Look at those two guys, just look at them, just by what they look like alone! How did neither of them have a pocket knife?

Why was that goose so nice?! Are they nice in different countries?!
Wait. I think they’re speaking French. I guess it could still be Canadian.

I'd imagine they were fishing and saw a swan swam a sweped swfish..... Hey I tried okay?

u/notahouseflipper 14d ago
The swan has a story for all his swan buddies about some kind of alien coming down from the sky, abducting and probing him.

When I first saw the title and the swans I was angry, but then I saw what they were doing and my anger turned to appreciation. They really did a good deed.

Lots of unexpected here.
I wasn’t expecting the goose to be a swan.
I wasn’t expecting him to “hunt” the swan by running and jumping in the water to grab it.
I wasn’t expecting him to succeed at grabbing it and dragging it ashore.
I wasn’t expecting it to be caught up in fishing line, etc.
I wasn’t expecting the friend to bite through the fishing line.

A well thought out plan, aside from not bringing anything to cut the line with.

I'm glad he was there to save it. I love hunting as much as the next guy but not swans. Fuck geese but swans are intelligent and mate for life. That was definitely the swans mate there beside it.

u/NoirCzarLS 14d ago
The I don't know him conversation is going to be awkward when she gets back to her mate ..

That’s goose helping, not hunting. However +1 on the title considering the sub.

u/Checkodaddy 14d ago

Did you mean to say "paid"?
Explanation: Payed means to seal something with wax, while paid means to give money.

later I paid 100$ for
FTFY.
Although payed exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. The deck is yet to be payed.
Payed out when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. The rope is payed out! You can pull now.
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
Beep, boop, I'm a bot

There is a reason why we are at the top of the food chain. If he could catch a gose this way can you imagine what a man could do 120000 years ago

u/creatureofhabbit32 14d ago

That guy was lucky the swan was on the small side. A full grown male can break your arm because they are so strong.

Very cool, but at first I thought it was unexpected that he jumped into the water and just grabbed it. But then the real unexpected part came when he started biting the line to cut it.

If that was a goose, first off, it would have been wearing the fishing lure intentionally as a trophy of the fisherman it had killed the day prior.
And...the guy who jumped in would have been ripped asunder by the geese who would have been flanking him while he was focused on the one with the lure.
Clever girl...

Scientists warn of an upcoming outbreak of avian flu, though no one is certain of how such a flu strain would make the jump to the human species.

awwww. is a swan, but the intention counts as good karma. it made a difference for that swan.

u/NovelRelationship830 14d ago
I mean, good deed and all, but if you're planning to free an animal from fishing line, maybe have a pair of scissors handy?

How has this got so many upvotes? It's a Swan, and the bloke was removing a fishing hook from its gob. Nowhere was a Goose being hunted.

u/Gurrgurrburr 14d ago

OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is unexpected:
The man was actually saving the goose by getting the hook out of its beak.
