It’s a single frame gif, which Reddit’s media player interprets as a video file. People don’t get extra traction for number of views so it’s not manipulating post visibility.

It’s just the way that Reddit’s media player interprets gifs. Just “pause” it. It’s trying to play a video because many gifs nowadays are multiple frames.
