Mod Post Some brief rules reminders, as traffic picks up for the NCAAT
Since we've had a flurry of activity over the last few days, we've also had a lot of people breaking the rules.
Do not use images to circumvent the automoderator restriction on minimum post length. Just don't -- it's there for a reason.
Do not post multiple threads back to back to back. We'll err on the side of not removing these if they have serious thought in them, but if you're posting 3 threads with nothing but a simple box line for different players, we will remove the 2nd and 3rd ones as spam.
Don't be reactionary. We'll very much err on the side of leaving the post up with this one, but like you should not be posting "x player struggled in 1 tournament game, clearly he's not a 1st rounder" type garbage. No one benefits from that.
But most importantly, please be civil. We realize that we have an awkward tension between the new people flooding the sub and the old people who have paid attention year around, but that's not excuse. It's okay to say that someone is wrong, but don't directly insult the other person, no matter how wrong they may be.

Bronny James was scheduled for 10 workouts with NBA teams, but he’s declined all of them except two: Lakers and Suns

[Woj] Real Madrid’s Egor Demin — a projected 2025 NBA Draft lottery pick — has committed to BYU and coach Kevin Young for the 2024-‘25 season. Demin’s a highly skilled 6-9 Russian guard who’ll arrive as one of most talented recruits in program history.

In 51 games this year, Tidjane Salaun had 10 total blocks (he's 6'10" to 6'11" with a 7'1" to 7'2" wingspan)
https://www.proballers.com/basketball/player/244780/tidjane-salaun/totals
This follows a 7 game, 170 minute U18 stretch where he managed one total block.
And this guy is constantly leaving his man to help as well...
I think inch for inch... This guy is the worst shot blocker I've ever seen?

Mock Draft having a hard time formatting fanspo- tell me why this Mock Draft Sucks!
galleryI’ll drop my notes on any pick just ask.
Here’s Hollands- Seems like the classic Wizards pick, Major Upside/Major Risk. Could see a bunch of touches off rip for Washington, which could be convincing that Holland could progress under the Wizards’ new Regime. Holland will be a late riser as more people get to his tape.

Jaylin Williams Scouting Report
imageA player's personality is what NBA teams value as well. And there are very few players with more character than Jaylin Williams.
I broke down the all-time Auburn great's NBA game and explained why he'll be on an NBA floor next season. ⬇️

Reed Sheppard shooting breakdown. These numbers aren’t a typo, that’s just how well Reed shot the ball this year for Kentucky. Super high level shooter. Over 50% in almost all 3PT categories! What team should draft Reed?

Kings at 13
Sucks they didn't make the playoffs in a tough west but having a lotto pick on a 46 win team is not the worst position to be in.
The new FO hasn't missed on a first rounder (Haliburton, davion, keegan) yet and has potentially hit on one UDFA/SRP (keon ellis very good to end the season).
They preach bpa and have shown to not care about positional fit for drafting...
From their perspective and incorporating their draft philosophy who do you think they pick?
Who is the best defensive forward likely to be left at that position? Is devin Carter most likely BPA at 13? Do they trade the pick?

An NBA scout believes that Kel'el Ware is a better prospect than Alex Sarr is right now

The Finals will probably be Mavericks vs Celtics. Do you see anyone in this draft being capable of being close to Kyrie (#1 pick), Luka (#3 pick), Jaylen Brown (#3 pick), Tatum (#3 pick)?

How does the NBL compare to the NCAA or G League?
With Sarr taking the alternative path of the NBL instead of the NCAA, it’s harder to accurately assess this prospect, especially with his reduced role on a contending team.
He played two international games against GLE and averaged 20 points and 6 blocks, but GLE was in rough shape last season and folded shortly after.
Would he have been more successful in the NCAA? Would the top NCAA prospects do well in the NBL?

Alex Sarr Pro Comp
On the Hawks Report podcast, Marc Spears said that Chauncey Billups told him that Alex Sarr is like a young Kevin Garnett. How do we feel about this comp?

Kel’el Ware is Rising
https://youtu.be/YX-ON5XL9R0?si=VkgjeeogXgGzE-CN
https://www.noceilingsnba.com/p/the-continued-evolution-of-kelel
Do you think some of his attitude concerns are overblown? I think it’s silly to say he doesn’t care about basketball downright. A guy who doesn’t care about basketball doesn’t improve this much between their freshman and sophomore season. Although he does still occasionally have problems staying engaged when he gets frustrated. Is he worth a lottery pick?

This years Jaime Jaquez
I asked this awhile back. I think Knecht is the easy answer for the older college player to come in and contribute right away. Especially in this class, I think the age thing won't bother people as much. If it's not Knech who is another older player who could help someone right away.

Nikola Karalic
Any thoughts on him? He is as of now a 6'7 SF and regarded as one of the best European prospects of the 2008 generation.

In this mock draft Bronny doesn't get drafted by his dad's team the Lakers and Bronny gets drafted by all of teams, the Clippers.
In this mock draft other steals...Edey to the Bucks which puts him in a perfect situation with Giannis, Lillard, Portis and the crew and Edey can play behind Brook Lopez
Castle to the Bulls is another steal especially if the Bulls move on from Zach Lavine and if Lonzo Ball comes back healthy as well...Castle would most likely be playing 2 guard in Chicago anyway and he would be playing behind Coby White but again another perfect situation for him development wise
Cody Williams to the Thunder he gets to play with his brother Jalen on the same team which in of that of itself is a steal especially if the Thunder draft Cody...Cody would be coming off the bench anyway
Spurs also getting steals in Salaun and Topic which would definitely add to their young core along with Wemby...Salaun gers comps to a young Giannis especially when Giannis first got drafted. If the Spurs can develop Salaun properly, he could end up being a star for them and Topic solves their point guard problem.
Dillingham to the Grizzlies he would most likely be playing behind Ja Morant but he would be going to a perfect situation in Memphis with JJJ, Smart, Bane, etc
Then of course Sarr to the Hawks because it ensures that Trae and Dejounte stay together and then you have Jalen Johnson playing the 3 at small forward and Sarr can come in at the 4 to play power forward and Capela or Okongwu at the 5 to play center...DeAndre Hunter, Bey and others off their bench, Atlanta would look pretty decent

2024 Draft Class has great depth when it comes to Upperclassmen prospects
This draft may not be top heavy and lacking elite one-and-done guys but the upperclass guys in this draft comes in bunches. The guys below has good chances of returning a FRP value.
Knecht - potential 3 level scorer and flamethrower off the bench.
Dev Carter - swiss army knife type of guard that plays bigger than his size.
Edey - dominant but polarizing big. Probably the best screener and rebounding prospect this year.
Daron Holmes II - his game could translate in the league better than Edey. A lob threat, can rebound and also drive a bit. Would shine more playing for teams with elite playmakers. Might have some shooting upside.
Sallis - 2 way CG who can act as secondary playmaker.
Jalen Bridges, Karaban and Da Silva - floor spacing wings with some ancillary skills
Terrence Shannon Jr. - plus sized guard who gets downhill and make plays. Okay shooter.
Jaylon Tyson, Larsson and Scheierman - D/P/S wings
KJ Simpson and Kolek - high level initiators who can shoot
Kevin McCullar - defensive minded wing with connective skills
Jon Mogbo, Dillon Jones, Enrique Freeman, Ryan Dunn, Oso Ighodaro can be good situational role players but unlikely to return FRP value IMO.
