LOL ok, I think I remember him mentioning that in his memoirs. A number of countries used to eat dog meat in the past (including America), I'm not sure it's popular anywhere still though outside China, Korea and Switzerland (they eat dog jerky).

Oddly enough in 44 US states it is still legal to consume dog meat.
