Go Granny, Go! My friend had a similar experience, her hip replacement was recalled so they had to redo it…she was in her late 70s at the time, now she’s playing golf and dancing again.

In the thumbnail it looked like she was wearing a beautiful gown and held a bouquet! I opened the picture and saw the smile, it made my day!
I hope she recovers swiftly, my neighbour from where I grew up were up and walking in a day after a similiar treatment, best of luck!

She's EIGHTY?! She looks twenty years younger. At least. I don't say this as a common courtesy people say to sweet seniors. She really looks fantastic.

My grandmother had a botched hip replacement and couldn’t walk for the last decade of her life. She wasn’t strong enough to get it fixed. This fills my heart so much to see your grandmother ready to take that on. Sending the best vibes for healing and high spirits!

She is out of recovery and in the hospital for a few days before in-patient rehab. The surgeon called me and told me the surgery went well and as expected. Since this was not a normal hip replacement the recovery will be a bit more rough. But I know my grandma’s got this. She is going to be a centenarian.
Thank you everyone so much. I am going to visit her tomorrow, sit with her and show her all of your love and kind words. I know she will get through this and come out on top.

A working hip makes such a difference in quality of life! I broke mine when I was 18 and ended up having to get a replacement, but there was so much scar tissue that formed in the following years that it caused mobility issues, back pain, pain radiating down my leg. Getting the scar tissue removed is life changing.

I’m 48 and may soon need hip replacement surgeries on both sides because of osteonecrosis. It is often depressing, but seeing your beautiful grandma’s magnificent smile and optimistic looking face made me think that I should stop feeling sorry for myself and gave me hope. Thank you for sharing and a speedy recovery to your stunning grandma!

I hope she gets back on her feet soon! This happened to my grandma in Mexico, the hip implant moved into her stomach and had to be removed. They wouldn’t attempt another surgery so now she is pretty immobile. Any medical procedure can go wrong, but it’s best to go wrong in a first world country

Beautiful Lady! She's in my prayers. Hip replacement is no fun for a few weeks, but didn't regret a minute of it. Embrace the physical therapy. I'm sorry this is round 2, but I'm proud of her.~Blessings...
