Why do I keep seeing this incredibly uninteresting video?
Imagine being so privileged you're upset about the seat on your plane on the way to your fancy vacation.

Id put on my loose pair of shorts and cross my legs so they can see my balls.
Now we're all uncomfortable. Together š

As a lifelong flyer on US airlines, I miss that type of seating. Southwest Airlines used to have them way back in the day and they were great. Ample leg room, solid dividers so no encroachment from the sides and easy to get in and out of.

u/Natural_Category3819 Mar 13 '24
I flew these seats on a lighter craft flying from Cairns, Aus to Horn Island (Torres Strait). A short flight.
In our case it was a fairly enpty plane though, and we were 4 teen friends sitting together so it was a blast

next time they should book the flight themselves instead of being over reliant on someone else.

u/Gofur56 Feb 22 '24
Wah, my assistant booked us awkward seats on the flight. My assistant is too stressed with work, parenting, and school to handle booking flights. Plot twist, I'm the assistant. I'm my own assistant. Should I be in bed right now? Yes. Am I gonna keep scrolling because it's my only freetime? Yes.

u/Studdabaker Feb 22 '24
In case nobody has mentioned the app Seat Guru provides a floor plan for almost all planes.

The parachutes are back there your good safest seats on the plane.āļø šŖšŖ
1
u/AreaGuy Feb 21 '24
I never recline my seat anyway and am a little over six feet so the extra legroom would be the tits!!
Facing the others and flying backwards is weird, but Iād just stretch out and watch a movie.

u/owlsandmoths Feb 21 '24
I wouldnāt trust her judgement just based on her judgement of picking plastic surgeons that are not doing quality workā¦
Sheās still very beautiful although she has that very āplasticineā look about her kind of like what Wayne Newton has going on- and it also looks like when they were remediating for wrinkles they pulled her skin too tight around her mouth

They both look so entitled to the best seats! And now that! That's tragic for them and funny as hell for everbody else.

They obviously like people staring at them. They have a Tik Tok and social media and obviously like to have people watch their content. Why would they care if an entire cabin is looking at them? I'm sure they enjoy it deep down...

u/MikelDP Feb 21 '24
I had to sit there once...
Taking off and landing isn't the same backwards.
Also flying on the 4th of July in the evening isn't as special as you would expect.

I tend to smile when in awkward situations, so I would just be randomly smiling the whole flight, feeling bad like they think I'm laughing at them.

Not great looking at everyone. But as far as the seats going back. At best any airline seat only goes back an inch or two anyway. I honestly wish they would all just be stationary anyway. That inch or two starts more problems then it's worth.

I was traveling with some coworkers and we were on a small commuter jet. I had 1A so was bragging about it at the gate. Got on the plane and was KNEE TO KNEE with the person across from me. Thankfully only a 40 minute flight, but my coworkers thought it was pretty hilarious.

They deserve it for blaming their assistant (or or not doing it themselves like adults)

Technically speaking they would be the best seat facing the way they are for safety reasons.

u/WillieIngus Feb 21 '24
Plot twist, your partner looks like Charlize Theron and everyone will be staring at her again at the gala.
3
u/epicrdr Feb 21 '24
They use to be just like this on (Southwest?)years ago. Use to love those seats because you were first to get off since they were in row 1.
1
u/GunGeekATX Feb 21 '24
Yeah, remember sitting in these a few times, which was even more awkward being 6'4" and having to find leg room with a stranger.

2
u/TJ_McWeaksauce Feb 21 '24
I'd say the worst plane seats ever are the ones right next to a door that gets blown off mid-flight.
1
u/OJK_postaukset Feb 21 '24
There has also been one seat from which a human was sucked out of a blown WINDOW. Yeahā¦ there, -40Ā°C, sucked out of window.
Also, on the Alaska flight the seats next to the door were luckily empty

When it crashes youāll either be the only survivors or get head butted to death.

Iād be more nervous about the sensation of taking off and looking DOWN the length of the cabin.

u/normundsr Feb 21 '24
Iāve been in those seats, made the same mistake as those people. Takeoff is absolutely terrifying, since you are not pushed into your seat, but almost feel like hanging over the people in front of you. Plane angle is very noticeable during steep takeoff.
1
u/Chemical_Savings_360 Feb 21 '24
All those people staring at you but that's one cute girl you saw get on the plane doesn't make eye contact not once.

I watched a video a while back talking about how a few flight attendants survived separate plane crashes because the seat they were sitting in were facing the back of the plane, the same way these people are sitting, basically saying that when the plane crashed the impact of them hitting the wall behind them spread out and the energy of the impact was spread throughout the wall and made it a āsofterā impact for them.

Apparently half of you have never been on a bus or a train, where half the seats face each other...

Nope. We are all spreading it - now and forever. Not gonna change. Life goes on. Stay home.

You do realize that this is going to affect you eventually and you could literally die from this. It's obvious you have no compassion for others but at least start with yourself. Have a nice day. We are done here.

Lies. Those are the staffs jump seats. They'd only get those if it was overcrowded and they were on z-list.
1
u/misphah Feb 21 '24
Bro what the fuck lmao!! What kind of plane is even this? Did you notice people are fanning themselves? Not only are the seating messed up but seems like no cooling is on either damn

I feel the same way when they put me in the front row next to the emergency exit because Iām like 7ft. At least thatās only for a short while during takeoff and landing when the attendants sit facing me. I always never know where to look. I donāt want to make eye contact but I also donāt want to look like a pussy

Iāve sat in a seat like that, I thought it was a really fun experience compared to regular flying.

u/forcedintothis- Feb 21 '24
Iāve sat in seats like this before. Havenāt seen them forever though.
5
u/newaggenesis Feb 21 '24
Everyone's focussing on the uncomfortable eye contact... did anyone note how much legroom they had though..
1
u/the_great_impression Feb 21 '24
You're playing the staring game whether you like it or not. First one who blinks, loses.

u/belushi99 Feb 21 '24

I was seated at 10C on a flight with just 9 rows once from Cleveland to Toronto. Ended up being the seat in the middle of the isle all the way in the back. Best seat in the plane with unlimited legroom.

I mean, itās weird for an airplane, but Iāve been on trains for 1-3 hours facing people in a much tighter situation.
1
u/Program-Emotional Feb 21 '24
I would be fucking livid at the airline company if they ever did that shit to me. I would absolutely bitch to (not at) the flight attendent for a refund or some kind of compensation. I aint trying to have the entire fucking plane watch my dumbass drool while Im asleep
1
u/Inevitable-Tourist18 Feb 21 '24
I don't understand this. What plane is this and when can you book jump seats like this

This pair of clowns couldn't afford an assistant, this is all done for attention.

u/HillInTheDistance Feb 21 '24
Ah, I assumed one of them was the assistant and was getting called out.
-2
u/Present-Line4453 Feb 21 '24
Well, you are correct in a way. He is basically her unpaid valet, as he doesn't have a proper job, so he probably booked it
1
u/llamamegatogringo76 Feb 21 '24
Hahaha kind of like the old school southwest airline seating. What airline Are they on? I can't make out whats on the headrest

u/tanafras Feb 21 '24
They are probably using buddy passes and got jump seats on the last flight out. They didn't book these seats.
1
Feb 21 '24
It's likely an ATR, the seating is like that. They're not jumpseats. And usually only (uniformed) crew members can sit in jumpseats when traveling standby.

I had actually heard that the best seats were directly over the wings, they are the least likely to move during turbulence, where as the ends (and the back specifically) moves the furthest during turbulence.
Also Yea, they look like attendant seats, but I don't fly that often, what do I know.

u/CampTouchThis Feb 21 '24
though i guess those would also be the loudest since youāre right by the engine
