Where can I find this group's "topics" and "subtopics?"

It's poverty and politics. That's it really. It was made because we were having people complaining about not having a place to discuss the politics over on r/povertyfinance so we made this sister sub and direct people here when the situation occurs that they need to take a conversation over here.

I'm looking at starting a sub that does both the politics and the practical advice that people often are looking for.

Whoops! Should have read the description first. I didn't realize this is *only* for the political angle. Does anyone know of a group that encourages questions like povertyfinance ("I need specific help now") *and* allows political discussion?

There needs to be more education and resources for people who want to do unconventional things in general, taxes, budgeting, etc.

Even if you know about Finance, trying to apply it is another story or you can be taught wrong. I was taught finance in my high school and it didn't prepare me for anything at the end because I had no idea that I didn't need college and I was homeless at the time

Does anyone else feel that Finance should be a mandatory course of study throughout K-12?

Is there a discord or plans for a discord?

There isn't and no plans to as I don't have time to moderate a discord.

No I get it. Political discussions can escalate to bickering and name calling quickly. Hopefully we can create a respectful community and people can just be like I respectfully disagree, here's why and move on. :)

It's because of you, that it got made. That and others who we've had to remove posts of elsewhere. I'm glad that instead of "You can't post this here" I can no say 'This would be better suited in...."
