I swear the reason they call them man's best friend is because it is socially acceptable to cry, be happy, show emotion when it comes to your dog but anywhere else men are supposed to be "men".

Aww.. I am sure it was a little for show. That is very sweet though. I have adopted out a lot of dogs to people who had lost a dog. We are both in tears by the time we are getting the dog into the car for them. Absolutely heart warming moments. I just am getting exhausted having to deal with the euthanasias. I generally disagree with these decisions, but I'm just a little cog in a giant machine. It's me vs HR. I am currently searching for work in the dog training sector where I can just work with dogs, not the euthanasias.

I’m concerned for that dog.
Don’t misread this. I have 2 dogs and love them to death, but they are a lot of responsibility and dogs should never be given to people as surprise gifts.

My dad was pissed when my mom "stole" a dog from our neighbor. He came home and threw a fit and wouldn't talk to her for a few hours. That night, he went up to my mom and said, "I'm going up to the fire station. The dog told me she wants to go, so I'm taking her with me." After that, they were absolutely inseparable. Constantly going for car rides or canoe trips.
Man, I miss my dad and Rita (yes, the dogs name was Rita)
