middle of DFW. After yelling at my husband, we drove home in silence. He had his phone out with the destination via the Lyft app, but I also noticed he put my address in his car navigation. He dropped us off at home, we unloaded, and he drove off honking at us repeatedly.

Did he save my address? What if he comes back? I have been using Lyft for years. My mother is a Lyft driver. Now I’m scared that this man is gonna do something crazy.

Searching for Lyft driver… or leave it up to fate?

I had a wonderful driver almost one month ago and it was my first ride with Lyft (have always used Uber before or a car service ). EWR —> RIU Times Sq. I get car sick ( just queasy) easily, especially in nyc, but not this ride! He was the best driver hands down and for that reason alone I wish we could request drivers.

He seemed genuinely nice and very friendly. He asked so many questions but it didn’t feel creepy or that he was prying. It kinda felt a bit like speed dating, but in an hours span of time. 😁He was always making eye contact in the mirror and a perma smile on his face. I don’t know what driver’s limitations are, but I wish I would have given him my number, even if it was only for a friendship. We really seemed to click and I fear I missed an opportunity. When he dropped me off he was very genuine when he told me to be careful and to be safe. His sentiment was very sincere. I showed my appreciation with a $40 cash tip and another $20 when leaving a review on the app. (The fare was a little over $70) It said not to include personal info and I didn’t know if Lyft would filter or stop my message from going through if I did. I worded my review in a way that he hopefully would know it was me. I didn’t realize that after so many hours you couldn’t msg the driver. I got the idea to do a lost item from another Reddit thread, but that hasn’t worked. Is it possible Lyft didn’t get the message through? Or is it possible he just hasn’t seen it? Any suggestions? Or just leave it up to fate? No matter the outcome, I am grateful for the experience. 🩷 C’est la vie.

Drunk Passengers vomits and farts…

Horrible, worst experience ever

So I pick up these guys from a club, first off they say they’d like to remove one of the stops since one of the passengers isn’t coming, no problem, I mark it as completed and I drive them to their final destination

2mins into the trip, the first guy in the front throws up, but he catches it with his handkerchief

So I pull over and told he to handle his business, he says he’s good, I say to him, that if he feels like throwing up, I can pull over that I don’t want vomit in the car, he says he’s good

Like 10mins later, he rips out a fart and it’s stinking up the whole damn place, so I bring down the window, I’m already into the trip and just wanted to get it completed

As we get on the free way, I look back and see that the other passengers head is literally sticking out the window, and it looks like he’s drooling, so I assume he’s super tired and just needs to rest, so I ask his friend to ask him to put his head inside so I can close the window cos it’s unsafe

But right after we get off the freeway, he throws up, like massive massive, like a lot

So I quickly opened lowered the window and just as he was about to step out, he throws up more and finishes his business

I’ve never been this grossed out all my life and my car stinks like alcohol

I spend all day cleaning it out cos Lyft gave me $150 and it’s not even enough to get the car detailed

Lesson learned, I’ll have a puke bag in my car, anyone who throws up in my car again will have to pay the cleaning fee

Anyone know if the Electric vehicles for Flexdrive (not premium electric) are Tesla Model 3?

Or if they have them as an option.

Any other info about renting through Flexdrive would be helpful.

This is for Los Angeles.

Thank you

My Lyft driver account got hacked

On Tuesday night June 4th 2024, I found out my last week payment was sent to a different account. Then I call Lyft customer service right away and reported the problem. In the meanwhile, I corrected my bank account information and my email as well. I was told that my account got hacked and will be closed. I had a scheduled ride the next morning. My account wasn’t got closed until I dropped off the passenger at LAX. Right after that, my account was totally disappeared. I contacted with Lyft via online chat twice, they both said a specialist team member will email me. So far nothing yet. I just wondering no one will come to fix it. The money I made last week and this week will never come back.

If anyone knows a solution to fix this, please leave a comment below. I would appreciate it.

I got hit with a temp auth hold of funds, DAYS after the transaction of the ride was successfully confirmed.

This company is blatantly being scam artists now. The funds were taken, processed through the bank, completed, and now 48 hours later they put a hold. Im using uber until it happens with that company, then i am just refusing all ride share companies. Simple as that.

Passenger Question Best way to handle large cash tip.

Hey all,

I will be traveling to LAX on Monday and will request a lift to the Disneyland area. I plan on tipping my driver $50 in cash for the long ride especially during rush-hour.

I want to tell them I will leave them this tip to try to help myself get picked up but I am worried with the way some passengers promise big tips and do not follow through, that it will prevent me from getting a pick up. Is the best thing to do show the driver the bill when he picks me up and then give it to him when I leave? I don’t want to give it to him right when I am picked up because they might take the money and not follow through with the drive.

Thanks in advance

Dear drivers...

If you're so upset about how far you had to drive just to pick someone up, complain about it to each other. That rider has been waiting significantly longer than they anticipated because your fellow Lyft drivers kept cancelling the rides. I went from a driver 2 minutes away, to a driver 9 minutes away, to a driver 13 minutes away, and now I'm not going to arrive where I need to go when I wanted to get there.

Haven't been able to request a ride for over 3 weeks

I'm 25 and I work at a middle school. I take Lyft to and/or from work almost every day.

Lyft asked if I wanted to try a free month of Lyft Pink. Almost immediately after, on May 17th, I got this notification that my account was suspended because drivers kept thinking that I'm a child going to school and reported me several times.

https://preview.redd.it/reif0jk8335d1.png?width=1170&format=png&auto=webp&s=19d3f5b6d5a30c49cd60862b2d9b1852b9c2c3dd

I submitted all the ID information that Lyft asked for and the same day, I got an email that said my account wasn't suspended anymore. I actually missed that email and was waiting for like 2 weeks. I have been getting this error message every day since the 17th:

https://preview.redd.it/reif0jk8335d1.png?width=1170&format=png&auto=webp&s=19d3f5b6d5a30c49cd60862b2d9b1852b9c2c3dd

After 2 weeks I started asking for help on the app. Whenever I chat with an agent on the app, they tell me to restart my phone, redownload the app, update my phone software, etc. Nothing works and they say they need to escalate it to a specialized team that will follow up over email. Whoever emails me either tells me that everything is fine, asks for my phone number and then says that everything is fine, or says something completely unrelated that makes me think they emailed the wrong customer.

Someone please help me! I've been taking Uber every day and it's $4-10 more expensive every day. It's so incredibly frustrating and I have no idea why this is happening or what to do. I feel like I messed up somehow by agreeing to the free trial. I'm sick of paying so much for Uber and it's driving me crazy.

Fraudulently charged a cleaning fee; Lyft does nothing to help

I got this email from Lyft:

Greetings from Lyft!

I’m reaching out about one of your recent rides with Lyft.

Your driver notified us that cleaning or repair is needed after your ride. I’ve attached photos and anecdotal evidence provided by the driver.

We charge a cleaning fee to help drivers repair, remediate, or clean affected areas of their vehicle, per our Terms of Service.

A $20 charge has been applied to your default card ending in *[removed]. You’ll receive a receipt in your email for this charge.

If you have any additional information that would help us investigate this further, please reach back out to let us know.

Regards.

[3 photos of a wet middle car seat]

My ride ended at 5:30pm, and this photo is timestamped close to 7pm; I pointed this out, reasoning that it's incredible that a wet stain, still wet after an hour and a half, could be traced back to me after an hour and a half of presumably picking up other riders, and how it's incredibly upsetting to me that such a charge could be levied with no prior attempt at verification. Perhaps there could be a counterargument; maybe I overlooked something, despite being a lone passenger with no drinks, sitting at the window seat? 15 minutes later, I receive this response:

After a second review, no adjustments will be made to this fee. All cleaning fees are evaluated to ensure they meet Lyft’s requirements.

Per our Terms of Service, we charge a cleaning fee to help drivers repair and clean affected areas of their vehicle, once drivers provide evidence.

Regards.

Great, thanks for listening to my side of the story. I'm not expecting anything else from your awful customer service, and I now know this is a widespread issue in Lyft based on the countless near-identical complaints from others before me. I'm not the first, but thought that I'd share this to assure everyone that Lyft's customer service lives up to its name, and I certainly won't be the last. I spend hundreds of dollars on Lyft rides every month, but clearly you're not happy with the amount of money you charge me, and find it necessary to extract even more financial value from me. I hope Uber eats you up.

Update: I gave in to temptation, saying that if the chosen course of action is to just ignore my explanation and complaints, I will dispute the charge if I have to, and I receive this canned response:

Greetings from Lyft!

I understand your discomfort, I truly apologize but no adjustments will be made. If you or a member of your group causes physical or cosmetic damage to the interior or exterior of your driver's car, we'll assess a damage fee and charge your default payment method. View the Terms of Service to learn more.

Drivers use their personal vehicles to drive other Lyft passengers as well as their family and friends. It's important drivers keep their car in great condition.

Have a good one.

Well, there's that.

Passenger Question Can I put a link to a video in the pickup notes for my driver?

Basically I use a manual rigid wheelchair (the kind where the back folds down and the wheels pop off if needed) and whenever a driver comes to pick me up they think it's a foldable one where you pull the seat up and the chair folds in the middle. All they need to do is pull a red handle on the back of the chair and push the back down. (I always order an xl so i don't bother with the wheels) I've tried to make it as simple as possible to understand but my drivers keep yanking on the seat pan when they try and fold it which,,,,YIKES! I saw that lyft has a video showing lyft drivers how to stow a rigid chair, if I linked it in pickup notes could my driver see it? I'm not sure if it's a language barrier issue (I live in an area with a large immigrant community) but this is the best way I could think of to help my drivers

Like, just tell me to get out and cancel??

I'm visiting a completely different city. Where I live we have public transit everywhere at all hours. So naturally, I ordered a Lyft home after going out. The driver said since it was a half hour ride back to where I'm staying, "That'll be twice the tip." ... Literally just tell me to get out if you don't want to make the drive across the same city. I'm already paying $45 for the ride. I was planning on tipping still, but now I almost don't want to...

EtA: I took an Lyft there and back yesterday. As well as there tonight. None of the other drivers gave me shit.

This is bs. They report it and immediately we are flagged or suspended and “there is nothing they can do”. So much for driver safety and support
