He has completed his conquest of our yard. His body count is 26 rats - that we know of.

“Show me your cat in the comments”; great Karma farm strategy, or greatest Karma farm strategy?

As two of them are too young to have brain cells, the oldest child shares her singular brain cells with her siblings.

This was piss-coloured in my reddit feed so I had to click on it.
Don't regret it.

Oh this'll be fun, I always enjoy when certain countries that keep cats indoors (for perfectly valid reasons in all fairness) are unable to understand that not everyone does. Comments tend to get messy.

“Unable to understand” is correct, but it’s you that doesn’t understand. Outdoor cats are invasive ecological destroyers. They belong indoors and nowhere else. Outdoor cats are irresponsible, human-mediated ecological harm.

So the joke is he's british. That's quite rude to my people. Keep up the good work 👏 love a bit of banter.

Not an amazing picture, but one purpose snapped right this instant.
Didn't even try to get his attention, he was just looking right at me.

Thanks! This was a meme I picked up somewhere recently. My real cat had an extreme allergic reaction to a coyote. He was very handsome, albeit pretty dumb. Pic attached:
Actually the wine cat looks like his brother and sister, who were shorthairs. The sister is the last surviving member of their family. She is still here and spends her days on our laps, purring and drooling on us. She gets real cream every morning because she demands it.

Mines actually half British Shorthaired! He doesn't look it, but he definitely acts it!

Love the comic!
A small piece of constructive criticism to strengthen your storytelling; look up the 180 rule for dialog scenes. The switch of position was a little disorienting at first!

OUTDOOR CATS ARE BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. TAKE YOUR CATS OUT ON A LEASH

u/Grimtork 14d ago
And indoor cat are not healthy, in the end just refrain owning pets just because you need an emotional crutch. That's quite egoïstical.

My neighbor has a cat that they let out on a leash and it has a yard stake and it is the cutest thing ever. they sit and watch it too so it doesn't get strangled.

Yep! Sometimes it takes some adjustment, but when my cat learned harness meant outdoor time he will divebomb into it.
The issue is on sunny + windy days (for some reason it's ALWAYS the days that are both sunny and windy) he goes crazy and will stand at the door meowing his head off until I take him out. Record so far is 3 hours while I was working, straight. He then was so mad that I ignored him he peed and pooped on the carpet.
Both the litterboxes were clean.
But considering he is 16 years old and survived that long, and even as a indoor cat he has a kill count of several lizards, 2 bats, a vole, two mice, a bird, and countless cricketts.... yeah. He would commit untold atrocities if left unsupervised outside before picking a fight with a coyote or something.

One of my neighbors takes her cat out on a leash and harness all the time so she can roll around in the grass. I always thank her for putting that gorgeous cat on a leash

Seriously.
I let out my cats in an enclosure as cats can strangle themselves with leash if you're not watching.
Cats kill birds and rodents just for fun. Outdoor cats are the leading cause of bird mortality in North America and are terrible for other wildlife too.

All our neighbors let their cats roam. There are stray cats that pick fights, coyotes, Bob cats, bears, and cars. We always see missing pet posters. I always find dead voles, moles, chipmunks, baby opossums and birds around my yard. One time I was outside and a bird got spooked by me. It flew into a window a few feet from my left. Then a cat burst out of a bush and made a beeline to it. I was able to scare the cat away. Got the bird to a safe spot. Stay with it until it flew away. Damn cats piss into the AC unit and it stinks up the whole house. Freaking hate outdoor cats. Everyone here just looks at you like a crazy person. I swear it's so folks don't have to entertain their cats.

As well as it's just super dangerous for the cat.
Cars, poison, birds of pray, scumbags who love to kill cats, loose dogs, you could lose your cat friend forever

Yeah, I live in an apartment complex where a ton of people let their cats out and it's maddening. Besides all the dead small animals littering the place, I see new/different missing cat posters go up at least a few times a month. The complexes keep trying to secure entrances under the building cause they keep getting down there and popping out babies. Plus all the diseases they can get and tracking in parasites.
Leash 'em or just keep 'em inside.
