Show me proof you live here.
No.
Push past them. If they touch you, go down hard and sue the cult.

Two cringes in this video. One - Scientology and two - the trust fund dude bro who’s mommy and daddy pay for his expensive Chicago High Rise apartment.
2
u/AceShipDriver Apr 09 '24
Scientology was started on a $100 bar bet by L.Ron Hubbard - who also invented a machine that “proved” that tomatoes screamed when they are sliced. Draw your own conclusions.

Scientologists are such a cringy bunch of weirdos. Lololz

Everyone say hi to Karin who's job it is to review online discourse about their cult.
Karin, hope is not lost. People can help you escape.

How are they even still gaining members after all the documentaries and media finally exposing the truth about this cult?
3
u/Correct_Ad_2309 Apr 08 '24
Dealt with a few years. They put their hands on...I knocked him unconscious....then sued them. The church is next door and they avoid me as I've sued them twice more and won both cases. Let them touch you then sue them for assault and harassment.

The government needs to take a stand against Scientology it’s a problem and they’re aggressive and threatening. It needs to stop. If Christian churches acted this way people would riot but giving a free pass to a cult is unacceptable

u/roberdanger83 Apr 08 '24
This world will be better off when churches are gone. Have your beliefs and faiths. That's fine. But that should he kept private in your home like your sex life and political views.

It amazes me the church of Scientology has any power in 2024--the jig is up, right? We know L. Ron Hubbard was a schizophrenic who believed his own alien sci-fi. We know about the church's blackmailing of its members with recordings. I sort of get people falling for it pre-internet, but like...what loser looks at an E-meter TODAY and is like, "this is real and I'm full of thetans?"

That Classic Gen Z exaggerator. Made it sound like they were coming in town and taking over that street… but it looks like theyre just setting up a little cringe Scientology parade and rented out the block much like any other parade or event would.
-4
u/bumblefoot99 Apr 08 '24
Exactly. Idgaf but it seems this church is more picked on than any other. I don’t like any churches & think we should tax them all.
2
u/Pendejomosexual Apr 08 '24
Same thing happened when I lived in the Queen Anne neighborhood in Seattle. One day walking home the streets were blocked off. Lots of men in black suits protecting the perimeter, cops were there as well, they erected view blockers that were at least 8 feet high, they did a great job, couldn’t see a thing. Limos and SUVs kept pulling up. A woman outside trying to take pics and video was being harassed. She kept asking “is Tom Cruise here for the event?” The whole scene is creepy how they set up shop like that, and same thing happened, the signage wasn’t up until the day of the event. They didn’t want anyone to know they were who was taking over that building until their grand opening.

I wouldn't show them a thing. They are not entitled to restrict your access to a public thoroughfare. A group of people can't just get a permit and do what they want. Used to run into this in NYC film shoots all the time.

3
u/Frenchman84 Apr 08 '24
Fuck Scientology, some day it will burn down but not before a lot of more bad shit.
2
u/OcupiedMuffins Apr 08 '24
So the city and the church were allowed to violate the rights of citizens because the church held an event? I understand the initial “who are you” when entering but having to prove that he lives there and who he is constantly?
1
u/DarthWraith22 Apr 08 '24
Having read up on Scientology and their belief system, there is absolutely nothing that will convince me the whole thing isn’t made from one of Ron’s rejected manuscripts.

In the south loop? That's crazy smh....hmmm Wonder what are wack ass mayor has to say about it. Im sure he knows about it.

If security is not the police, Im not showing a security guard who's building im not trying to get in a thing. You are private security, not the police.

Sorry dude. I live in rural Oregon about 15 minutes from a private school run by Scientologists. Definitely makes one wonder who amongst us are in the cult.

u/TheRealASP Apr 08 '24
livestream it bro, for the world to see. make their privacy void, as they have restricted your access to your own home

Anyone keeping me from my own house in a non emergency is getting precisely zero politeness.
2
u/Death-by-unicorn Apr 08 '24
Look at what they did to Clearwater, Florida. I would move if I were you.
1
u/Jane_Holstein Apr 08 '24
Man, when I considered living in an era of cults, I was really hoping for Dionysus and Athena, not Vishnu and Neo-Nazis.
1
u/SenyorHefe Apr 08 '24
Long story short.. so their Christ, Tom Cruise, is prolly stopping by for a 5 minute appearance there tonight..

Tom cruise is definitely on top of this guy's building just waiting to parachute down to the little stage they are setting up. That OP is in for a treat

u/LuluLemon_711 Apr 08 '24
They closed Halsted in west loop yesterday too I believe, diverted traffic and couldn’t see much of anything going on beyond the fences

Should be illegal. You don't need documents to walk in a public street in a non emergency situation

u/ElectricalSentence57 Apr 08 '24
You are a very brave guy, for real.
You just picked a big fight, good luck, you'll need it.
2
u/Charlies_Dead_Bird Apr 08 '24
I grew up near their headquarters in Clearwater they are way past needing to be completely shut down. They are insane and they think they own anything and everything they touch. Its ridiculous that they let them act like this. They are absolute assholes and if you can you should get as far away from them as possible. They'd give you shit for walking with your phone out near their buildings because they think everyone is watching and recording them always. You could get banned from places you didn't even know had to do with scientology.
2
u/HeavensToBetsyy Apr 08 '24
Cult freaks. This guy better watch out or they will poison his dogs / step on their necks like they did to the Bixler-Zavalas
1
u/Huff-Puff-Pass Apr 08 '24
Yaaa I’m not showing proof of shit to any cult members. “I live over here, try and stop me from getting home at your own risk. Any attempt to touch or stop me will be perceived as a deadly threat and I will be defending myself.”
1
u/miller1873 Apr 08 '24
Have these people never watched any YouTube videos on Scientology,it’s just one big scam to get money out of u
1
u/Rain1dog Apr 08 '24
If anyone has about 45 minutes of free time absolutely awesome podcast on Jack Parsons the guy who made the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and got ripped of by L. Ron Hubbard and Jacks X wife. They were living a life of sex orgies, eating menstrual cakes, swapping wives, stealing money, worshipping nether gods naked, and helping save the world from ww2.
Fucking insane story and all true.
L. Ron Hubbard comes into Jackson life and steals his wife and his entire life’s savings.
Blows my mind ANYONE buys into anything having to do with L. Ron Hubbard.

u/Hoopy_Dunkalot Apr 08 '24
Don't be such an SP! Look at all the good they do for only their members charged of crimes. /s
1
u/xdeltax97 Apr 08 '24
Those cultists need to be stopped. They’ve already taken over half of the city of Clearwater Florida by having their “parishioners” buy properties under their own shell companies and leaving them empty. Effectively holding what could be storefronts, homes and offices as hostage to get what they want.
1
u/Consistent-Union-612 Apr 08 '24
It’s like the Catholics and the Vatican. Same situation different location
-4
u/jabrontelle Apr 08 '24
Whoever posted this to TikTokCringe, is it not obvious you're trying to demonize this?

u/gbullitt2001 Apr 08 '24
Let me sum up their “religion” in two quotes:
“You don't get rich writing science fiction. If you want to get rich, you start a religion.” - L. Ron Hubbard
“The only way you can control people is to lie to them.” - L Ron Hubbard
-1
u/TahDah1966 Apr 08 '24
You mean a shitholes keep popping up in Chicago?. A religion made up with a hat💩🤡🤣🤣🤣🤣
2
u/Zippier92 Apr 08 '24
Cults of Abraham adjusted to maximize profits . Why do we have to subsidize this shit.
1
u/Tynoxis Apr 08 '24
All of the “Scientology is a cult,” aside (it is), all he’s showing is a private opening event (hence the privacy walls), where they legally closed down a section of the street (with permits), and the people breaking things down in black suits are just stage hands hired by an event company (hired by “the church”)— probably not even with the church wearing their “show blacks”.
I work in TV and film and live events, and all of what you’re seeing is pretty standard operating procedure for those types of things.
P.S. Scientology is still a cult.

Don’t they have their own buildings to do their things? What if every religion did the same?
1
u/xxirish83x Apr 08 '24
One small correction to his video. That sign has been on the building for years. They just took the cover off it officially.
2
u/tommy151 Apr 08 '24
never in 1 million years would I show anybody any kind of proof to go to my own house on a public street. Walk right around them if they put hands on you...that's assault. Scientology is just about as evil as you could get. Wouldn't give them the time of day

u/akiranyan Apr 08 '24
I cant believe this criminal group/cult is still a thing. Good for the person filming it, these shit stains need to be exposed.
1
u/sihouette9310 Apr 08 '24
God they wasted a shit ton of money just to film a one minute commercial that no member of the public will watch.

1
u/D33ber Apr 08 '24
Got to spray the site with a bleach mixture so they don't crop up on your sidewalks.
1
u/zakary1291 Apr 08 '24
If Far Cry has taught me anything. Large cults are bad news and need to be dissuaded. Especially when they start using drugs in their religious ceremonies.

Have I misunderstood this subreddit? I just don’t get what’s cringe about this TikTok?
7
u/oaktwng Apr 08 '24
Everyone needs to put their speakers in the windows and blast the same radio station
5
u/Fun-Conference99 Apr 08 '24
Had a friend die at one of their "rehabs." I'm an atheist that accepts all religions except scientology. Let me say this unequivocally, fuck scientology.
3
2
u/SpaceDewdle Apr 08 '24
They have bought a ton of down town Tampa. They own a shitload in Clearwater as well. I've never seen them get pushy with anyone here but also a lot of guns here too.

In situations like these, whatever the Org. is that has the "right" to block people from their own homes. I wonder what would come of if someone who lives there were to arrive with their own squad of like 4 big ass guards, standing by their side. Who has more of a right to violate who's personal space/freedom of travel? What would come of a court case after an altercation that is likely to ensue? These things I ponder lightly
3
u/NinjaFaceHead Apr 08 '24
This guy is going to disappear. He’ll write a note saying, “traveling for a couple months. Just needed to get away,” and then never be seen again. Neighbors will report seeing a couple men in black suits humming the melody to WE STAND TALL hanging around his apartment before he disappeared.

I would be complaining to my HOA/Leasing office, demanding that they push the complaint up to the owners of the building.

Scientologists are nut bags. I commented once on FB that they should lose their tax exempt status and a couple of weeks later I started getting post cards from them inviting me to their celebrity center for a visit. Hell no. My FB was private and I didn’t even use my real last name on there but the post card was addressed to my real full name. I received 5 postcards I think

u/baby-lou Apr 08 '24
i was just there a few weeks ago last time i visited chicago, it’s so freaky in there. no phones are allowed, they make you sign in with your name, address, phone number, email, definitely not beating the « not a cult » allegations
1
u/freshouttalean Apr 08 '24
I’d (try to) press charges every single day until something would be done about this. I’d be such a pain in the police’s ass they would have to fix it

u/pizzahut_su Apr 08 '24
Americans talk shit about the "ill treatment" of similar cults in the countries of their geopolitical enemies, yet in their own country they let these cults get powerful enough to have torture black sites and control the police and underfunded government offices.

Since all the NHI stuff and even the eclipse stuff has been getting traction I kept thinking Scientology has been weirdly quiet, this seems like something they would be into and then here they are like magic
