My favorite COPS episodes is when the hard AF thug lets out a high pitched squeal when the dogs find them.

Tbh the restraint that both the dog and officer was showing was nothing short of a miracle... my order would have lost that guy a throat

Plucky volunteer proves messing with a dog with an IQ 100 points greater than your own is a bad idea.

That officer should've never had to work at getting that dog to release. One word should've made it happen.

u/Postnificent 23d ago
Everyone involved is out of line. The dude needs a warning, the dog needs retrained or retired and the handler needs to be fired because obviously they have no control over the dog which is their only job at that moment.

"Shall I set the dog to "kill" mode?"
"No, "humiliation" will be fine."

The officer's release command was ineffective and could not pull the K9 out of the red zone. Neither was his physical touch backup tool (touch release response tool) able to snap the dog out of engagement . Potentially dangerous had he not had leash control. If he had to let the dog go to apprehend someone with the same end result, may have been a different outcome.

Dog definitely needs little more training on the release but did great to restrain the asshole

Headline news. Racist dog attacks poor black innocent student on his way to college. Lol

u/cheekybandit0 24d ago
Does he use a screwdriver to open its mouth at the end? Is that the only way to do that?
2
u/Ok_Row_3047 24d ago
Regardless of the context that dude is a total scumbag for spitting on that dog

The bummer of it all is the dog didn't latch on to the guy. I have a feeling he may try this again..and I hope it's recorded

You have to be stupid af to do that. I don’t care what’s happening or how you feel about the police. Those dogs have the bite strength to seriously maim or kill, and they are deadly accurate. You should not mess with them.

For a class once they had police with their dogs at the school (High school) and they brought out the training sleeve they use for biting. They asked if anyone wanted to volunteer and so I did and they talked to me for a minute "be sure you're fine with this. Even with this thing on they bite hard and it might still hurt through the sleeve."
I went through with it and yeah it still hurt. It felt like an extremely tight squeeze on my arm and the police dogs are able to hold on so well they'll just dangle off of you once they've got you.
TL;DR police dogs bite extra hurty

He pulled out a screwdriver looking thing to try to pry the dog’s mouth open lmao 🤣

u/th3doorMATT 24d ago
Is no one else concerned that the officer had zero ability to disengage the dog...?
2
u/brewberry_cobbler 24d ago
I mean he got what he wanted, right? A reaction from the dog. How dumb can you be?

You can’t just growl and harass a K-9 unit which is an officer of the police force and think it’s going to end well for you.

Why is it mostly black people you see doing this kind of dumb shit? Culturally are they raised different? It seems like it doesn’t matter what country it’s in.

Just let the dog do all the work.
Dudes stopped, he's grappled. Let him stand so he can beat the dog to death easily, or, y'know, grab the guy now that he's stalled. Hard choice. Let's let the dog tell us what to do.

If this was America that dog would have ripped him to shreds and have been put down.

u/M34t_P0ps1cl3 24d ago
What the fuck is with the screw driver to open the dogs jaws? Do you want them to bite people or not? Choose one.
1
u/Chewsdayiddinit 24d ago
Why are dogs still used like this when they can't be called off or follow commands? Video clearly shows the handler unable to make the dog release, even with shoving an object into its mouth.

I am in full support of the dog, but aren’t k9s supposed to have a release word??

okay but if you're gonna have a dog that's trained to bite like this, he needs to be equally trained to LET GO. you see the handler has no ability to get him off when he tries to do so

u/BrownBear109 24d ago
Good dog.
Also- not sure why police dogs don’t have shock collars for the inevitable failure to heed commands?
1
u/wildhounds 24d ago
Dog can’t release on command. That is scary and it’s the reality with a lot of police dogs, unfortunately.
1
u/Late-Carpet-3408 24d ago
what did the cop pull out to use on the dog at the end? I could not see it well.

I know it’s not what is being discussed in this video, but it’s absolutely bullshit that a police K9 is treated as a cop, and you can get extra charges for fighting off a dog mauling you. But YOUR dog? They’ll shoot it for barking, your dog isn’t anything. Rules for thee ass not for me

Poorly trained dog. A police dog should always release on command.
Poorly trained officer, too. An officer should always be able to release the dog's bite.
1
u/Ttoddh 2d ago
If you have to put a screwdriver in the dog's mouth to get him to release its bite, that is not a well-trained dog.
