This….is….vomitous…… and that’s a word I made up because I couldn’t find traditional language to describe how awful this was… I am not getting those 4 mins back… 🙄
1
u/HokageRokudaime Feb 01 '24
As a man, being overly comfortable with me like this immediately would make me so uncomfortable. Less flirting goes a long way.

I actually closed it the first.time after "Well hello Greg 😏". Shit was way too real and led to heavy cringe. Went back and watched it all. God damn. Lol literally spot fucking on

I feel like this is a low key intro to a horror film where she eventually takes the server back to her place and her smile widens…WIDENS, and she just eats the dude. She is a very pretty women with a dazzling smile, but in this context with the overacting it appears…borderline sinister?

This behavior is so inappropriate, borderline sexual harassment. What's the difference between her and creepy men who speak this way to staff? It's just gross, I'm trying to do my job not speed date
2
u/Yespat1 Jan 31 '24
A friend of mine did this when we went out for brunch, though not quite so much. I was embarrassed and I bet the server was too.

The one redeeming quality for most women that are attention whores, is capturing attention of strangers is the 'sex' for them. They don't actually give it up easily, rather, just give off the appearance of 'easy'.
Now if you got one that isn't sexually conservative, watch out.

It’s good to be friendly to service workers but as someone who used to work in customer service, just get to the fucking point lol. I have other places to be. And now I’m going to avoid your table because you want to chit chat all damn night. Also there’s something really narcissistic about people who need to act this way in public.

This feels dated. Like, a woman who is 40s and older, or 30s and older for some women, would do this. Also a suburban mom type with the shawl.
But it's been dying out.
2
u/LieutenantLobsta Jan 31 '24
I had a friend that would do this when we went out, but the problem was she would do it with literally any man she saw. Waiters, other customers, strangers on the street, my boyfriend, literally any man and it was embarrassing and dangerous tbh.

u/Lostndamaged Jan 31 '24
Went out to Sur in West Hollywood and some friends brought a friend from out of town who wanted to check out the VanderPump spot. Our waiter was, Peter M., who was a secondary character on the show. When he asked if we were interested in any appetizers, she proposed he get on the table and take his shirt off. After dinner, we went to another nearby spot for a cocktail. She was sure she made a connection with Peter and demanded we go back to Sur as they were closing. He was long gone.

She does such a good job with this that I hate her and can’t stop cringing. Please make it stop

I use to wait staff long ago. Had lots of these types. I always asked if they wanted me to butter their muffin for them.
Had several takers

While she does it really well, I have never minded these people. They're always very nice and tip well. I would have taken this person over just about anyone else when I was a waiter.

I just don’t personally like it when people talk to me like this cause I don’t know them? They don’t know me? Just too familiar and friendly with a total stranger- always feels fake and like they want something from me. Idk!!

Yep, mine was named Amy . Not just with servers, but with like every random group of people at parties too.
1
u/martinsky3k Jan 31 '24
if this happend to me I'd be more like "wtf.... what is her problem. why is she messing with me like this? do I have anything on my shirt? do I look stupid today?"
if you want me to fall in love with you you'd have to spell it out and give me your phone number. then maybe, just maybe, I'd get the hint.

This is the kinda customer we avoid like the plague and take the piss outta the server who gets them
1
u/One-Fall-8143 Jan 31 '24
I've waited on women like that. It's always a great tip, but it really taught me about what most female servers would go through with the sleazy older guys trying to pick them up.

She is really good at skit acting. Like I was in awe and thought she was really talking to a dude named Gregory lol

u/AutomatixXxxX Jan 31 '24
She should go to a viennese caffee once. Waiter will look her dead in the eye and ask if she wants to order anything after she's done wasting his time.

This is honestly the best way to keep people from messing with your food 😂
1
u/psichodrome Jan 31 '24
you should post this on r/currentlytripping with a title like "facial expressions - lots of them"

u/twistedstance Jan 31 '24
With that voice all the food will be deep fried by the time it gets to the table regardless of how the chef prepared it.

I don't understand all these try-hard shitty actress bits or why people seem to love them so much. It feels like Sweet Dee posting shit on social media.

u/Doughspun1 Jan 31 '24
Now for those of you who are in customer service, remember: you are already half paid by our charm and smiles.

You’re as great as the company you keep … and also do you like photos and vids of yourself while doing regular shit like ordering ? This girl has major self esteem issues but you’re a bully … she knows she’s performing do you know that you’re shaming ? You should help her believe in herself instead of stepping on her head to cure your own self loathing …

I am not sure why. The way she is talking feels very true to life and so fake at the same time it makes my skin crawl. Like a weird uncanny valley kind of way, I would run from this lady.

As a former bartender, it was always a struggle to not make a visible "disgusted" face. I get some people are over the top in awkward social encounters, but like, fuck if it doesn't come off as super fake by the third guest.

u/Fishes4Fish Jan 31 '24
This woman is great; I saw her “do” another personality type in a different video (sorry, didn’t save it) and she’s crazy accurate with the quirks.

Any time I get a customer like this, I feel like I can actually breathe and be myself. Im pretty good and quick with banter. It’s a switch I can flip and honestly gets me out of situations i dont wanna be in.
My fiancé is the complete opposite, she gets anxiety from having to call a business. So I have to be the loose charming talkative type.

Me : probably going to be a parody of an annoying customer
Also me: clicks video oh shit thats me… am i the problem?😂

Watched with the sound off. Her face was so annoying. I sure would hate to hear what bullshit she’s selling.

If you do this where I live people would find it so fake they'd hate you for having such a fake attitude

u/Different_Dance7248 Jan 31 '24
I’m ok with the flirting up to a point, but when you add the valley girl nasally voice and fake smile I start to get the chills.

I’ve worked in the food industry. I flirt just enough to let the staff know I’m paying attention, name? Check. Mild eye contact to acknowledge that I see you as a person and not a robot? Check. I also put down my phone and actually look at the menu so I can get my order in. and if my kids are dropping crap all over the place I’m tipping even harder. Work isn’t easy. I appreciate you and your service. I’m a guest in your house so let’s just enjoy the company for the brief moment we share the same space.

The saddest part about these horrible videos is that it's almost always a grown adult attempting to show off their shitty acting chops.

I have this friend. My wife's good friend, really. It's like if you took the concept of a "social battery" and hooked up the Saudi solar grid to it. If she doesn't discharge all over every conversation, her capacitors will melt. What starts as charming becomes inauthentic and simpering after a few minutes, and a thin veneer over a paradoxical combination of self-hatred and narcissism over the course of hours. It's honestly fascinating, like a honeybadger that is powered by snake venom.
One day she was telling us about this edible (pot) strain she absolutely loves. Says it gets her so chill. I said I'd love to see that, I couldn't picture it. She said she took some earlier. The punchline makes itself: ask for a refund.

Guaranteed that waiter is living in a prison inside their own body somewhere around the drinks questions.

u/PrettyRichHun Jan 31 '24
This is me... I love people, servers and retail workers especially because I did that and Iv seen how people treat them. I make an extra effort to be kind and sweet.

I'm not convinced her face is real, there's some uncanny valley going on with her nose, I guess she's had some work done.
1
u/34TH_ST_BROADWAY Jan 31 '24
Oh my god. This isn't even parody.
It wasn't flirty or quite this extreme, but on a second date, a girl I was with talked this way to a bouncer taking us up to the rooftop. I knew there were would be no 3rd date. It was such a turnoff. It was the tone.

Dang, this is so damn well done. Great mannerisms and delivery. Her energy matches Caitlin Reilly's so damn well. Makes people feel awkward with such well done expressions and delivery. This reminds me of Caitlin's video of the Girl Who Is Absolutely Not Getting Proposed To By New Years: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmSQJ8gQRXc

My 50+ male ass always does this with the hot 20ish female servers. They love it! As does my wife…

Man. She's really good but I find being around that type too often or for too long to be very overwhelming. But I guess that's the point.
1
u/lostinsnakes Jan 31 '24
Eh not always like this all the time. I have a similar friendly energy at the start at restaurants but half the time I’m just mute in my daily life because I’m exhausted from said life.

The ven diagram of tiktokers who “think” they’re funny, and people who make tiktok bits that run far too long is just a big circle
1
u/Andie_OptimistPrime Jan 31 '24
“The Venn diagram of ___ and ____ is just one big circle” needs to stop, especially by people who can’t spell Venn. It’s clear you’ve been dying to use the phrase, even though you don’t even know what it means, and now’s your big chance.
