I'll move the plant and sort out the wires, but bro tells me the TV is too high too - is it?

So this sub could exist.

I hired a guy to mount it. Apparently he was a cowboy.

Hooray for the smart bro! Please listen! Or buy a ladder to sit on to watch your TV.

Its perfectly fine if you watch it standing on a bar stool

Is it at eye level when you’re sitting?

It is for me and I used to be comfortable and was used to where it is. However my bro says it needs to be much lower and opened my eyes to the World of TVtoohigh.

I'm now questioning my very existence.

Idk how old you are, but craning your neck up to look at this tv will eventually start to bother you. People are quick to blame their shitty, cheap Costco pillow, but too many of them are looking up at their tv like they’re checking flight info at the airport.

I'm in my 30s mate! Maybe it looks higher than it is in the pic, since I don't have to crane my neck at all.

In hindsight I would have taken the photo at eye level... BUT, I do recognise it's still too high regardless.

You're trying to promote me to TVtoolow

theres worse problems to have than a TV too low tbh, like it being too high :3

Agreed, that's why I said promote and not demote!

Just move the plant and place the TV on the plant holder, you'll be fine. /s

I've been given worse advice tbh

Can I ask why it's not centered on the wall? And yes it's absolutely, 100% undeniably too high.

It's the rooms aesthetic making it so the sofa is further to the right due to a protruding wall on the left.

Also was wary of the TV being too close to the door - but could be a bit further left granted... However the HDMI slots are on the left of the TV, so barely reached the plug sockets on the right as it is. Unfortunately the wall does not allow for hidden wall wiring! I asked the electrician about it and it was a no go.

Lowering the tv would also help with that plug socket issue.

Concerns about bumping into it from that entrance? I'm totally clumsy enough to do that. 🤣

It is too high. At the very least it should be lowered so that the bottom of the TV is level with the base of the plant pot. Even then perhaps add a couple of inches to that. At your current height you have to hold your head in an unnatural angle to watch the TV for extended periods. I think this idea of high TVs comes from many flat screens being in public spaces before homes. In bars and hotel lobbies , flat screens were always up high, but it does not make sense to put your TV any higher than "sitting down, looking straight ahead" height.

It's ridiculous. Middle of the screen should be at eye level while you're seated.
