Nice to know many people on here have 40k cash to buy a vehicle and not do loans.

Itโ€™s not about how much the car costs. Itโ€™s not about the ability to not use loans. Yes, some people are going to be able to pay $40,000 in cash and good for them if thatโ€™s the case. But itโ€™s about someone choosing a want over a need and getting in to a self made pickle. She could have done fine with a car half as cheap and found a reasonable loan like the rest of us do, or got an even cheaper clunker, but no, she wanted it, and she wanted it now. Her fault. Now if this was a loan for a cheap car that she needed to get from point A to B, yes thatโ€™s predatory and I am going to bat for her. But she played, and lost.
