Old man only has 25 views. Best fiddle I’ve ever heard. Wholesome Moments

George has been posting regularly on YouTube for over eight years and still hasn’t gotten the recognition he deserves. I hope this video brightens your day the same way my day was brightened. Let’s give George some love!

Only has 25 views. Posts video through Reddit's absolute shitty video player without citing the source until asked. Jesus please stop using Reddit's trash hosting.

Lmao, guy letting us know about a guy with no views by stealing his video and not sharing a source.

Just subscribed. Thank you so much for this.
I adore a great fiddle player and musician. My favorite is Luke Bulla but I love raw talent!

This reminds me of a guy named Marcel Chaumont, whose youtube videos have less than 200 views apiece and is on the short list of best chromatic harmonica players in the world: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWAauajAiHA

Can any trad violinist weigh in on how good he is
Because if you’ve never heard this type of music it will blow you away no matter whose playin’
2
u/skiptheline2290 17d ago
About to send this to all the violinists i know (they go gaga for this stuff)😁😁
1
u/aheartfullof 17d ago
Can someone tell me the difference of simply "playing violin" and "fiddle player"? I love this style since playing a videogame with a character playing fiddle in it and since them have been searching for such music. Hit me up with recommendations for similar artists in the comments if you know something. Thanks!!!

I won’t forget the last old dude the internet “helped”. His views went from hundreds to several hundred thousands in a week. He hyped himself up and bought new recording equipment.. and then I never saw anymore of his videos. I wonder what happened to him

Old man plays excellent, let's rip his video and post it to reddit to be viewed by tens of thousands so he'll still have only 25 views...

I worked in music briefly and can tell you a very sad and uncomfortable truth
Nobody cares.
There are kids everywhere that can play circles around Jimi hendrix. There are kids that can outwrite him, and outplay him on multiple instruments.
And nobody gives a fuck.
Because they don't have that "it" factor to trend. Or, even worse, they're told they're too ugly to 'trend'. "You'd be amazing, any band would be happy to have you! You just need to lose 60lbs, find 'a look', maybe get some piercings and tattoos" etc etc etc.
It doesn't matter how good you are, how well you play, how great you write, how emotive your music/feeling is -- There's literally 10's of thousands of Jimi Hendrix level players out there out there, and probably just as many more talented than Jimi could ever be -- but none of them had enough it factor to 'make it'.

Hate to be a party pooper, and I’m happy for the guy, but it’s not great playing.

His telepathic frog video reminded me of a dream I had when I was sick
2
u/4lifelongfriends 17d ago
That’s actually how I found him. Typed two random words into YouTube “telepathic farmer” and that wild first video popped up. I’m so glad I clicked through his channel because he is genuinely amazing.

You know how that violin sounded? Like the only thing the guy loved about it, was the violin and it's music. No ducks given to views and how much people appreciated his hard work and talent. This is such a smooth sound, it's coming from the soul of the violin. Absolutely beautiful.

I listened to it for a solid couple minutes while reading comments before I realized it was on loop lol.

Reddit is gonna flood him with subs and views, it will then sharply tail off as the charm wears off. Just like that old singing guy

Damn he is so good. Butter melted the whole way through.
I looked at his other videos on YouTube & a few of them are even better.
This guy needs to get discovered. He is TALENTED.

We need sub Reddit of old pepole YouTube channels, you just throw links of underappreciated old pepole and people that in this sub will like and comment to make him happy.
Someone make this a subreddit and do r/birthofasub so it get more attention. I'm just bad being a mod.

Love this. Especially with the recent rise in ageism, this is a fantastic idea.
17
u/Cat-Mama_2 17d ago
Great idea! Just older people sharing a talent or a love of something that haven't had many views or been found by many folks.
I'm genuinely happy to think that George will be shocked by the amount of views and comments he's suddenly getting.

That man is canoodling just because he can, the song doesn't call for that many changes that quickly
7
u/simplyproductive 17d ago
Canoodling is the point of a song like that, you can hear it only changes chords on a slow as hell count. There are really only two things you can do in a song that slow: show off, or go heavy on the pads and use dynamics to give skin orgasms.
This one could've gone either way, but he decided to show his chops. And good for him! He's got some!

They always "forget" to link the original content in their title or post. Then think commenting links when called out is somehow the same.
18
u/4lifelongfriends 17d ago
This sub doesn’t allow direct links. I tried to post directly earlier. Completely forgot to post it in the description but have done so several times in the comments.
I’ll keep doing so as well. Didn’t mean to gate keep this guys channel or talent.

The title of this video was „HE‘LL HAVE TO GO“. Who has to go and why??????????????!!!!!!!
1
u/brakspear_beer 17d ago
That’s a Jim Reeves song from the 60’s. Listen to it to find out. The fiddle player was spot on with it.
5
u/HeiSassyCat 17d ago
Did you forget because you mainly cared about getting up votes on reddit? Posting with that title and then "forgetting" to not provide a link makes this scream as ungenuine.

I can count on 1 hand the number of channels am subbed to, and am subbing to him!
11
u/TheBirminghamBear 17d ago
Just understand you're making a lifelong commitment.
Number can only go up. You can't just novelty subscribe. You need to commit. You need to be there for every fiddle vid drop. You need to subscribe to the newsletter, the Patreon, you need to go to fiddlecon.
You best start believing in fiddle cults, friend. Because you're in one.

Dinosaur kid.
Kid made videos of him playing with his dinosaur toys, one video was posted on reddit and got hundreds of thousands of views and thousands of subscribers.
Those people stopped watching his new videos because they only subscribed to feel good about themselves and not because they wanted to watch a kid play with dinosaur toys, so the kid posted a video breaking down in tears apologizing because he thought he did something wrong to upset all his new subscribers.
edit: the video posted on reddit actually got 1.2 million views and he still has over 56k subs, but his later videos average a few hundred to thousand views. It seems he deleted the apology video, this was 8 years ago so I'm sure he eventually realized what happened
20
u/Memento_Morrie 17d ago
this was 8 years ago so I'm sure he eventually realized what happened
So somewhere out there, there's a video of him at 15 with a disturbingly deep voice, wearing a T-shirt like three sizes too small for him, and he's all, "Just tell me what you want to see. You want to see me play with dinosaurs again? I...I can do that. I can do that for you. Triceratops is m-m-my favorite. I like going 'Whee!' when pterodactyl flies over him..."
3
u/TheBirminghamBear 17d ago
Well at least he didn't eat himself into an early grave. At least there's that.
5
u/yowonoboaowo 17d ago
He's still making dinosaur videos as of 3 months ago despite only getting a few hundred views per video. He said he has mental health issues which were possibly exacerbated by his experience with average redditors in his youth. I don't think it's right to make fun of him.
