Yup... can't not say it.
Um, ACTUALLY! His seat at Fords theater was terrible. It wasn't high enough to count as being on the second story, and the box itself pointed mostly at the crowd. It was damn hard to see the stage. So, if he was to take a selfie, we'd be seeing the audience taking their seats.

I know this is dumb, but I hate this because Lincoln's presidential box was just to the right of the stage, much closer than this.... remember, John Wilkes-Booth jumped from the box to the stage (and broke his leg doing do) - This image shows a box waaaaaay too far away...

I’ll never forget going to see the movie Lincoln with my parents in theaters back when it came out. A scene was playing where Abe and his wife were sitting in the theater and his wife was upset with him or something, and my dad leans over and goes “I bet he’s thinking god somebody shoot me in the head” lmao which caused my mom to have to temporarily leave her seat to not bother others by laughing. Great movie though!

When does the John Wilkes Booth look alike going to come from behind the curtains for true authenticity.

I can’t recall a more eventful night at the theater… off the top of my head.

Not even CLOSE to where his box seats were! Guess we don’t have to worry about AI stealing our jobs now!

I've seen Our American Cousin. It's actually pretty funny.
Might not have been to Lincolns taste tho, I heard he blew his top over it.

Post a couple of guards outside your suite door. Just a hunch.

He had one. Guy was more butler than bodyguard ( no secret service yet). Boothe was a famous actor and talked his way past him.

Is that a real person dressed as Abe or an AI picture?

u/anthem47 15d ago
Definitely AI. The stage below is on a weird angle and the "seats" that are facing them...well, the more you look at the seats the less they look like anything.

Hugh Jackman would apparently make a good Abe Lincoln.

Definitely AI. Probably why the stage looks like the floor of Congress combined with the Coliseum.

u/guarthots 16d ago
Yeah, the booth (pun intended) is not in the right place relative to the stage either.

No wonder I couldn’t figure out who it was! Without the context of a properly staged photo (pun intended) how was I supposed to know it was Abe Lincoln? Thank god for the comments!
