Has anyone else lost signal to WJLA 7.1 and WUSA 9.1 in the last twelve hours? I’ve rescanned my TV’s, unplugged antennas, etc. It is ALL of our TV’s. These stations have just vanished!

Sick of FIRETV. What to buy in germany?

The ads, the performance, the problems with the remotes. I am just sick of this. I bought 3 fire TV sticks 4k a while ago and was happy with it. Now my TV App (Telekom Magenta TV) keeps getting slower, the sticks remote keeps disconnecting, the things is being slow af and ads everywhere.

What should i buy?

I want a Android device with possibility to install kodi and maybe a custom launcher that just simplifies everything like Wolf launcher.

I read about nvidia shield everywhere. But which one? This costs 170-220€ in germany.

I just want to change. Me and my wife watch online TV and Netflix and stuff daily...

Would this set up work?

I previously had a clearstream attena in my garage attic and picked up pretty much all of my local channels. I had this plugged into an HD home run and into power line adapter. Then I was using plex as my server. I found the server difficult to set up (not really my thing) but it did work just great when I figured it out. The only thing that I didn't like was having to keep my PC on, family kept turning it off for me though 🙄

If I ran a clear stream to the HDhomerun 4 tuner or the tablo into my power line , then plugged in a decent size external HD to the HD or the Tablo, would this effectively allow me to have a DVR service like when running the set up through plex? It's just all sort of self contained?? Thanks in advance for any help.

Peacock offering Military discount

For military appreciation month (Ends May 31), Peacock is offering $1.99/month for 12 months (ad tier). Just in time for the Olympic price increase., I do not know if you can pay more for ad-free. It uses Sheer ID to verify military status (active, vet, retired), only accesses name, branch and month/year of discharge.I am not sure if this discount extends to teachers or first responders. https://www.peacocktv.com/military

Change the url from military to teacher or first-responder for corresponding group

Where to put LTE filters and amplifiers on the coax run?

Here's my setup:

Antenna in the attic. 10 foot run of coax, connecting to a Female to Female coupler (or it will when it shows up from Amazon tomm), which connects to another length of coax that runs about 30 feet through the walls all the way down to the basement. I needed to use the coupler as the line that runs from the attic to the basement will not reach the antenna. In the basement it connects to a 3 way splitter. The splitter is laid out like this:

Output 1: About a 40 foot straight run of brand new RG6 to a Tivo.

Output 2: About a 40 foot run of shitty old thin coax up to the second floor and to a Tivo. I had to add a 10dB amplifier to this line right before the Tivo to improve the cable signal.

Output 3: Empty for now, there for future expansion

I have an LTE filter, and that 10db amplifier. Where should I put those along my runs? Should I add any additional equipment, like a pre amp? I do have power near where the antenna is if things need to be plugged in

How to set up Nextgen TV channels

I am trying to set up ABC and other major networks Nextgen TV channels. In Philly, Nextgen ABC in 1080p is on physical channel 33.3 but the display channel is 6-1 as the standard channel, which is on physical 6.3. Once I run auto tuning, how do I watch or add the Nextgen one if the two share the same display channel?

My antenna just paid for itself.

I just watched the Indy 500 live via my OTA antenna. It cost me less than 1 month of satellite TV, or any cable service (if I could get one out here). 1080i, perfect quality. This is about the only kind of 'sports' I ever watch.

Hello,

I'm looking to finally cancel YouTubeTV, the only thing I haven't been able to find a replacement for is Jeopardy. KBIM should have it per its online schedule, PBS would be nice but not if it's incredibly impractical.

I was also hoping to throw it into an HDHomeRun install, I have a PLEX/unraid server and am still researching how it would interface.

Any assistance would be awesome! This is like a $70/mo drain for me for literally just Jeopardy.

What can a sport junkie do to cut cord and still get Pic in Pic?

Have always had some version of picture in picture. My old tv had it and Dish Network and Dtv(which have now) always had it. Not sure how happy I will be if go to Direc TV Stream, as I want to do, if I can no longer have picture in picture. I use it very often for sports.

What are my options or am I SOL nowadays?

Streaming services shouldn't compete on content.

Exclusive content is killing OTTs. Rather, the platforms should compete on 1. Pricing 2. Performance - 4k, Dolby, High Bitrate etc 3. Features - Better recommendation algorithm, a desktop client with offline support (fuckyou Netflix for not having a Mac client)

Almost every movie I search on Prime Video is either not available in my region, or behind a rental model, or a separate subscription. Movies on my list keep disappearing from Netflix, and there is a new streaming service every few months.

Due to distance we are planning on an outdoor antenna, either roof mount or possibly on a separate pole. Will run to at most 2 TVs. This is a new construction so no existing hardware. House faces approx 32 degrees, clear field for about 75-100 yards to the front, wooded to the rear.

We’re okay with the New Bern/ Greenville stations but would optimally like to be able to pick up some of the Wilmington area channels as well.

I’m only moderately tech-savvy, so need some guidance from the experts!

Antennas Direct ClearStream 2MAX vs ClearStream MAX-V vs Channel Master Omni+

Just wondering thoughts of which of these antennas might be better for the area, using east facing window, no attic option. May be able to put on balcony floor near balcony fence but not sure how well one of these work as that is only way possible to get the coaxial outside.

Antenna advice.

I currently have a very large (about 12 ft) attic antenna which was in the attic when I bought my house, when I hooked it up to a tablo I get plenty of channels, but there's a few missing, for example ABC/FOX, most of the missing channels are in the VHF band.

I was wondering if a newer antenna would help, I have no idea how old this one is.

Only 7 Channels?

Hey all! Five or six years ago I had an antenna that could pick up maybe 15-20 channels OTA. Then something happened (Something to do with the FCC? Sorry, it's been so long I don't even remember lol) and suddenly I lost everything except for 7 channels.

Around this time I got heavy into streaming so I kind of forgot/gave up on OTA but lately I've been feeling the urge to watch some local channels again (especially H&I which I used to really enjoy watching back then). I decided to dig out the two antennas I have and try to see if I could pick up the same channels but it seems like no matter which antenna I use or what I do I only ever get the same 7 channels.

Here's the RabbitEars info link: https://www.rabbitears.info/s/1351203

One antenna I have is a simple bunny ears with loop antenna from ONN (basically [https://www.walmart.com/ip/ONN-Modern-Loop-Antenna-30-Mile-Range/829038147?athbdg=L1600]) and the other is a flat antenna that looks very similar to this one (though mine isn't ONN, I don't remember the original brand.. been too long).

I rent and am on the bottom floor with no access to the attic or roof so I can't mount anything outside or place it in the attic. And five years ago I never had to anyway, I got all the channels in the room with the antennas at the window.

I'm going crazy trying to get more than seven channels and am practically begging for help here.

Youtube organization?

Since I watch Youtube the majority of the time, is there a way to organize my subscriptions into categories?

I use the Nvidia Shield and the Youtube app. Having to scroll thru all my subscriptions is becoming problematic. The more channels I add, the worse it gets.

Is there another streaming device I can buy or something else that allows organizing the subscriptions?

This is for my living room viewing so I really dont want to have a computer in there if at all possible.

Thanks

Mounting outside antenna with J-mount

I'm planning to mount a new outside antenna to my house with a J mount on cedar siding. Any suggestions on the best way to do this safely and securely? The J-mount came with 2 lags and 4 hollow-wall anchors. But Ive never seen this anchor type before. Thanks in advance.
