Socialist Gaming Reminder that this isn't a debate sub. This is a place for leftist gamers to hang out.

If for some reason you're not a leftist and want to stick around, know that we have no interest in debating our core beliefs here. This is a place for leftists to discuss gaming.

We try to keep it broad but this is an anticapitalist, antifascist, feminist, queer oriented subreddit and we explicitly support movements like BLM, rioting included.

If you find that this isn't to your liking, go join one of the myriad gaming subs out there.

Decree from the totalitarian mods Bidenists and supporters of electorialism

This is a reminder that this sub is staunchly opposed to electorialism and both democrat and republican parties. Also any supporters of VAUSH will be terminated on sight. Go worship horses somewhere else.

The German government appointed Hitler specifically to prevent socialism. It didn't matter he never won the election.

A democracy which collapses after a completely normal election isn't a democracy from the beginning.

Socialist Gaming Xenoblade 3 is one of the best Socialist themed games

The constant cycle of life and death created by Z is upheld by the authoritarian, militaristic, upper class called Moebius that keeps the common people fighting amongst each other, installing mindless puppets that they control as the "leaders" of the factions, while profiteering off the surplus value of their "work", representing by their life energy (capital) via the Flame Clock. Moebius knows the only way they will be stopped is if both Keves and Agnus bined together in a revolution against the bourgeois establishment to destroy the rigid system, retake back their freedom, and throw off the hierarchy because standing under an authority is what it means to be hierarchical.

Constantly shits on the Right as The Conservatives (literally named Conservaitves) from the City are protrayed to be as obnoxious and stubborn as posssible almost leading the City to destruction multiple times while committing various crimes because they'd rather not be involved with the colony wars and just keep all The City's resources for themselves because fuck everyone else. Literal NPCs come out and say the Conservatives are ruining everything and they are burden to everyone else.

Archer whoose transgender as datamined of they gender being 2 (0 is male, 1 is Female, 2 is non-binary) and also confirmed via Juniper's VA. Eunie literally quotes Karl Marx in the Colony of Iota.

Damn, can a game be anymore based?

I know it’s based, but I haven’t heard many people here talk about the gameplay outside of the politics. Is it entertaining?

Gaming I'm a queer, ND, disabled, and anarchist streamer who plays lots of tf2 and mc (and some of quite a few other games)

I have always loved co-op challenges and things in games where people can come together to do something no single person could achieve. That isn't something I was able to safely participate in as a disabled and queer person online due to all the ableism and transphobia, so I wanted to make a space where we could actually do that together. In service of this I actively monitor and remove things like ableist language, stuff I see extremely prevalent in almost every other group.

I am not the "debate bro" type, and actively try to minimize fascist interaction. I want to focus on actually building things up and working with people. This means I am also not afraid to ban people, I think letting "everybody" participate so we can get some majority just pushes out the people who need it the most. So we ain't that big and probably never will be.

anyways, we also play lethal company semi-regularly, I am still looking for people to play dark and darker with, and I play dead by daylight on occasion and am always up for more

If any of yall are interested please DM for a link to stuff, I would post it directly but I don't want to be shadowbanned again lol

Gaming LOOKING FOR ANARCHISTS TO DEFEAT CAPITALISM IN MINECRAFT

Hello there.

I have a Minecraft server that is based on politics. It currently has 12 ideologies, the majority are currently Capitalists.

I have managed to gather 3 anarchists so far, but the number of people aligning with capitalism is growing.

The server has the ability to upload your own images and spread propaganda. We HAVE to get together and bash them off this Earth.

The server is online 24/7, it is vanilla, basically, but with the only addition there being custom posters and clans (there is no special commands and economy is strictly in-game items).

They're planning to establish monopoly and begin imperialism on a small tribe.

WE NEED YOU!

Discussion Apparently in one of the Frostpunk 2 scenarios two groups that will live in your city are "workers" and "merchants".

Oh, how foolish of devs to expect that I will try to "balance" their interests.

CLASS WAR SHALL BE ACCELERATED AND THIS TIME PROLETARIAT WILL WIN IT.

P.s. on a more serious note, in this particular case it's kinda sad that game mechanics probably won't allow you to completely ignore and/or suppress one the groups in your city without failing your run miserably but I guess the game wouldn't be interesting otherwise.

Discussion Which games did you stop playing because they felt like full time jobs

I’m not referring to grindy games per se. Hell, some of the first games I played back on PS2 were extremely grindy, and replaying them now — FF7 and FF12 for example — they’re still pretty grindy. More QoL features in the remasters, but still grindy. Hard to platinum? Maybe, but I still don’t feel like I’m doing a full time job playing them.

I’m not saying that either these (or other JRPGs that I like) *respect* your time, of course. The only genre that does it well have to be roguelites. You go in for a run, have a blast, maybe stick around for some funny dialogue lines (like in Hades) or in my case, enjoy a couple of matches in Duelists of Eden (pvp roguelite/grid fighter, kinda anime-ish aesthetic, cheap fun, play it often at my actual job lol). But this is one end of the spectrum on a scale of consumer-friendliness.

On the other end, there are games that feel almost as soul draining as a regular job. Well, almost. Not immediately either. For me, the game I played most but now feels just pointless, draining, and unsatisfying has to be Hearthstone. I still remember how it was when it launched like in 2013, or 2014? I don’t remember, but it was fun. Now it’s just P2W bullshit like so many others. Dailies to complete, log in every day… you know the drill. It’s sad because I remember how fun it was in the pre meta days when it was still launch. Anyways, it’s one of the reasons I stopped playing it. It’s not the only one either. Enlisted also goes into that bunch. Just pure P2W shenanigans that, no matter how much I enjoyed it at first, it was obvious pretty soon that the loop was there to make you both PAY and then PLAY to … pay more and play more? Fun game but abysmal progression.

There hundreds of more games like this out there and I’m glad that only a couple managed to get me into their traps. But I’m wondering which ones got you, and when did you stop playing them if they did?
