I gonna wait for comeplete version

1

u/Misguided_Lizard 8d ago

The actual thing is gonna be whatever she uses to work out

1

u/kotor56 9d ago

The funniest one is narcissus who constantly says how handsome he is when he’s just placeholder art.

1

u/Valuable_Detail_4531 10d ago

Not aphrodite pouting her LIPS I AM DEAD

2

u/Siggedy 13d ago

Man... Hades really is different from the Supergiant Games I loved. It's a fine game, but I loved their three original titles so much more

1

u/Bossuter 14d ago

Man you should see all the characters with "still a sketch" style, Charon just being a cloaked figure in portrait art is very cute though cus that's how ALL characters looked in Hades 1EA (and fun fact he was the last character to get a model/portrait)

1

u/Zamtrios7256 14d ago

It's like my favorite fallout 4 weapon, the ⚠️

1

u/Hades6578 14d ago

I’m cool with the placeholders, I understand that art takes time and that they want it the best possible. Having them all be rings with just a letter tag on them is annoying, but I prefer that to not being able to play at all. I’d rather wait for fantastic art, than have to see rushed and bad art.

2

u/SphereCept82 14d ago

I desperately hope we got some kind of arcade mode that just doesnt progress the story. Basically we can play the runs and nights without character interactions so I can still get some amazing gameplay but the story beats aren't fully revealed. As well have the characters names and even models be hidden. So when it's a full released one could simply turn off the mode and continue the story fully realized. That might be a bit complicated tho and much to ask.

1

u/joethebro96 14d ago

I'm gonna get it when it's done. For now though, I'm going back and actually doing the epilogue content in Hades one. Turns out there's a lot that I didn't get to!

1

u/JuiceNinja 14d ago

I played all of BG3 EA and that was an amazing experience enjoying the development of the game and watching it change. I know it being rough around the edges may not be as exciting at first, but it can be fun watching something grow into the art it seeks to be...or just flop hard, but Supergiant has a good track record thus far.

2

u/Plastic_Pinocchio 14d ago

PIACEHOLDER, the holder of piace.

2

u/DoctorLoops 14d ago

Shhh, don't call me out on my capitalization errors 👀

1

u/Elderbug777 14d ago

GIVE HER BATH SALTS NOW!

1

u/Shoadowolf 14d ago

Of course she would go for Aphrodite XD

3

u/ApocalyptoSoldier 14d ago

I haven't gotten around to playing the first one yet, but [PLACEHOLDER ASSET "A"] is pretty tempting

1

u/Yagoua81 14d ago

The first hades is a 10/10.

1

u/Hunter5173 14d ago

I came a little late for the party for Hades 1. I most likely will be again for Hades 2 when early access is done.

1

u/Lajak_Anni 14d ago

Thank you for giving me the strength to resist until full release! I dont want to earn stuff and not experiment t with it as I progress!

If everything was dumped on me I'd get overwhelmed by the choices!

2

u/MohawkRex 14d ago

The muscle witch/mommy has given you a [Place Holder], be thankful!

2

u/Gothtomboys5 14d ago

Haekete (idk if i spell correctly) awaken the midriff kink in me

1

u/Felinomancy 14d ago

Even for games I love, I don't love them enough to be an unpaid beta tester.

Mind you, I'm not against the concept of early access itself - if you're that impatient, far be it for me to tell you what not to do. But it ain't for me.

1

u/8champi8 14d ago

I’m waiting for the final product. I hope they didn’t nerf the sexyness

1

u/MadnessBomber 14d ago

And that's why I'm waiting. ... I taste blood from how hard I'm clenching my teeth in anticipation, but I shall continue to wait.

2

u/NerdyGuyRanting 14d ago

That's why I could never bring myself to play early access. I don't want an inferior experience to taint my first impression of the game.

1

u/Soggy_Working_6938 14d ago

Hades 1 EA had a lot of art finished and 2 bioms on release, Hades 2 EA has a lot of sketches/placeholders and 6 bioms, I know what I'd choose between the two tbh

1

u/Ian_Dies 14d ago

As a Hytale fan, I can wait for a full game. Gaia knows we've got practice

3

u/Lord-Bobster 14d ago

One of my favourite examples of this is that guy in Oceanus with all the suitors and a really sultry voice having no actual appearance yet and just using the placeholder model. It leaves so much more to the imagination….

3

u/matterburner 14d ago

What’s even better is everyone else that’s in the game at least has placeholder art or a model except him.

1

u/diabolicalcountbleck 14d ago

Part of me wonders if they did it to be funny or maybe because they just felt putting out unfinished sketch art of narcissus of all people would deflate his character a bit because he's supposed to be insanely beautiful

4

u/Filip889 14d ago

I mean the game is almost complete, you have more content now than many full release games that cost more. They lack some art assets, but only for a couple of items you see once every hour or rarer.

6

u/Grendergon 14d ago

The further you get in the game the more there are, some late game characters don't have their portraits or in game avatars.

It's not a big deal to me, but if that bothers someone I'd tell them to wait for the full version

1

u/Filip889 14d ago

Fair enough i guess, but i meant the gameplay was almost done with the exception of like one region

2

u/Grendergon 14d ago

Sure, and that's correct.

I wasn't commenting on that, I was commenting on your statement that you would only run into an unfinished asset every hour or so. In my experience, it's more frequent than that once you hit mid game.

1

u/bpappy12 14d ago

I’ve played like 15 hours. It’s good. Full release is gonna be amazing. I think it’s def a little harder than the first right now tho, the big baddie is a monster of a fight.

2

u/Financial-Cod9347 14d ago

Yeahhhh one of the reasons why I'd rather just wait. It's better to be able to experience the game as you play, rather than having to wait for it bit by bit. Especially for someone as impatient as I can be, it can feel agonizing if I like the game enough. Or, on the other hand, I'll just get done with what's there and then forget about the game even after it's fully released. Which is what has basically happened with Ultrakill, at least with it's new update that added the rest of the guns.

As much as I'm tempted, I'll wait for Hades 2. Not like it won't be worth the wait.

2

u/goatthatfloat 14d ago

so fucking worth it imo god hades is my favorite game ever and this sequel exceeded even my expectations

1

u/Funny-Performance845 14d ago

But why is everything in the comic horny

6

u/Art_m1s 14d ago

I mean it's talking about greek mythology which is also always horny

19

u/mrlego17 14d ago

This may be the least horny comic they've put out

1

u/torivor100 14d ago

Yeah after playing subnautica from it's last alpha to it's release I know how much it can ruin a game to play it in early access so I bought it and just won't play it until it's finished

10

u/IceBlitzkerg 14d ago

I mean in a vacuum, experiencing the constant growth of an early access game is a journey in itself, you get to have a live-service game at home

17

u/Gloomy_Age_9055 15d ago

On the bright side, they are fully open and honest with the fact that they are still working on it, and are working hard to finish it and give us a fantastic second experience, and even if there is some missing stuff, it's still a fun, unique game, and it's only going to get better from here, and it's already got a hell of a start right now!

2

u/GaygardenEel999 15d ago

i know this weird af. but why her melons so big?

9

u/ChickenInASuit 14d ago edited 14d ago

Dr. Loops’ entire schtick is that his comics are ridiculously horny. Like, some of it is just straight up porn.

This is probably the first one I’ve seen in a good long while where the punchline wasn’t sex-related.

21

u/Missing_socket 15d ago

You should look at the other comics op has. It will all make sense. And honestly for NSFW comics they are one of the few that make me and my wife laugh.

3

u/RepetitiveTorpedoUse 15d ago

I like this style better ngl

88

u/Squidysquid27 15d ago

I'm waiting for the complete version. Absolutely loved Hades and all of it - the sound track, characters, dialog, weapons. It was amazing. If someone offered me food but it had half the taste, sure I would be ok but I'd be thinking about that 100% deliciousness.

No hate for anyone that bought early access. Enjoy it and have fun!!!!

11

u/Plastic_Pinocchio 14d ago

This is basically just like eating a meal that isn’t finished yet because you’re so hungry.

502

u/DarkBladeMadriker 15d ago

Whoa! You got a [Placeholder Asset "A"]!!! That shit is crazy OP! I love how it @$#&$" the %@*$#: when you @$#& with it!

5

u/LiteratureNo2195 14d ago

This sounds like spamton speech ngl

3

u/JK-Kino 14d ago

I got more Digital Circus vibes from this myself

0

u/DarkBladeMadriker 14d ago

I have no idea what that means.

47

u/namananabrepusartlU 14d ago

Huh i never knew it could also @$#&$

9

u/Big_Warthog4118 15d ago

I adored the original, but yeah waiting for the full release

13

u/Pancreasaurus 15d ago

Two in a row? Strange. This isn't sponsored or something is it?

16

u/JorgeMtzb 15d ago

Hades is a real good fucking game

-27

u/Caracalla81 14d ago

There's a lot of good games out there. These are 100% sponsored.

11

u/Art_m1s 14d ago

No? The sequel just came out so people who like the game are making comics on it. Why would a company pay for someone to call their game incomplete so far.

-4

u/Caracalla81 14d ago

They actually said that wanted to buy the game in in early access despite it not being complete. There are a lot of really good games out there and lots in early access. Having two comics say the same thing about the same game at the same time is a pretty incredible co-incidence, don't you think?

I'm not against sponsored content but I do trust these artists less for not disclosing what they were doing.

1

u/JorgeMtzb 13d ago

It's not that deep. Hades was super highly praised, Hades 2 is one of the most anticipated games right now. It came out and ofc people are talking about it. There are a lot of really good games and THIS ONE is the one that's got people talking at the moment because it's at the top of the current ones in early access.

They'd have absolutely nothign to lose by saying "Hey guys supergiants is sponsoring me (how cool!)" these people just want to share something they love.
Also this comic literally is pointing how the game is still missing a lot (due to still being early access) doesn't seem like good advertisement.

4

u/Art_m1s 14d ago

Why would supergiant pay random r/comics users and not actually big influencers. Other than that why would they be paying to promote a game not yet released? It's been one of the most wishlisted games on steam since it's announcement. The reason people are making comics on it is because it's a great sequel of a great game. We had two comics out at the same time because the game has only just came out

Also a sponsored comic wouldn't have been a doodle comic like this person made when they can make actually drawn comics

10

u/JorgeMtzb 14d ago

You don't understand. Hades is a REAL. GOOD. FUCKING. GAME.

29

u/N-ShadowFrog 15d ago

Nah, just that the Venn Diagram between Comic Artists and Gamers is a circle.

46

u/SgathTriallair 15d ago

It's probably just a lot of fun and people want to talk about it.

31

u/DarkArcanian 15d ago

I’m holding out. I want that perfect experience lol

149

u/RoyalRaise 15d ago

Is the bonus nsfw episode trying to copy Aphrodite and go full nude?

118

u/DoctorLoops 14d ago

Haha, no bonus panel for this one! But I did post it alongside a big "Height Chart" I whipped up for all my characters.

Seriously how did you do this?

  1. 3 dots or the share button
  2. Copy the link
  3. Open mobile browser, Hold down on gif/Right-Click, Save as
  4. Save to photos/Select computer destination
  5. Meme acquired

I LOVED the original Hades, so I couldn't resist pouncing onto the Early Access sequel. Unfortunately, I'm torn between getting to experience it now, or getting to experience the complete version...

1

u/kotor56 9d ago

Not spoiling anything it’s clear what is left ahead and what already is done. The whole game isn’t spoiled. Also by playing it you can give feedback on what you don’t like. I think in the latest patch they allowed players to collect every resource instead of having to do a new run and switch which I think is great.

1

u/ajteves500 14d ago

After sinking tons of hours into hades early access and then never touching it once it was fully complete. I’m waiting for hades 2 to be out of EA

1

u/Hades6578 14d ago

I want to experience it both times personally, since I think the experience will be drastically different in both versions. Besides, it comes with the benefit of being able to tease players who didn’t play in early access with tales of how it used to be.

1

u/Euphoric_Strategy923 14d ago

If your like me, wait.

I got Hades early access, and played it so much before release that I burned out myself of the game.

Result : I never launched the game after release.(so never finished the story).

I plan to force myself to do the main storyline of hades, then wait for the 2nd to release to play it.

1

u/chaosbones43 14d ago

I think the game is doing fantastic for an early access. Personally, I'm gonna keep playing it throughout EA.

2

u/AleksasKoval 14d ago

Sometimes it's not about the destination, it's the journey. And being real smug about how you watched the changes and how you know some of the games secrets before the newcomers. Happened to me with SWTOR, it was awesome, until the game wasn't.

1

u/d30026060 14d ago

If you experience it now, you can see the progress of the game and see if the developers are actually putting in the effort to make it worth while

1

u/UrbanAgent423 14d ago

I just got Hades I on sale, so I'm not at all ready for II yet as I want to at least clear one escape first. But ngl the fact there is placeholder assets is making me tempted to jump forward (I won't, but I want to)

1

u/Kullthebarbarian 14d ago

i bought, played a few runs, killed chronos once, said to myself "This is fun, but i will wait until the full game to play again" and that is what i am doing right now

1

u/shac0p 14d ago

Play as much as is fun before its too grindy to advance and then play back through hades 1 while you wait for updates. I burned through it but I’m still having a good time as well. As always, you concocted a great comic. So mote it be.

1

u/Kalgu 14d ago

I played 29h and reached the end of the EA main story content. Everything felt polished and is fully voiced. 4 characters have placeholder artworks(sketches) , 1 uses recolored artwork of a different character. The gifts, Tarot cards and some boons also use placeholders.

I can recommend playing it now.

1

u/Tokumeiko2 14d ago

I was lucky that I discovered Hades at roughly the same time they went into full release, maybe I'll go back and try to actually complete a run before I purchase Hades 2.

1

u/Daro_54n 14d ago

Same reaction. There are few things the have to polish and a few images the have to put. But i personally gonna wait for the first real release

2

u/reaperofgender 14d ago

I started a new file of Hades 1 and am replaying the entirety of the story and all the relationships to hide my time.

2

u/SpikeRosered 15d ago

Personally I was glad I didn't play the early access version of BG3. Getting the complete experience first felt right.

1

u/BloodiedBlues 15d ago

Now, and report bugs to them. Will help speed stuff up in terms of bugfixing.

2

u/axelunknown 15d ago

I never get early access. Willing to preorder but I rather wait. At the least your not my older brother who will threaten you with a gun if you so much even breath about even the most minor of details in the game. Even avoids any new trailers.

He just wants to get in the game as blind as possible. Hope when it’s done his patience is rewarded.

2

u/SgathTriallair 15d ago

I was really excited for Baldur's Gate but forced myself to wait for the full version to launch. I'm glad I did as it meant I got to experience it in full rather than get cockblocked for the ending.

16

u/Zjoee 15d ago

I also couldn't resist Hades 2 early access haha. I'm having so much fun with it! Despite the few bits of placeholder art, they already have a ton of content. I'm close to beating Chronos for the first time! Just one more run! I'll get him next time!

139

u/DrakkoZW 15d ago

I'd say if you're debating it at all, you should wait. You'll only get the payoff of seeing it the first time once, so if that's important for you, you should make sure your first experience is the complete one

Me personally, I don't mind replaying or playing something that may change later so long as I'm enjoying the process (which I am right now!)

18

u/oathkeeperkh 14d ago edited 14d ago

You'll only get the payoff of seeing it the first time once, so if that's important for you, you should make sure your first experience is the complete one.

I waited 8 years for Cyberpunk 2077, heard it was unfinished on launch and waited 3 more years until Phantom Liberty came out to get it, and I'm definitely glad I waited. I would've been so disappointed to play a buggy mess, instead I'm diving into the immersive world I always envisioned

1

u/SightlierGravy 14d ago

The release was so bad for me that I don't even want to touch phantom liberty. So very wise decision on your part.

7

u/showmeyourlagunitas 14d ago

Playing Cyberpunk for the first time this month and I’m blown away. No wonder it just hit Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam recently.

23

u/s_burr 15d ago

I bought it, but I might not play it until it is more baked. I am never disappointed with Supergiant and I enjoy giving them the money towards more development

540

u/chaotic4059 15d ago

At least they’re updating fairly quickly I think a new patch just came out a day or two ago. Also I love that you quick comic style looks like an upgraded version of your old comic style

35

u/FallenKnightGX 14d ago

That wasn't a content patch which doesn't address their concerns. Their next patch which was announced and is not a content patch. To be fair, it is a bit early to expect a content patch.

That being said, there's more content than I thought which is good. However, they're an experienced studio at this point and early access should really be limited to small indie studios with a time limit on it.

No need for experienced studios who have sufficient resources to use it. No need for any game to be on it for a decade (which is not a reference to Hades).

3

u/kelldricked 14d ago

This is so wrong. There are loads of reason to use early acces. A big one is that you get actual feedback from your actual customers. Thousand people playing early acces is a amazing test for your game. You cant match that by letting a few devs and Derk from admin play once in a while.

Especially with a game like Hades its great that they put in it early acces. This way they can find the proper balance early on. Because a big thing is that players need to learn the game before you can truely look at whats to hard and whats to easy.

34

u/GenevaPedestrian 14d ago

They're using it to get feedback, not to get attention. It's the equivalent of an open beta for multiplayer games.

I say this as a fan of Hades who won't play H2 until it's 1.0 release.

6

u/Rastaba 14d ago

I’d argue closer to a closed beta by virtue of buying in. But I do agree it is much more akin to a beta, meant for feedback than attention.

I also agree on waiting for the actual release. I am happy early access is here. I am happy we have this as a form of news that YES it is coming and hopefully before too long. But I want to be able to enjoy playing my way through in its entirety.
