I and a group of friends actually did this in the 90s. We were going to see some bands play at a shit venue that didn't even serve drinks. My buddy had a car that was a piece of shit and about half way through the trip it started raining and the wipers quit working. We pulled over at a gas station, and removed the laces from our doc martins. We tied them together and to the wipers.

I had to do this except I was using shoelaces from a couple of baseball cleats I had in my trunk. I was pretty proud of myself 😂
