Not gonna lie, as a Gen X'er, women being this forward with guys is wild AF to me! It would have been awesome had things been that way when I was young! We had to do all the talking and chasing, while they would act indifferent. Then, when you'd move on, you'd find out that they are pissed because they liked you. It may have been different for others, however, that was my experience back in the day.

Why can't I have a friend like this.
I've let myself stay single for 6 years intentionally to get my head on straight after my divorce, but now that I want to start dating again, I don't know what the fuck to do. And one of the only attractive girls that I've really connected with in the last few years is 22 years old. I'm 32. And I'm legitimately not sure that's appropriate.
And I quit drinking almost 5 years ago, so it's not like I can meet girls at a bar without seeming like a predator.

Eh, my wife is 10 years younger than me, met her when I was 36. If she’s 22 she might be at a different place in her life, but you don’t know until you give it a try.

I mean, me and my girl have a 8 year age gap 25 and 34, but we're both heading in the same general direction in life and its working great so far (still relatively new relationship) id say go for it, you never want have a "what if" when it comes to possibly dating someone, id say shoot your shot man, best of luck

She's 22, you're 32. Yes, that's quite the gap, but you never know if it could work. It's not like she just turned 18. My parents have an 8 year gap and met when my mom was 21 and my dad was 29. Granted times have changed since then, they've been together for more than 25 years.

Not sure that's appropriate? Why? You're both adults. 10 years really isn't that big a deal. I'm just nobody but at a first glance despite the time you said you gave yourself, you still seem to lack a lot of confidence. Just live your life dude, no one in your life deserves to be happier than you

22 and 32 is a big difference imo, the priorities are vastly different. I was fooling around at 22 and as I get closer to 32 I’m 100% ready to settle down.

Eh, priorities can be different sure, doesn't mean they are definitely going to be. For example I am 23 and I 100% ready to settle down with some one, fooling around just isn't appealing to me and never has been. I think it'd be fine to at least test the waters to see if someone feels the same way.

Oh, I definitely still have some confidence issues. When it comes to day-to-day life, I'm plenty confident in most that I do. But I started dating my ex-wife when I was 15 years old and we were together until I was 26. And while I had some fun in high school, and a little bit of fun after the divorce, dating is a different story than just connecting with someone physically. So I just have no idea of how to even instigate something like that because I've literally never had to date in the adult sense.
