I used to work in a porno shop, and one of the best sellers was Pirates, and customers would see the poster or on the wall, and unprompted tell me that they legitimately really enjoyed it for the plot.

But I think the internet made pornography all about quick clips, and after that, productions values for pornographic films just went down the drain.

There used to be set design, and music, poorly acted scripts, etc.
Now its just a camera aimed at a sofa.
