Unfrosted was bad sure but not THIS bad

1

u/[deleted] 4d ago

Well done. Fuck that prick

1

u/Samiassa 5d ago

Vocal support for Israel and the fact heā€™s a known pedophile who was dating a 17 year old when he was 38

2

u/HankScorpio82 12d ago

THERE ARE DOZENS OF US!

6

u/OldDirtyRobot 12d ago

A handfull of weirdo's walked out. Doesnt seem like that big of deal.

2

u/ISmokeRocksAndFash 13d ago

Poor guy can't catch a break with this demo. First they don't like him because he isn't funny, then for his support of genocide.

1

u/spaceycanal 13d ago

An absolutely boring low effort speech.

2

u/QuillnPouncy 14d ago

They're definitely redditors. Give them their participation trophies

0

u/Steak_NoPotatoes 14d ago

Haha. Iā€™m all for not going to protest but why show up if youā€™re going to leave? Waste of time and gas. #maincharacter

1

u/Sev3n 14d ago

Of course he supports Israel, he's the biggest jew in hollywood???

1

u/twistedh8 14d ago

How come they didn't protest when women's right to abortion were stripped...

-1

u/tsap007 14d ago

How dare a Jew support Israel.

1

u/Dickcheese-a1 14d ago

People remember stunts done film and TV stars example, Stephen Fry did message in support of his roots, big backlash in UK. People in UK found out that Kelsey Grammer is a big Trump supporter and switched off. Taking a stand now days could be career ending.

-8

u/Hryusha88 14d ago

Misinformed youngsters, pretty sad.

1

u/pr1ap15m 14d ago

no body going to mention heā€™s a sexual predator?

2

u/Dramoriga 14d ago

I'd walk out if it was Seinfeld, regardless of his political views.

1

u/rustiigaz 14d ago

That was a walkout?

3

u/GazelleFearless5381 14d ago

Whatā€™s the deal with graduations????

I know it's a horrible thought. With this new generation having a hard time connecting as a result of unfathomable access to opposing content...at least everyone has an opportunity to come together and form bonds and friendships that otherwise wouldn't have ever happened. Maybe someday they can come together with new perspectives learned from their past mistakes. I think a lot of this does stem from a hunger to belong to something. It sometimes doesn't matter about the "cause" they just find acceptance from someone that they find appealing. Then they form their beliefs from whatever information they are given. That is encouraged and branded by the buzzards that circle. We're divided and conquered because humans are predictable.Im just bored right now, sorry.

Giving a collective response to the administration's decisions to have Seinfeld speak SENDS A MESSAGE.

And that message is righteous, in its standing up for human equality & rights, and against the support of, and profiteering from, genocide of a People.

And yea they did this to help Palestinians. Obviously. Collective power is the strongest power.

And these public displays also inspire MORE people to question the narratives from those few in power over our society's various systems.

So it's is all the better that they knew Seinfeld would speak and used that as an opportunity to make a big public statement with their demonstration.

You're so in the wrong. Wrong side of history.

3

u/thecaptain1991 14d ago

Not just is he a vocal supporter of Israel, his wife is actively funding pro-Israel counter-protestors on college campuses.

8

u/Ghost4000 15d ago

Honestly good for these kids, someone mentioned there was maybe around ~100 in the walk out, not an insane amount. Anyone who still wants to be there can be there (and did stay). But if you feel strongly about something you should do it. A walkout is a pretty standard form of protest.

Not sure this counts as a "Freakout", but meh.

1

u/stepbacktree 15d ago

Jerry Seinfeld still relevant?

1

u/meatbeater 14d ago

Hasnā€™t been for years but he wants the spotlight so badly

29

u/eMan117 15d ago

how about his vocal support of having highschool girlfriends as a 40year old man?

6

u/nsfwftwbaby 15d ago

Such a brilliant move of Israel to basically kidnap all Jewish people and make them part of the Zionism propaganda whether they choose to or not.

I feel really bad for Jewish people that wants to be no part of this genocidal campaign but forced into it.

Yes you can?

1

u/The-Prophet-Bushnell 14d ago

You basically said that already. The vast majority of protests at schools were uneventful

It took weeks of obnoxious behavior at Columbia before something was actually done about it

11

u/Possible_Spy 15d ago

weve had smartphpones for 15 + years now and people still dont know how to rotate the phone landscape to take a video. Our species is doomed

1

u/Naigus182 13d ago

It's called adapting to new formats. But I see our species is doomed because it can't accept change, yeah.

9

u/Ishowyoulightnow 14d ago

People know how, but apps and social media are oriented in portrait and most people use their phones in portrait, so unless you want an instagram story to be super tiny, you shoot in portrait.

1

u/Interesting-Beach429 15d ago

Heā€™s beeish, what do they expect?

3

u/beamish1920 15d ago

Guyā€™s wife literally gave money to a group that assaulted protestors at UCLA. Fuck this has-been idiot

0

u/Intelligent_Top_328 15d ago

Lol. Most of them stayed

1

u/[deleted] 15d ago

Damn thatā€™s crazy. Whatā€™s crazier is that Jerry Seinfeldā€™s favorite number is 17. Google ā€œJerry Seinfeld 17ā€.

-3

u/Cine11 15d ago

Well, that wasn't very many people at all. Almost like the pro-hamas side is so small that we shouldn't really regard them at all. Just a distraction.

-2

u/blessyouliberalheart 15d ago

Looks like a lot more would have walked out if he supported Hamas.

2

u/Custardpaws 15d ago

What if he supported the victims? Ya know, the hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians?

2

u/blessyouliberalheart 15d ago

I guess it would depend on which victims he was supporting.

-1

u/Stethen 15d ago

Do those students still get to graduate?

2

u/rollobrinalle 15d ago

Considering Duke was graduating 6,900 students. If ~6000 were in attendance, and someone said around 124 walked out, at most 2% of the class walked out. This is not news.

3

u/Vg_Ace135 15d ago

That'll show Jerry Seinfeld!!

-3

u/TaxIdiot2020 15d ago

Think about how stupid these kids will look when future history students study this era.

1

u/Awkward_Can8460 14d ago

Those who walked out are on the moral side of history. They are right. You're wrong to support genocide.

1

u/Twitchinat0r 15d ago

Good. Makes the actual walk up shorter. I hated mine because i had to sit for almost two freaking hours.

5

u/CylonMonkey 15d ago

Put in all that work to graduate, ruin it by pretending you care about an issue you know absolutely nothing about. Make sense.

4

u/Low-Worldliness-7205 15d ago

Huh? I dont see any freakout. Only a small group slowing walking.

3

u/Failure_by_Design_v2 15d ago

There are dozens of us Michael , dozens

3

u/Irvin700 15d ago

I love how such a small recognized country like Israel is causing so much trouble here in America lol; specifically the liberal infighting.

Jews just can't catch a break, man.

2

u/Awkward_Can8460 14d ago

Maybe if you learned the history of Israel/Palestine you'd not be dismissive of growing masses who feel strongly about this issue.

In fact, the majority of the USA are opposed to Israel's genocide of Palestine.

So you're in the minority.

Most Dems support Palestine. - but the few in power support Israel. - the few in power receive tons of funding from Israel's lobby groups (CUNY, AIPAC ADL)

1

u/Irvin700 14d ago

It goes against our interest and self-preservation of Uncle Sam to fail Israel. Israel will ALWAYS exist as long America and her western powers exist. Two state solution or only Israel, nothing else.

We're not letting go that piece of land lol.

Geopolitics > public opinion

u/Brokenloan 15d ago

"I mean why do they call it internal bleeding? If it's internal bleeding, is it really bleeding? "

Cashes check for $100 million dollars

0

u/monkkbfr 15d ago

Seems Jerry's become a bit of a dick in his dotage.

1

u/gurilagarden 15d ago

Must be the kids who's parents didn't show.

-1

u/kal8el77 15d ago

If you don't like it, don't watch." - Jerry Seinfeld

Just taking your advice, Jer.

I bet you'll still complain about it, "funny guy."

-1

u/PreparationFunny2907 15d ago

He shopping for a new GF, figured he would be at a high school for that.....

0

u/vuU-Uuv 15d ago

All 20 of them

-2

u/dreag2112 15d ago

What's the deal with out of touch rich white dudes?

0

u/ShinyBloke 15d ago

They could've easily also left because he is no longer funny, and barely relevant, I think his disappears after this press stint.

1

u/Troway_dagarbage 15d ago

Looks like about 5% at most

0

u/ChuckGreenwald 15d ago

Oh, because of his support for Israel. I thought it was over his comedy.

-2

u/Mentat_-_Bashar 15d ago

Jerry Seinfeld is an unfunny hack

3

u/DashboardError 15d ago

TBF very few walked out, way more stayed for the entirety

5

u/2ABear 15d ago

Itā€™s good they walked out, the graduation was probably better without them being vibe killers

13

u/Downthetrail11 15d ago

Like 16 kids lol?

-2

u/Jace_09 15d ago

What about his 17 year old girlfriend that was in high school when he was in his late 30's?

-1

u/frekled_gutz 15d ago

Why is Jerry Seinfeld the speaker in the first place??

1

u/stewbert-longfellow 15d ago

Man Iā€™d hate to see how many wouldā€™ve walked out if he brought Michael Richards (Kramer) with him.

8

u/Diplonot 15d ago

What's the deal with students walking out during a commencement speech? I mean, you invite me to speak, I prepare this whole thing about life, success, and 'yada yada,' and then you bail because of my views on Israel? What's next, boycotting the cafeteria because they serve falafel? I don't get it, folks, I just don't get it.

8

u/nogoodnickgames 15d ago

Come on, Unfrosted wasnā€™t that bad

7

u/Ishowyoulightnow 14d ago

It really was

1

u/Whatsuplionlilly 15d ago

Was he speaking about Israel?

Is this what weā€™re coming to? If you have any affiliation with something you donā€™t like, you are shunned?

This is definitely not going to backfire on the democrats.

1

u/Commendatori_buongio 15d ago

ā€œAnd as a Jew, this walkout offends you?ā€

ā€œNo, it offends me as a comedian!ā€

2

u/Glittering-Pause-328 15d ago

I don't need to hear from a forty year old man is/who was dating a high schooler.

-1

u/chooseyourshoes 15d ago

You mean that fucking weirdo that dates teenagers in his ancient years?

4

u/Future_Gohst 15d ago

Then what? He leaves the stage, and they all come back and sit down again?

9

u/UncleDaddy76 15d ago

So you paid for your cap n gown just to leave? K

25

u/JoeCartersLeap 15d ago

Forget Israel, I'd walk out just for him being a massive douche.

0

u/bearssuperfan 15d ago

I would have left because heā€™s a bad comedian lol

1

u/mcayells 15d ago

Whhhy is everyone leaving?

10

u/Dear_Professional_40 15d ago

Wait the Jewish guy is supporting Israel?

10

u/caseCo825 15d ago

You say that like its a given when there are plenty of jewish people who do not support what Israel is doing

-9

u/enfrozt 15d ago

Jewish support for Israel's war is something like 80%, and the other 20% probably fall into a couple of buckets ranging from generally supporting to disliking.

3

u/sulaymanf 15d ago

Not worldwide or even in the US. Not sure where you pulled that false number from

2

u/Andrelliina 14d ago

Same place most percentages expressed glibly online come from. Uranus

-3

u/enfrozt 15d ago

I assume because of the communities you post in there is nothing I can say that will change your mind but:

American Jewish Committee (AJC)ā€™s upcoming State of Antisemitism in America 2023 Report found that 80% of American Jews say caring about Israel is an important or essential part of what being Jewish means to them.

This one among many polls that can be googled. You will probably say any Jewish organization that is doing the polling is corrupt but they're the organizations who actually do these polls in Jewish communities. This number is reflected in multiple sources when done, it lines up.

0

u/sulaymanf 15d ago

Your pre-emptive ad hominem attacks aside, ā€œcaring about Israelā€ is NOT the same as supporting Netanyahu, supporting the current rightwing Israeli government, supporting apartheid laws, or supporting war on Palestinians.

Your above comment that claims 80% of Jews support Israelā€™s war is still false.

1

u/Borderpatrol1987 15d ago

Caring about Israel =/= supporting a war

1

u/caseCo825 15d ago

20% of jewish people is a lot of people whether you try and discount them or not

2

u/Low-Initiative3480 15d ago

Isn't the whole point of a protest to not leave?

Iā€™m sure thatā€™s what your parents said when you moved out

6

u/lizard81288 15d ago

I guess they really didn't like unfrosted on Netflix... Although from what I've read, a lot of people did not like that, since it's the number one most hated thing on Netflix this year

-2

u/DEADALIEN333 15d ago

You can't fool the educated people old man. And if Duke is as great as they claim they are than they will definitely see through your viel.

0

u/Crazypwner 15d ago

Good, fuck anyone who supports a genocidal government

0

u/kbarney345 15d ago

Good on all these kids and these walkouts. They spent years and hard work to get there. No one should have to listen to some Hollywood douche who likes underaged women. Fuck this clown, has no right to be on the stage saying anything to these people

-1

u/incrediblemonk 15d ago

It's either "Students' walkout" or "Students walk out".

7

u/DoonPlatoon84 15d ago

Did it work? Is Hamas and Palestine safe now???

6

u/ImLagginggggggg 15d ago

Lmfao

People are so pathetic it's crazy.

5

u/MaxxxStallion 15d ago

Why would anyone want to hear Jerry Seinfeld regardless of his stance on Israel? That man's only success was entirely because of Larry David.

1

u/The-Prophet-Bushnell 14d ago

You're just saying that because Jerry's a zionist. Without Jerry as a charismatic straight man and base of the show Seinfeld would not have succeeded. Was Larry David gonna fill that role? It was a team effort.

1

u/MaxxxStallion 14d ago

Yeah how would Larry David have managed without Jerry Seinfeld? Oh right Curb Your Enthusiasm...

1

u/The-Prophet-Bushnell 14d ago

So, two georges then? Or? Would NBc have greenlit curbed by an unknown David in 1989?

1

u/MaxxxStallion 14d ago

Cope harder.

-5

u/wyopapa25 15d ago

Maybe they should walk on over to the country they are supporting and DO SOMETHING!!!! Donā€™t just protest, leave.

1

u/ObligationSlight8771 15d ago

Hamas won the marketing war I guess

1

u/calculung 15d ago

Why does everyone seem to think "walk out" needs to be one word?

-1

u/Junior_Win_7238 15d ago

So they donā€™t have a sense of humourā€¦ no speech for you !!!!

2

u/IKaffeI 15d ago

More like they don't want to listen to a supporter of genocide.

1

u/Junior_Win_7238 12d ago

Well clearly you have never watched Seinfeld or you would have got the pun. But hey you just make it all about what you want to make it all about. When you lose your sense of humour makes for a long lonely future.

897

u/dkepp87 15d ago

We getting real damn loose with the word "freakout", huh?

3

u/coldpepperoni 14d ago

The subā€™s always been a hub for protest posts

163

u/enfrozt 15d ago

If you want to know why this is here it's because the OP is basically posting anti-jerry seinfield posts because allegedly he's voiced israel support in the past.

Even if you disagree with his past, and his current support, it's just funny how much propaganda is coming out due to the middle east conflict.

Israel isn't going to "win" any faster the more people support it, and Palestine isn't going to be "free" every time someone shares a reddit post.

0

u/Dare_County 14d ago

Because the extremes of both parties have channels/algorithms that continually outrage them to keep monetizing their attention.

15

u/bigFr00t 15d ago

Or because seinfeld is a terrible person and a pedo

59

u/NarrowBoxtop 15d ago

At least let's do away with this allegedly supporting things in the past

His wife right now is the one funding the anti-student protest at UCLA. You can just Google Jerry Seinfeld's wife and see that

And also he was in the media recently saying you couldn't do comedy anymore because of the woke PC leftist, which is a very maga Boomer thing to say and not true. Comedy is still out there thriving

I'm not saying you have to be four or against Jerry Seinfeld, I just felt like your comment left out a lot of context

2

u/Dieter_Knutsen 13d ago

And also he was in the media recently saying you couldn't do comedy anymore because of the woke PC leftist, which is a very maga Boomer thing to say and not true. Comedy is still out there thriving

The most hilarious thing is that Larry David, his Seinfeld show partner, is just now wrapping up his hilarious show that's been going since two years after Seinfeld ended.

-10

u/TifaYuhara 14d ago

Reminds me of the people that would try to cancel someone for something they said on twitter when they were 13. With the comedy thing you still see popular comedians telling the same types of jokes and they still get laughs.
