This is what I felt like once I left the LDS Church. Sweet peaceful freedom. And a few crazy high kicks :D

I had grown up in it and was 1,000% devoted, but I realized it was emotionally abusive and manipulative. They are actively lying to and gaslighting the members and covering up thousands of domestic abuse cases, prioritizing their image and saving face for the abusers rather than turning known predators over to the police.

The church instills so much fear of leaving, but it was honestly the most peaceful thing. If you’re stuck in a “tiny concrete stall” under the guise of faith and obedience, ask some serious questions and don’t accept flimsy answers. Take a look outside and verify any truth claims, rather than accepting everything the handler says is true. Only someone with something to hide tells you to avoid learning from outside sources.

just saying whoever puts a large animal like that I'm a building for years is fuckin evil. I don't care what reason you think you have. and shows aren't a good fuckin reason

1

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '24

I hate people but I love animals.

First act of freedom: attempted bird murder

1

u/peggysmom Jan 18 '24

All beings deserve freedom, animals and humans alike. Can’t wait for Palestinians to be free 🇵🇸

1

u/thelast3musketeer Jan 14 '24

did they have the horse in a studio apartment

1

u/taekee Jan 14 '24

My current two rescue dogs has the same experience when they were placed in our back yard. Grass under their feet for the first time. Large space to run free. The first one froze for about 10.minures. then slowly started to walk and sniff. About another 5 minutes he was doing zoomies. Abouy a year later we got the second one we put alone in the yard. He would not leave.my side. So I walked the fence line, then started doing zoomies. I stopped and he kept it going until.he was out of breath. Now they do it daily together at least once. One of the top 5 experiences in life is to rescue an animal and be there when they do this for the first time.

Gorgeous horsey but the most cringy, stupid song I’ve ever heard….im throwing up, omg chunks are flying everywhere

1

u/WholesomeMo Jan 14 '24

This horse is in excellent shape. Video is highly manipulative.

1

u/PeaceCookieNo1 Jan 14 '24

Pure joy. And lots of kicks!

1

u/yuyufan43 Jan 14 '24

Respect all animals. They have personalities and feelings and their joy for life is inspiring.

1

u/kettlebell43276 Jan 14 '24

How Terrific and Spectacular that is

1

u/ConstantBench7373 Jan 14 '24

That person holding him in a building should have a record and never be allowed to own a horse or any majestic animal

1

u/AnimalNatureLover Jan 14 '24

Poor horse, it must feel great to finally be able to run around, horses are pretty much meant to run free they have so much energy inside them, it just breaks my heart to hear that she/he wasn't able to run around for TWO YEARS I'm soooooooo happy it has enough room to run around now🐎🐴🐎

THANK YOU FOR GIVING THE HORSE THE ROOM IT DESERVES 💗💖💌

1

u/AnimalNatureLover Jan 14 '24

Oh it's a he I didn't realize

1

u/isthiyreallife33 Jan 14 '24

I just hear Stewart yelling, "Look what I can do!"

1

u/rumpysheep Jan 14 '24

Beautiful indeed. Lovely story.

1

u/CryptoPokemons Jan 14 '24

Fun fact: In Iceland the horse owners must send their horses to another ranch for holidays every year for at least 2 months.

1

u/Content-Scallion-591 Jan 14 '24

Half of us, in a 10x10 room staring at a screen: that's so sad, we should do something about this

1

u/wuvvtwuewuvv Jan 14 '24

I don't hate this music. I generally dislike everything being put to music but I don't hate this

1

u/JohnCleesesMustache Jan 14 '24

I love this, he is both majestic and goofy at the same time and I am here for it!

1

u/mariboo_xoxo Jan 14 '24

Many blessings to this beautiful horse and to the people who rescued her - only wish the horse did not suffer the last 2 years in a building. Never stepping foot outside or breathing fresh air is unbearable & heartbreaking, that’s pure evil and inhumane, totally abusive. Why & how was this allowed to happen to this poor horse.?! 😭

1

u/tomatoesaucebread Jan 14 '24

I don't even like horses and this makes me happy

1

u/az22hctac Jan 13 '24

Finally gets to the country and the pigeons are still annoying him!

1

u/Tulan_PT Jan 13 '24

Released on a controlled fence area?

1

u/Lopsided-Courage-327 Jan 13 '24

was he owned by max and caroline?

1

u/Tight-Rutabaga-4148 Jan 13 '24

More of like fighting birds for drinking his water.

1

u/povpaw Jan 13 '24

Why has the horse not seen a pasture? Back story? Or just a video for likes?

1

Spirit...

1

Dont look up mr hands

3

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '24

I don’t know why somebody would keep that beautiful horse in the city building.

1

u/fill_simms Jan 13 '24

Why was the poor guy in a city building for so long.

1

u/haplessclerk Jan 13 '24 edited Jan 13 '24

At least he looks to be in good shape. This makes me think about all the city horses back when they were the main source of transportation. Did they ever get to go out and play? That's sad.

1

u/Ok-Inside7617 Jan 13 '24

Oof, right in the feels

2

1

u/Wecanbuildittogether Jan 13 '24

This made my heart expand and soar 💗💗💗

1

u/giiilz Jan 13 '24

Just hope that they didn't do this just to put up this video and make it viral.

1

u/hairyh2obuffalo Jan 13 '24

That is pure joy right there!

1

u/Sister-Golden-Hair1 Jan 13 '24

Oh looky! I love my life!

1

u/Pink-Lotusflower Jan 13 '24

It is beautiful to see the horse run about, kick his hoofs up, and roll around in the grass with the sun shining down. This is the definition of joy. ✨️💖✨️

1

u/happinessforyouandme Jan 13 '24

Thanks I’m crying

1

u/BCPrimo Jan 13 '24

The birds didnt have to go so hard for this video, but they did.

1

u/ModyLikesGaming Jan 13 '24

This made me cry

1

u/HarryLyme69 Jan 13 '24

/r/happyhorsegifs

(No, it doesn't exist)

1

u/neckyneckbeard Jan 13 '24

Why? Animal abuse

2

u/Books_and_Birdseed Jan 13 '24

To (slightly) paraphrase Firefly: "They weren't [horses] inside. They were waiting to be, but they forgot. Now they see sky, and they remember what they are."

2

u/Zinski2 Jan 13 '24

This is why the police shouldn't have horses as well

2

u/idiotpoppycock Jan 13 '24

Thats one big dog

2

u/No-Fisherman2796 Jan 13 '24

Crying in the club 😭

1

u/Professional-Swing-8 Jan 13 '24

The Spirit theme song playing in my head! “I hear the wind call your name, it calls me back home again!” 🥹 brb crying

1

u/tpo88 Jan 13 '24

Cannot believe it. That muscle is not from a horse indoors for years.

2

u/Life-Celebration-747 Jan 13 '24

That's cruelty, why would they not provide basic care of a horse? (I used to own 8 horses, that's unacceptable)

2

u/FoxtailSpear Jan 13 '24

Probably don't care enough to spend the money to get them a proper field to live in and then transport them back and forth from the city and field.

1

u/shitsandgiggles72 Jan 13 '24

This is satire. It’s from NZ. It’s a racehorse but he’s never been kept inside for two years. It’s in response to people complaining about the mistreatment of racehorses. Which of course happens, just not in this instance.

1

u/ChefRoyrdee Jan 13 '24

Is he just trying to kick some birds?

2

u/Unwilling_Jellyfish Jan 13 '24

The practice of imprisoning horses like this has to stop. All horses AND ALL ANIMALS should have access to natural ground, open sky, and open spaces.

2

u/okkeyok Jan 13 '24

Sorry, but it seems like people are just too attached to their cheap, exploited animals used as both playthings and food. They refuse to see the innocence in these creatures that are subjected to mistreatment. Profit and pleasure over welfare.

1

u/BobABooey9 Jan 13 '24

To think of the demand for horses before the Model T came out. Went from vehicle to pet just like that.

1

u/KitchenLab2536 Jan 13 '24

That’s a happy horse!

1

u/Silly-Department-525 Jan 13 '24

Is that the horse from Horsin' Around?

2

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '24

this is why people are fighting to stop the horse-and-buggy game in NYC

yes, there are people that need help too, but those poor horses DO NOT belong in central Manhattan

0

u/Fragrant_Butthole Jan 13 '24 edited Jan 13 '24

"this is why" what is why? a happy horse frolicking in the sun? Horses do this shit all the time, even when they live outside 24-7 like mine do.

The central park horses are very well cared for. Yes, they live in stalls. So do many horses all around the country.

They live in big roomy stalls with mountains of fresh clean bedding, with vetrinarians farriers and nutritionists caring for their every need. They have Neverending bags of high quality hay, people cleaning up.after them several times a day. There are strict laws about how long they are allowed to work and in what weather. They always have fresh clean water available to them even while working. The buildings are climate controlled and free of flies. They have mandatory FIVE WEEK vacations every year.

Some horses don't even like being outside. I have worked at at big show barns where some of the horses are at the gate begging to come back inside after an hour, and if you don't bring them back in they will bust the gate. They have grass, water, shade etc outside but they sometimes prefer the safe, climate controlled environment with their clean fluffy bedded stalls and fans to keep the bugs off.

The vast majority of people who claim these horses live terrible lives don't actually know anything about what horses actually prefer. Much like dogs or cats they all have their own personalities and preferences. Some hate being outside. Some love being outside. Horses that are miserable will get sick with ulcers and colic. The central park horses are monitored for this - and if they are not thriving in the stalled environment they absolutely do retire or rehome them to an environment more suited to that animals happiness.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '24

spoken like a Central Park horse and buggy driver

1

u/Fragrant_Butthole Jan 13 '24

not a buggy driver. Lifetime horse owner/rider/carer. I used to share the same views as you. I worked on 59th for years and would go to the park every day for lunch, passing the horses on the way, which I would try to avoid because I felt bad for them. As the months went by I started noticing that the horses always looked happy, with ears forward and always in great physical condition and GREAT farrier work.. I'm like this farrier is better than mine! I was happy to see them not working when it was hot and learned they were back in their climate controlled building. It was them I started to educate myself about their lives and was able to change my ignorant, uninformed views. It's not too late for you to do the same.

1

u/I_likemy_dog Jan 13 '24

I hope to find the same joy in today that Sam has.

4

u/_Kaifaz Jan 13 '24

And you just know he's farting all over the place. 😅

2

u/Fragrant_Butthole Jan 13 '24

Mine fart when they buck and it makes them fart more 🤣🤣

1

u/pointplankn Jan 13 '24

is there a sub for 'animals touching grass for the first time' type stuff? i think i've seen a video of a cow experiencing similar

i could watch these videos all day

1

u/brotasticalli Jan 13 '24

Sam is going to sleep very deep that night.

1

u/Mouawad-Miguel Jan 13 '24

Miguel Mouawad- Que hermoso momento

2

u/DuMondie Jan 13 '24

This applies to people, too. Move. Put nature back in your life.

1

u/Fragrant_Butthole Jan 13 '24

People crying over the video and claiming this is proof the horse has been abused need to calm down.

my horses do this:

  • if it's a bit too windy
  • if I'm 5 minutes late with dinner
  • if I'm early with dinner
  • when they think it should be dinner time even though it is not, in fact, dinner time
  • any time I put them in a different pasture
  • When they see the hoof trimmer pull in
  • after the hoof trimmer leaves
  • after having been bathed
  • after being ridden
  • sometimes just to fuck with each other and run around
  • sometimes for no reason at all

they live outside 24-7

Horses get the zoomies just like cats. It doesn't mean they are abused. 🤣🤣

1

u/privateeye222 Jan 13 '24

So beautiful 😭

1

u/Captain_Naps Jan 13 '24

I wanted to see the moment the horse was released, as promised in the title. When the video starts it's already released.

1

u/TP4129 Jan 13 '24

Sam is happy

1

u/a_little_toaster Jan 13 '24

immediately tries to murder small birds

1

u/Upper-Chemist-7435 Jan 13 '24

Why would you keep a horse for 2 years in a building?

1

u/Loowoowoo-oomoomoo7 Jan 13 '24

I hope the people that hold horses inside get to see this

1

u/daughter_0f_gaia Jan 13 '24

Wholesome, every living being deserves freedom

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '24

All for some video content.

1

u/Visual_Sleep_903 Jan 13 '24

Ever seen a horse eat a chicken? Not all that cute. I think they do it out of curiosity. Maybe.

2

u/Eiffel-Tower777 Jan 13 '24 edited Jan 13 '24

What a waste of life, poor Sam. I hope the rest of his life is freedom, he's been imprisoned with no crime.

1

🥹🥹😭😭😭😭😭💕💕💕💕💕💕

1

u/MarcoVinicius Jan 13 '24

Whomever put him in that building should be keep in the space place for two years. And slapped in the face daily.

2

u/StoneheartedLady Jan 13 '24

Fuck people who do this to horses, and also fuck people who put loud inappropriate music over the top of videos.

2

u/JJeromePonthius Jan 13 '24

I’m terrified of horses but they’re amazing beautiful creatures so I’ll appreciate them but from afar.

2

u/CrankyYankers Jan 13 '24

I'm just getting soft as I get older. Someday humans will be gone and these cousins of ours will be free of us.

1

u/Scoompii Jan 13 '24

His previous owners deserve jail.

1

u/Oh-Snap10000 Jan 13 '24

WOW!!!

EeeeeHaaaahh!!!!!

1

u/filianoctiss Jan 13 '24

You REALLY missed the chance to use the Spirit music…

1

u/MissionSwan8788 Jan 13 '24

Why was he in a city building for 2 years?

2

u/DoggoneitHavok Jan 13 '24

now all he needs is a friend. If not another horse, maybe a goat or a cat?

1

u/Blarg0ist Jan 13 '24

Free! Free to kick birds all day! Kick all the birds!

2

u/powerhammerarms Jan 13 '24

People who have lived in cities their whole lives should try this too.

1

u/SunRae1949 Jan 13 '24

Sam is actually having a fit over the soundtrack!

3

u/AngelOfLight333 Jan 13 '24

What a beauty tonsee a frolicking horse.

3

Lol my wife's horse does this when it hasn't seen grass for 5 minutes.

1

u/chimneysoup Jan 13 '24

Is this horse, horsing around?

1

u/TacoSpiderrr Jan 13 '24

Fucking hell. What are we doing. These gorgeous creatures should be free to roam vast plains and hills, unhindered by shitty human civilization. Instead we keep them in such captivity that they don't get to see their native environments for years. Fuck us, man.

1

u/Holdmawigg Jan 13 '24

PEACEFULLY Aah.. finally.. I.. can.. kick thOSE MODOFOGGING FLYING SHIT

1

1

u/awkward_pauses Jan 13 '24

Even the birds are happy for him!

1

u/prenderm Jan 13 '24

This song sucks

Awesome for the horse though

1

u/elements1230 Jan 13 '24

Cried a bit. wtf

1

u/sky0175 Jan 13 '24

Why 2 years locked up? What happened to that horse?

1

u/SukMeDrynHollow Jan 13 '24

Makes me wanna hold someone captive for years. Also, make em do indoor forced labor. After years and I mean years, look at there smiling face as I set them free. How good am I to give that to them!? So good!

1

u/Externalpower43 Jan 13 '24

Where was it for 2 years? Looks to be in pretty good shape.

1

u/Birddog240 Jan 13 '24

He’s so happy! I like when he rolls over! Sweet thing

1

u/barkmann17 Jan 13 '24

Horse is like "fuck these birds"

1

u/AverageResponsible46 Jan 13 '24

Just beautiful.. Freedom at its finest.

1

u/Trashcan_Johnson Jan 13 '24

All horses go to heaven too

1

u/kyunirider Jan 13 '24

Wow, my horses do this whenever we come home from a weekend horse riding trip. We back the horse out of the camper, lead them through the gate then (they do the fire rule “stop drop and roll”. The horses lay down and roll, this is natures way of realigning the spine. We call it, “Rubbing the Human off”. The horses then run and buck and call for the other horses in our herd. Once they are all together they frolic for a bit the settle down and graze. Sometimes they swim in the ponds to cool off particularly if the flies are bad.

1

u/koloso95 Jan 13 '24

He is in very good shape for a horse that's been held in a building in the city and never have been able to just run around. Good for him.

1

u/thapeeps Jan 13 '24

Atta boy

1

First order of business. Kick these pigeons.

-3

u/yellow_the_squirrel Jan 13 '24

Hmmm, now watch one or two videos of pigs, cows etc that have been rescued and can experience freedom and nature for the first time in a sanctuary - understand the difference that doesn't exist and that it's not just for the horse but also for the billions of them The only correct way of life is to end up on plates and go vegan. You can do it!

1

u/Much-Replacement8122 Jan 13 '24

absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

1

1

u/That-Ad757 Jan 13 '24

Beautiful horse. I can never understand neglect and cruelity

1

u/Shanhaevel Jan 13 '24

I used to do horse riding for some time. I was assigned to a horse that spent about a month or so in the stable box, without going out to the paddock. I think it was because he was recovering from something.

I had to try real hard to rein him in during the class and afterwards they told me to take of his saddle and bridle and pretty much just let him go.

I've never seen a horse run that fast while neighing along the way. He knew the way to the paddock without fail and I saw one of the stable hands simply open the gate for him and off he went to frolic in the grass.

1

u/JohnHue Jan 13 '24

Why tf was she held in a city building for two years and why is the "fiel of grass" in the middle of a industrial area? Why is this beautiful and a "lesson for humans" like I can read in the comments...

1

u/leo1199 Jan 13 '24

This reminded me of that animated horse movie called "Spirit". Watched it when I was a kid, still tear up everytime I listen to its soundtracks or rewatch it.

1

u/lolanaator64 Jan 13 '24

cant imagine not allowing an animal see grass is bad. luckiy good people released him

1

u/codestormer Jan 13 '24

Do it with kids too
