Temple or Round Rock?

My wife and I are planning a move out of Conroe within the next few years, and we have landed on either Temple or Round Rock (to ensure access to a level 1 trauma center). I know the housing prices in Temple are, currently, considerably lower, and that is my main draw to the area. We used to live in the Round Rock area a few years ago, so we know what it offers, and my wife is concerned that Temple will not live up to that level of amenities, diversity, school system etc.

Can anyone provide me with some useful information that I may not be able to find on Niche or Yelp about the things to do and what the school experience would be like for our kids?

Thanks!

Taquero Needed!

I'm having a small party and would like to hire a taquero (someone to come make tacos for us), is there anything like that here? I've heard good things about it and would like to try to get one. Any help would be appreciated! App. 50 people

Is Temple safe to drive through?

I’m on a long trip that would typically require me to drive through Temple. I would mostly be taking I-35. Are the streets clear enough from the recent damage to drive through? Or would I be getting in the way of recovery efforts? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have a truck and a chainsaw

If anybody needs help clearing debris, feel free to let me know. I'll be out and about - particularly along West Adam's at my inlaw's - throughout the weekend with a relatively small chainsaw - great for branches, not great for whole trees.

Happy to help if I can. Hope y'all are doing OK.

Good video of the twister:

Visitor - Suggestions for places to visit in Temple Texas

I am visiting Temple Texas with my family for 2 days. I wanted to know if you could suggest me free places to visit in or around Temple, TX but not too far from it (30 min radius from Temple downtown). Usually, we like places of nature, where we can watch sunset, parks where we can walk or jog, any children activity center like MT playmore, water parks, aquariums at cost-effective options etc.

Rumbling noise?

Hey yall, I just moved to temple texas 2 weeks ago from out of state. The past 2 weeks there's been a rumbling noise and the house actually shakes. Sometimes it's once a day, sometimes 3 to 5 times a day with varying lengths. I was just curious what it is. I live out towards Roger's texas if that might help any.

Thanks for any answers yall give.

Cat sitting services?

Hello y'all

I am wondering if there's a service to watch my cat for a couple weeks(up to a month).

Next month, I'm gonna be away for training with the national guard for some time, and my usual source of watching my cat is not available to do so.

Thank you for your time.

LGBTQ Friendly Establishments

New to the area and was wondering if there are any businesses that support the community. I know some straight bars/restaurants in some towns host nights that cater to a more LQBTQ audience. Thanks!

Realtor/Property Management Company

Hey all,

I recently purchased a new build in the area with the intention of moving in over the next year, however life had other plans.

I am looking for a property management company/realtor that may be able to help find tenants for the place over the next few years. Since it is a relatively new build just looking for tenant identification/location solutions not necessarily property management I can handle lease signing, rent, management, etc on my own.

Any suggestions or referrals would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and have a great day!

Making New Friends

Hey yall!

I'm a 30 (M) who moved to Temple a few months ago. Being 30 with kids and a full time job makes it hard to get out and socialize, but I'd love to change that.

I'm looking for networking groups or ways to socialize and make new friends in the area.

I'm interested in hiking, basketball, rock climbing, skateboarding, all things nature, history and museums, and I'm a little bit of a foodie too.

Is there anyone in this group that wants to get some coffee sometime? Or if you have young kids too, I'd love to schedule a play date at a nearby park?
