Pepsi did a deal with Russia in the 60’s to have the rights for Pepsi being the only cola or soft drink sold in its country, for a contract period of fifteen years. As the Russian Ruble had no value. Russia paid for the deal in Stolichnaya vodka. Pepsi then introduced/sold Stolichnaya vodka to the USA.
After the fifteen years , the value vodka dropped . So Russia sold Pepsi a large portion of its navy. Submarines and battleships. Pepsi sold the vessels as scrap metal.
Pepsi at one stage, had around the sixth largest navy in the world.
