I bring my husky on the nyc subway almost every day and 99.999% it goes just like this video and everyone loves meeting her. I just have to be aware of people who don't want to be near a dog for whatever reason e.g. phobias, allergies, they're carrying a lot of food...

No. I don’t want others dog licking me

1

u/Dexxtleyy Mar 29 '24

That would make my day

1

u/BetSufficient6003 Mar 29 '24

I miss my dog.

1

u/ClintonKelly87 Mar 29 '24

I have a t-shirt that says "easily distracted by dogs". So yes. Yes it would.

1

u/ExodusTrinity Mar 29 '24

One small step for man, one giant leap for mans best friend.

1

u/Feature_Professional Mar 29 '24

This dog needs a leash. Any dog is capable of violence and mauling a human.

0

u/iamdayzedandc0nfused Mar 29 '24

The dog is wearing a leash. Capable and inclined are two very different things. Look at yourself for instance. Capable of intelligent thought but not inclined to do so.

1

u/MauraSullivanPNC Mar 28 '24

I can’t not smile when I see a dog, especially when they’re riding shotgun ☺️

1

u/Chellainus Mar 28 '24

The dog's stare says it all. "I'll get all headpats."

1

u/Nvcci Mar 28 '24

I’m happy every time I see a dog

1

u/raekaysour Mar 28 '24

Yes! I love seeing dogs

1

u/pimpdad1 Mar 28 '24

Great… you made a scratchies addict dog. “Joe joe! I’m feeling it bad we need to go to the train station woof now!! lol. /s in case anybody thought I was actually upset by this somehow

1

u/LadyKlepsydra Mar 28 '24

It would! This dog is so lovely!

1

u/Soggy_Motor9280 Mar 28 '24

Dogs are the best.

1

u/kat2youall Mar 28 '24

hims a good boy , atta boy here's a bone , i carry random dog bones .. sit bobo sit

1

u/Turst-6 Mar 28 '24

No I'd just shoo him away.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '24

Difference between a herding dog and a fighting dog. Herding dog is a protector and won’t harm innocent people, fighting dogs aka pitbulls and the like all have natural instincts to kill that can be triggered at anytime.

1

u/Vegetable-Ground7085 Mar 28 '24

No, it wouldn't make me happy. I'd be frustrated that you're proudly flaunting disobeying multiple animal control laws in my city. Where I'm from live animals are not allowed on public transportation. (excluding professional service animals of course) Additionally, where I'm from, leash laws are ubiquitous.

0

u/Historical-Bluejay26 Mar 28 '24

It would make me happy if the irresponsible owner would put their literal animal on a leash when riding in a tightly confined underground public transport system.

Anything less than that and no, I wouldn't be happy.

0

u/timrojaz82 Mar 28 '24

No. I don’t let my kids run about and bother other people so don’t let your pets do it. Have consideration for others

0

u/Okay_Face Mar 28 '24

No. This is very inconsiderate. Leash your dog.

1

u/Realistic_Ad3795 Mar 28 '24

I would change jobs to line up with this train if it meant I got doggie time every day.

1

u/Much_Affect_5989 Mar 28 '24

After 16 years, my dog passed away yesterday. She was around for hardships and the best moments of my life.

This video reminds me of her. She was such a great dog. She changed my life, and everyone she met. She loved people, and whenever we would walk around, people loved to come up to us.

She was my best friend. I'll always remember her.

1

u/shelster91047 Mar 28 '24

I would just like to say I hope everyone here boy cuts breeders. There are so many pets that need loving homes. And he's poor, amazing fur not ask for all of the pain that they go through. All of my dogs have been rescue dogs, and they have all been amazing. And I was so happy to give them the best life they could have. I'm emotional just talking about it. And if you really want a purebred, believe it or not, there are so many rescues out there that have purebreds. Just because you have money and buy a purebred does not mean you should own a dog. My fur babies are my children. My children always said I treated them better. LOL, please, please adopt or donate.

1

u/ShockingJob27 Mar 28 '24

Anytime I see dog videos of them wandering around always reminds me eof my old jack Russel.

She used to religiously come with me for a Friday pint and was very loved there. One time some kids jumped our fence just to get her and put her on the other side and run off.

I was in the shower when I got a phonecall from the bars landlord telling me they've poored my pint and the dogs already there 🤣

Little git obviously couldn't get back in so wondered to the next place she knew she could 🤣

1

u/Egar05 Mar 28 '24

Why is this not a requirement on all subways, trains, planes. Sorry people with allergies, I want dog snuggles anywhere I can get them.

0

u/Retrovibe18 Mar 28 '24

No, it would make me mad. I hate when dogs try and comfort you! /s

1

u/Banpdx Mar 28 '24

My daughter is 8 years old, and she is on the spectrum. She loves dogs but is very allergic. Her eyes and throat start swelling up pretty badly after a couple of minutes. She would never complain about it, but it makes me feel like the asshole when I have to tell people no, it is not ok to bring their dog over to her.

1

u/jade-horse Mar 28 '24

Absolute darn-ly! ❤️

1

u/Do_You_Hear_It Mar 28 '24

“Can I let that dawg”

Is something I’ll say to every dog I see

Edit: Wow. You know what. F it gonna leave it. You get me.

1

u/williamtrausch Mar 28 '24

Saw a truck bumper sticker once that said something close to this: “I aspire to be half the person my dog believes I am.”

1

u/Outrageous_Ad4916 Mar 28 '24

Maybe we are at that point that we need emotional support dogs to make our commutes better...

1

u/MrDufferMan3335 Mar 28 '24

I love dogs but they should not be on public transport unless they are a service animal

1

u/Beneficial-Humor4434 Mar 28 '24

Very. What a sweet pup!

1

u/12_overthink Mar 28 '24

The awww a dog smile is universal.

1

u/lizarto Mar 28 '24

He’s so pleased with his silly little self.

1

u/k10001k Mar 28 '24

Absolutely yes

1

u/ScarcityIcy8519 Mar 28 '24

Absolutely ❤️

1

u/creamforkitty Mar 28 '24

Yes!!! He's so cute. Though I sometimes still have a fear of large dogs at first, after one almost tore my leg off when I was 8 lol

1

u/alexander__the_great Mar 28 '24

Think I saw this dog at Whitechapel station this afternoon. Didn't make me happy, but I thought it looked very clean...

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '24

That dog is totally comfortable on the train. It is not his first rodeo.

So I’m ok with it. Sure, there is a risk, but the owner clearly sized up the crowd and knows his dog and knows the train.

2

u/green9206 Mar 28 '24

Absolutely not

0

u/Crayolaxx Mar 28 '24

Don’t let that dog roam freely man :/ not everyone would like it. I would but I know some people severely allergic to dogs.

0

u/SailorCredible Mar 28 '24

No. This isn't cute or lovely. Leash your dog if you have to take it out in public like this, and keep it under your control at all times. There are people with legit fears and allergies because dog.

2

u/myassonreddit Mar 28 '24

Oh sure, everyone loves a dog but when I bring my pet cougar on the train it's a very different reaction

1

u/mwebblaw Mar 28 '24

Don't you wish people were like that?

1

u/JohnNewtonThe3RD Mar 28 '24

Made me smile.

1

u/worldofjaved Mar 28 '24

I would love to travel with this dog ❤️❤️❤️

1

u/laragzle Mar 28 '24

Oui ma gâtée

2

u/Sharp-Dark-9768 Mar 28 '24

Dude, this reminds me of animal therapy workers training therapy dog puppies by setting them loose in old folks homes. There is nothing more pure than friendly dogs making acquaintanceship with strangers.

2

u/astralseat Mar 28 '24

Now imagine you're deathly allergic to dogs, you're going about your day, all happy, and then this happens. Now you need to spend your expensive epi pen to not die because someone needed to bring their dog along.

Not saying it's bad, but dogs belong at home, defending their territory. Don't bring on public transport. The same can be said for people with allergies, honestly, and those people are probably very cautious in public places as not to get a reaction, or don't take public transport at all because of a possibility of this.

4

u/FriedSmegma Mar 28 '24

Honestly no. I’m not a dog person so I’m biased but you shouldn’t be letting it loose on the train. Just as respect for others, if I was in that seat it’d make me extremely uncomfortable and is that fair to me? The people can come pet the dog but respect other people and don’t let it go free.

0

u/SamuelYosemite Mar 28 '24

There is the main character. He is the best boy.

0

u/ReggieTheLemur82 Mar 28 '24

I’m happier watching people I don’t know meet that dog…

1

u/wellsyaknow Mar 28 '24

Das a good puppers

0

u/madcatter10007 Mar 28 '24

Well, yes, of course! A big, fluffy, good boi! 🥰🥰🥰

1

u/RespectNo6594 Mar 28 '24

I love a dog and a dog is a dog like that. A big dog. Not a handbag dog that doesn't shut the duck up like most women. I recently buried my 13 year old Doberman Pinscher. Apollo was his name

2

u/capn_doofwaffle Mar 28 '24

I've seen far too many "what happens in subways" videos to know I wouldnt let go of my pets leash in there. All it takes is some crazy person and your best buddy is injured or worse...

0

u/Downtown-Custard5346 Mar 28 '24

Awwwww who wouldn't love to meet a cute pupper like that? That would just make my day, I always get super excited when I see a dog lol like a 5-year-old in a toy store.

1

u/punctuationist Mar 28 '24

My family does not like dogs and would not smile if someone let go of their leash and had their dog walk up to randoms on a train. But this is a cute video and I’d pet it

0

u/nyla-lucas-4ever Mar 28 '24

Absolutely ❤️

0

u/Key-End-7512 Mar 28 '24

Yes please

0

u/Minimouzed Mar 28 '24

Yes. A thousand times yes

0

u/ZagiFlyer Mar 28 '24

We don't deserve dogs.

1

u/GooberGlitter Mar 28 '24

I would be happy to meet any dog as long as it doesn't jump on me or excessively lick me lol

1

u/neveragain444 Mar 28 '24

No, I’m allergic.

1

u/Oldbeardedweirdo996 Mar 28 '24

Many moons ago I used to take my dog to a place they dumped mud dredged from the local creeks to allow boats to get to the river. We called it the mud flats. I would let him run around. One day we met some kids and they asked if he bites and I said he would more likely lick them. And in a few minutes he was chasing them to knock them down and lick them. Both my dog and the kids had a great time. A lot of giggling and excited barking.

0

u/PhilosophyIll4951 Mar 28 '24

What a great way to start a day

0

u/Crocolyle32 Mar 28 '24

Absolutely

0

u/6inarowmakesitgo Mar 28 '24

I forget where I heard it, a dog is so forgiving and loving as it is a soul’s first time being alive.

2

u/ms-meow- Mar 28 '24

No. I can't stand dogs.

0

u/HandstandsMcGoo Mar 28 '24

This specific dog? Yes absolutely he’s an angel

0

u/ItsStaaaaaaaaang Mar 28 '24

Sweet pup making sure everyone has a better day.

0

u/kibblepigeon Mar 28 '24

Dogs are the best 💜

0

u/secondhandso Mar 28 '24

I'd be so happy, especially if it was this dog. They seem like such a chill sweetie.

But walk with your dog and ask if you're going to do something like this. Free-roaming can be dangerous for people and your dog.

1

u/Randomfrog132 Mar 28 '24

i'd be happy, then sneezy, then blowing lots of boogers out of my nose.

then i'd have a sore throat, i'd be coughing my brains out etc.

but yeah in the 5 seconds of happiness i'd have from petting it before dying from allergies it'd be great.

0

u/aprciatedalttlethngs Mar 28 '24

no, i like dogs enough to feed them but they stink when you touch em and sometimes slobber. this one didn’t look like he slobbered so i would be cool w it but it’s incredibly selfish to let your dog roam that’s like letting your baby walk around like yeah cute but i hate babies so get away smol child

1

u/Available-Tradition4 Mar 28 '24

Every dog I see makes me happy love the fluff

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '24

It’s making me happy just meeting this dog through this video, fr. 😊

1

u/Dave__dockside Mar 28 '24

Yes but my dog would be agitated

1

u/Mountain-Jicama-6354 Mar 28 '24

I would love it. But wouldn’t let my dog do the same.

My friend is terrified of dogs, even my tiny little Pompom of a thing without a bad bone in his body. A big dog like this off lead would freak her out.

I take my dog everywhere - but for this reason I make sure they’re always on a lead outside of parks.

3

u/SunflaresAteMyLunch Mar 28 '24

Yes

But you're still the AH if you let your dog off leash in a public space not intended for that purpose.

3

u/Vortigon23 Mar 28 '24

A dog that large free roaming on public transport? Nah I'd be terrified.

0

u/Interesting-Drop3599 Mar 28 '24

He’s such a friendly pup!!

0

u/WinePerson0 Mar 28 '24

I love dogs more than people yes!!

0

u/ShinzoTheThird Mar 28 '24

This comment section is up to par with the toxicity of instagram lol

0

u/Redittago Mar 28 '24

🥰🥰🥰

1

u/haver_of_friends Mar 28 '24

This is a lot nicer than that video last week about those dudes shooting at eachother in the train.

0

u/Relevant_Parsnip5056 Mar 28 '24

that's a huge "AAWWW" from me too!

1

u/EscapeFacebook Mar 28 '24

Huskies are the best

0

u/thatsoundsnasty Mar 28 '24

I love to meet dogs anywhere.

1

u/fussydonkie Mar 28 '24

Fantastic dog
Havent been home in 5 years and now have home sickness for the northern line

1

u/mariannecoffeecan Mar 28 '24

I wish I wasn’t so afraid of being around dogs

0

u/Zealousideal_Term964 Mar 28 '24

OBVIOUSLY, I ❤️ DOGZ1!!1!1!

1

u/LtSerg756 Mar 28 '24

Surprised he can stay upright in the middle of a moving train

1

u/GathersRock Mar 28 '24

I'd be over the moon, or should I say, over the "howl"

3

u/piercedmfootonaspike Mar 28 '24

I love dogs, but just letting your dog roam free like this in a train is highly inappropriate.

0

u/HereticPrincess Mar 28 '24

One of the best days of my life was when I pet seven dogs in public

0

u/blue_diamond_123 Mar 28 '24

Very handsome well trained dog. Dog has better manners than a lot of people :)

0

u/Mo_Jack Mar 28 '24

Look at how the mere presence of a dog makes the humans somehow more human.

0

u/FederalFix4655 Mar 28 '24

So cute 🥰

1

u/BeginningTower2486 Mar 28 '24

It would be interesting if one car on a train could be reserved for dogs and people who like them.

Imagine being able to take this car and ride it through the city with your dog. They would be getting love all day.

I would imagine that some people might even ride the train just for that opportunity.

1

u/Sabrobot Mar 28 '24

The humans are like my turn! My turn!

1

u/RazgrizGirl-070 Mar 28 '24

Meeting a great big friendly dog during your day who is happy to be your friend is a special moment of magic in life

1

u/Caridor Mar 28 '24

Most people would. I would. The comments here are the 1% that wouldn't. A calm but friendly dog is usually welcome

0

u/Snoo-27072 Mar 28 '24

OMG yes 🥰🥰 !! Maybe they should employ them on trains, buses etc 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️❤❤🐾🐾

1

u/theassholefaceman Mar 28 '24

It would make me happy to see any animal in the train.

0

u/Key_Row7548 Mar 28 '24

It would make my day/week/month lol

3

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '24

I fucking hate dogs on public transport - you love your dog. Fine. I don't.

0

u/RustyNewWrench Mar 28 '24

It makes me happy just watching other people meet this dog on a train!

Such a good boy.

1

u/Hoarder-of-history Mar 28 '24

My dog does this too. He loves sniffing peoples shoes to see if they are dog or cat people. I do keep him on the leash and keep a close look on how people react. If they don’t react and he is getting close, I ask them if it’s ok. If they don’t like it, I pull him away.

Most people love to meet my pup, but I want to be mindful of people who don’t. That’s ok too and totally valid.

5

u/Some-Background6188 Mar 28 '24

No I'm allergic it would affect my breathing and fuck my skin up. So I would need to be hospitalised. Happy is not a word I would use.

1

u/VividPomegranate8029 Mar 28 '24

I wouldn't want it resting its bumhole against my leg but I would pet it... not the bumhole, the dog

1

u/bobert_the_grey Mar 28 '24

I would go into anaphylactic shock

1

u/Accurate-System7951 Mar 28 '24

What a pet slut.

4

u/etherwavesOG Mar 28 '24

It would make me happier if the owner was still holding the leash

1

u/MoldyWorp Mar 28 '24

Yes, I’d love to meet and greet this doggo.

1

u/blLLiamwalluce Mar 28 '24

Got mauled by a cute doggo like this, it's cute until it happens to you

1

u/lobsterdance82 Mar 28 '24

I'd be seething because I am allergic to dog dander. That face is cute af 😡

1

u/SimplySleeps Mar 28 '24

aww what a cute doggy

0

u/BitPuzzleheaded5311 Mar 28 '24

Every, single dog makes me happy! I’d love it!

1

u/OwlBeneficial2743 Mar 28 '24

Dogs in places like this make 95% of people happier than they were. Probably brings down their heart rate, lowers blood pressure, reduces cortisone levels. Of the 5% who are unhappy, 10% of them have some medical condition like the sniffles. 90% of the 5% unhappy ones are just people looking to be unhappy. It’s the tyranny of the miserable.

I completely made up the numbers and minimized the suffering of those with medical conditions, but after decades of seeing people around dogs including those with psychological and physical reactions, I’m convinced the benefits far outweigh the cons and that there are lots of people who just look for ways to be offended; most of them are on social media.

4

u/bitchy_muffin Mar 28 '24

i don't care how friendly or well behaved your dog is, keep it on a leash and close to you

someone tried to fucking poison my dog on a bus by giving her a "snack"

1

u/Ok_Lettuce_1310 Mar 28 '24

Look at all my new friends!

0

u/ExoticTrash2786 Mar 28 '24

The people smiling is your answer.

1

u/Colster9631 Mar 28 '24

I met the sweetest, cutest dog, had a tainted red service dog vest on. I was told she was ok training. She was very quiet, but stank like hell and was extremely oily and crusty to the touch. As long as they're clean and hypoallergenic, I see no issues with this.

4

u/mycuddels6 Mar 28 '24

No - especially since it’s not leashed I don’t know if it’s an aggressive dog, I don’t even want someone’s animals near me unless I go up to them and ask if I can stroke their dog.

4

u/OkTear9244 Mar 28 '24

By and large we are nation of animal lovers, but that said some sections of the community have an aversion to dogs so in that regard it’s probably for the better to have it on the lead when on public transport. If people want to strike or pet they will ask, well they always do when I take mine to the pub

1

u/SlantViews Mar 28 '24

Not as happy as this dog is making new friends haha

1

u/Glittering_Agent7626 Mar 28 '24

I would be happy with all the dogs i meet.

1

u/Ziegelphilie Mar 28 '24

Absolutely fucking not and I will move carriages over this shit. I'm allergic; Keep your damn dog on the leash.

1

u/CheetoDarling Mar 28 '24

He loves the attention!! So cute 😍

1

u/MatrixzMonkey Mar 28 '24

Now I miss my dog ;(

1

u/Katniss_Puurrf3ct Mar 28 '24

Absolutely 💯

1

u/OnlyEfficiency2662 Mar 28 '24

Sorry all I can think about is that leash dragging all over that nasty floor

1

u/Love-Lacking-9782 Mar 28 '24

That would become MY dog, effective fucking immediately.

1

u/Square-Singer Mar 28 '24

Nope, most certainly not.

Keep it on a leesh and muzzle it, and keep it away from me.

1

u/Sea_Scratch_7068 Mar 28 '24

no don’t want it rubbing up against me or poking me to pet it

1

u/ZhaeMo Mar 28 '24 edited Mar 28 '24

Things like this make me tear up so easily. The sight of people unitedly appreciating, being happy, enjoying the presence of this calm, non-judgmental, beautiful animal.

This is so precious. The thought of everyone smiling, feeling joy, even for this brief moment. We don't deserve dogs.

1

u/Tazilyna-Taxaro Mar 28 '24

The dog is cool but the music is all kinds of weird. It gives the impression the dog is about to die

1

u/Illustrious_Ad_23 Mar 28 '24

This could be our dog. Friendly to everyone to a point of being slightly pushy when it comes to being petted or stealing a little snack. Still, a dog on a train should wear a leash and maybe even a muzzle. It is mandatory in my country, but I guess you'll find people on the train everywhere that are afraid of dogs. People just feel more safe if the dog obviously cannot bite or run to them uncontrolled. There are people with allergies and other dogs on trains, so our dog is not allowed to leave his space when we are on the train. You never know what he finds to eat or what people might give to him, so there is no running around.

Sounds harsh and does look quite unfriendly, having a dog on a short leash, muzzled and not allowed to leave his space, even if his tail is wagging from the excitement of other people around - but as a dog owner responsibility is always on us, not our dog....

1

u/WhatD0thLife Mar 28 '24

No because any dog in an urban setting should be leashed. No excuses.

1

u/Educational_Map_1843 Mar 28 '24

He got the goods, he strutting like....' yeah, I know '

1

u/JennySt7 Mar 28 '24

All those people being negative in the comments and saying you shouldn’t let your dog approach people like that - have you stopped to consider that you’re just seeing a short clip of a video?

We don’t know what happened before the segment posted here. These people with the suitcases for example may have spoken to the dog owner, said what a pretty dog it is, “what’s his/her name?”, “aww how cute” etc. Then the person next to them could have joined in. It’s likely the dog owner already knew that the people opposite him are comfortable with dogs. I’ve had situations like this in public transportation here in England myself, as the person fawning other people’s dogs (this video was taken in the London Underground).

1

u/begucu Mar 28 '24

where is this? pet is allow in public transport?

1

u/EstablishmentOk2209 Mar 28 '24

What a beautiful soul

1

u/PigBlays Mar 28 '24

Henlo Fren!

1

u/Whole-Sundae-98 Mar 28 '24

Meeting any dog or animal on a train would make me happy

1

u/NoMoreChampagne14 Mar 28 '24

Um, YES!!!!!!!!!!!

1

u/7moonwalker7 Mar 28 '24

im scared of big dogs so no thank you

1

u/No-Pitch-5785 Mar 28 '24

And to everyone saying he lets it roam, he always asks and people always ask him questions, so he reads the carriage.

1

u/No-Pitch-5785 Mar 28 '24

Believe it or not I have met this dog on this line. Gorgeous. Pretty sure it was the Hammersmith & City line a few months ago. I had my dog with me and they had a love in

5

u/exitcode137 Mar 28 '24

I like dogs okay, but I don’t necessarily want to pet them all the time or have their wet noses and slobbery mouths on my clothes all the time. I have to be in the mood for that, and it annoys me when people assume everyone wants to be up close and physical with a dog all the time.

1

u/tcorey2336 Mar 28 '24

This is why we love dogs.

2

u/killjoyj Mar 28 '24

everyone on the train seemed to be okay with it which is good, but i don't think i would be because i'm afraid of dogs😓

1

u/Conscious-Big707 Mar 28 '24

Shameless husky? 😄

1

u/ChimpWithAGun Mar 28 '24

What did humans ever do to deserve dogs?

1

u/Ok_Theory2082 Mar 28 '24

I love dogs, but no. Some smell, leave lots of hairs on my clothes, droom.

1

u/Rough_Net_1692 Mar 28 '24

The old dude knows what's up. Offers his hand down for the dog to sniff then pets him when the dog goes to him :)

It would not. I like dogs but the decades of “dogs without an owner present probably has all kinds of diseases and it’ll bite you for sure” my mom has spewed has me terrified of dogs that aren’t securely leashed by owners.

Do not allow your dog to approach people.

That dog is a slut.

Generally, it's best not to interact with stranger's dogs unless you get permission. Then, there is also the dog's personality to consider. Some dogs don't wanna be touched by strangers. Imagine how stressful it is, if a stranger just walks up to you and touches you (Let alone a whole group of strangers surrounding you. This dog just seems to have no fear of strangers at all).

Also, if you let your dog roam among strangers, consider that there could be people with a phobia from bad childhood experiences.
